Mod Info:
This music pack brings the dark, gritty and intense soundtrack of David Szymanski's retro-FPS DUSK to XCOM 2. Purge the unworthy and save Mankind to 43 unique tracks of kickass industrial synth-metal, courtesy of god-tier composer Andrew Hulshult.

(Preview the tracks in the list below by listening to them in the videos provided above!)

This soundtrack is no joke; it's the perfect blend of Quake and the newer DOOM games. If Trent Reznor, Mick Gordon and Sonic Mayhem had a kid, it would be Andrew Hulshult. If you haven't played DUSK, or at least heard of it, then you're missing out big time.
Give it a look. I think you'll like what you see...and hear!

Issues & Notes:
  • If you install the mod and you find that music refuses to play whilst in combat, try deleting your 'Config' file under this pathway: C:\Users\YourUsername\Documents\My Games\XCOM2 War of the Chosen\XComGame. Next, run XCOM 2 a couple of times to regenerate the 'Config' folder, and the music should play just fine.

  • For whatever reason MMS does not support 'mission complete' or 'after-action' music, and will therefore default to the base game soundtrack. I have gotten custom after-action music to play before, however those instances were rare and sporadic.

  • Music stutters during drops in FPS. There is nothing I can do to change that.

  • MMS music packs & custom music mods in general have a habit of playing over cutscenes. This one is no different unfortunately.

  • MMS is not fully compatible with LW2; songs from this pack may fail to play.

  • I had to get a little creative with some of these tracks in order to make them loop correctly/cleanly, so some music may sound different to how it does in the original DUSK OST.

  • This is my first music pack mod, so please offer some constructive criticism/feedback if you find something wrong with it. Thank you for checking out my work, have a great day, and may God bless you.

@The Unslain Dragon No. It seems to be working now; guess the game just needed to run longer.

Would you happen to be running LWOTC?
Grei Shoutmon Apr 4 @ 10:24pm
@The Unslain Dragon I did that, but still no luck. I assume it'll just...return when it wants to...?

@The Unslain Dragon I have no idea where or what that even is...sorry. Its been a long time since I have modded this game.

Okay, for one, in the description it states that MMS does not support after action music. Almost 9 times out of 10 you will hear the base game OST after a mission instead of the modded music pack, no matter which one you're using. Second, if you're not hearing any tracks from the music pack on the Avenger, it means you need to delete the 'Config' file in your XCOM 2 'Documents' folder. This is also listed in the decription above. Read it and follow the directions laid out for you, then check to see if the music plays correctly.

This music mod does not fully work. I just got back from Gatecrasher, and the "victory music" was from vanilla.

In addition, there is not a single ost of music, playing in the Avenger. Is this supposed to happen?

Alright then, good luck. Let me know how it goes.

Nah, i managed to extract the files already. Anyways, i don't promise to get anything done, but if i do, i'll definitely credit you.

Not at all. So long as you credit me that would be perfectly fine.
When I first made the music pack I envisioned it working in the same way as the base-game XCOM 2 OST did, so having a version of the DUSK soundtrack that actually operated that way would be pretty sick. If you need the audio files I used for the mod I could provide them for you.
