TF2 Engineer

Description

The Engineer is a soft-spoken, amiable Texan from Bee Cave, Texas, USA with an interest in all mechanical things. He specializes in constructing and maintaining buildings that provide support to his team, rather than fighting at the front lines, making him the most suitable for defense.

But due to one of Merasmus shenanigans, the mercenaries wound up in the Hamlet of the Darkest Dungeon. Using his ingenuity and his wits, the Engineer uses his buildings to face the hordes until an opportunity arrives to return back to Teufort.

The Engineer, by himself, is an average ranged damage dealer and healer. But his moment shines when he builds his sentry to tank incoming damage. His abilities revolves around tanking enemies and riposte, dealing more damage the more enemies focus on him. He excels at long battles, giving him opportunities to upgrade his sentry, making him more stronger and dangerous, with the cost of lowering his dodge and debuff resist. When the Engineer upgrades his sentry to level 3, he unlocks the ability to use a wrangler and shoot an enemy with the sentry, at the cost of marking himself and possibly stunning himself in the process.

The Engineer is however not useless without his sentry gun, he is still able to provide fire support if upgrading the sentry is not a priority. His support ability also allows him to restore health to both him and his allies when the situation gets dire.

When camping, the Engineer provides support to his team by supplying provisions, healing his party and providing a cheap cost of preventing nighttime ambush.

Hi! Toby IO here, this is my first mod in Darkest Dungeon. I have been planning to do this mod for quite some time now, but due to life and being busy, this mod has been delayed for quite a long time. If you have any suggestions or feedback, feel free to post it in the discussions!

Thanks and shout-out to the Discord Moonlit Dungeon, especially O'Nightmare!, for helping out in some of the coding bugs and questions related to how Darkest Dungeon work!

Q: Will you be doing other classes in the future?
A: Maybe. This was a pet project of mine that lasted for over a year due to life.

Q: Will you update this mod?
A: Unlikely unless there is game-breaking bug that needs to be resolved.

Q: Can I share this mod on nexus/translate the mod?
A: Request permission first by me, and even then, do credit me when you publish it.

Oh also if during the automatic hasties you click to move onto combat before they're done any engis who aren't done will hasty in the next battle area but use the animation for the last combat skill they used instead of for hasty, ex. summoning a dispenser or doing a wrangler attack instead of holding up the destruction remote. Less impactful because it only affects visuals during a non-interactive portion of play, but still technically a bug.

Such has happened to me multiple times, least three, so I feel confident it is repeatable enough to mention here.

Found Glitch, reproduced as follows:

End a chunk of Farmstead battles at level 3
In the rest area, exit to desktop (For what it worth, I always waited out the automatic hasty retreats)

Reopen save

All Hasties are undone, no engis redo them, and on proceeding to combat all engies are at Level 3 but have no ripostes or associated buffs.

Engineer is such a good hero (Class) from the barks to mechanics however he needs a huge nerf on his riposte cause it deals too much damage

Busted beyond reason, fun beyond reason too. Easy run, easy life.
Hello There Aug 13, 2024 @ 7:07pm
out of all the tf2 classes to be a tank, the engineer was not one i expected, being a light class with 125 hp and all that, but once you get your lv. 1 turret up, simply do not the engineer.
