Description
Realistic props of Kentucky's fauna (and more...), for RP purposes. The animals can be butchered for meat, lard and leather strips!

Updates

Now you can choose to have no foraging, normal foraging, or rare foraging.
Skunk model and Polar bear added.
Cats can be equipped.
Dogs and cats can be petted: petting reduces Stress, Unhappiness and Boredom
Farm animals and city animals can be found with "FORAGING".

EXPERIMENTAL WALKING DOG:

The German shepherd and the Belgian Malinois items can be worn. The models are skinned and NOT animated. This means the models will do silly things when sitting down, jumping over objects, etc. There's no real workaround for this, but it's the best I could do to make the dog an animated object that follows the player. This feature needs more experimentation.

Note:
  • RealisticKentuckyFaunaPropsForRP: This is the mod with NO FORAGING. Enable just this one for no foraging.
  • FaunaForagingNormal: add this mod to have a normal foraging rate.
  • FaunaForagingRare: add this mod if you want foraging to be very RARE for RP's consistency.

You can choose only the core mod (RealisticKentuckyFaunaPropsForRP) or add one of the other two for foraging.
DO NOT activate all three together! Choose only one for foraging.

Works with "Fauna actions" for harvesting products from animals (eggs, wool, milk)

I can't find the mod for fauna foraging normal? Is it a setting I need to enable in the mod options or is it a separate mod I need to add?

Ciao Scimmia!
Oh, I am blind, sorry. Thanks so much for pointing it out <3
I guess farm means any farm buildings that are on the Zomboid map? =)

Hi! @FiyahKitteh In the mod description there’s a list of all the spawn zones and the foraging levels required for each animal.

If you want to make sure the mod is working correctly, I recommend launching the game in -debug mode, that way you’ll have admin commands and can try spawning one of the animals manually to confirm it’s loading properly.

Also, please make sure you’ve enabled Mod ID: FaunaForagingNormal
The other one (FaunaForagingRare) is meant for very rare spawn settings, so it’s easy to miss them during normal gameplay.

Quick question. WHERE do the animals spawn and how frequent? I haven't seen a single one, and I am trying to figure out of there is a compatibility issue, or if I am just not looking in the right places. =O

ah they don't move ahhhhhhh oh
thanks for the info

Hi @Samy FIGUEROA the Fauna mod adds animals as realistic props for RP (they are not NPCs, so they don’t move). You can butcher them for meat, lard, and leather, and use them for immersion.

You have 3 options:

Only RealisticKentuckyFaunaPropsForRP → animals appear as visible props on the map.

+ FaunaForagingNormal → animals can be found through foraging, normal frequency.

+ FaunaForagingRare → animals can be found through foraging, very rare frequency.

⚠️ Enable only one of the foraging options (Normal or Rare, never both).
City animals (cats, dogs) can be found with foraging in urban areas.
If you spawn an animal and it doesn’t move, that’s normal: it’s a prop, not an NPC.

Now you can choose to have no foraging, normal foraging, or rare foraging.

I dont understand this

If we want Animal spawning without activate foraging we need to choose "RealisticKentuckyFaunaPropsForRP" and animals will spawn anywhere on the map and visible ?

Sorry but need to understand how this mod works
Samy FIGUEROA Sep 24 @ 12:56pm
even if the animals are rare, I should see cats in Urban zone right ?
