Since we first looked upon the stars, we've dreamt of this moment. We have learned much from those that came before us, now it is our time to rule. The Dawn Of Ascension is upon us


Dawn Of Ascension

Dawn Of Ascension is a mod that brings forth the ascension into the technological age of Dark Matter based technologies.
With this comes new ship types, fallen empire automated industries and upgrades, new civics, a new ascended shipset and more!

Dawn Of Ascension 3.0 has been rewritten from the ground up and is made with compatibility in mind. The mod overwrites 0 vanilla files. DoA 3.0 also comes with a brand new ascension situation, far longer than the previous one with brand new exciting content

  • Become an Ascended Empire
  • 3 new event chains to gain Dark Matter Power!
  • 2 different ascension situations depending on your settings and if ACOT is enabled or not
  • New ascended empire shipset that varies depending on your flag colours
  • Fallen empire buildings and upgrades

  • New precursor hulls, buffing your ships to the next level
  • New escort and battlecruiser shiptype for ascended empires

Compatibility stuff

  • Works well with majority of mods
  • ACOT has no issues with DoA
  • Acquisition of Technology has in-built compatibility with DoA
  • Does NOT currently support NSC for the DoA shipset
  • load order generally doesn't matter, outside of if you use Acquisition of Technology (AOT), then that needs to go below DoA

Though DoA does not has compatibility with NSC, it is still better not to use the same keyword. tech_battlecruiser_build_speed is also used by NSC so there is a conflct. Though this might be trivial.

The ideas are ever shifting and nothing is really set in stone. The OG idea written 1.5 years ago on my old channel, was just a way for empires to naturally decline and/or fail the situation. Failing the situation is unlikely to work very well with my newer situation system though.

So, how it's going to truly turn out... I am not sure, it might honestly be skipped for a while to focus on different ascension methods

They're not precursor ships, unless I guess with acot (haven't touched the LOC there for ages)

But no it won't interfere and I am taking them into account for future update, it'll just take a while because my next update is pretty big

Will the tech gained via cosmogenesis interfere with this mod? While it doesnt ascend the empire it still gives access to FE tech which is also a part of this mod. (although i guess it would be fine since the ships we get from this mod are "precursor" ships and therefore technically a class of their own)

Well in any event something needs to be done with living metal to make it more interesting and perhaps combining it with dark matter somehow etc etc.... Since not many if any mods actually make use of living metal which is quite a shame...... In a side note Cosmogenesis doesnt technically ascend your empire instead it gives access to some stuff so DOA is still fine as is for the Ascension part however if the player goes Cosmo then it should probably speed up the ascension I guess.

To give you a proper answer. Zofe has nothing I'd want to recreate. I might do something with living metal for some of the new machine age stuff in the future, but no plans yet.

But whatever I'll do will definitely not be the thing you asked for, so, sorry about that

Could you ask Zenith of Fallen Empires if you can use his "Living Metal" part of the ascension for your ascension? I feel this is the only thing missing from Dawn of Ascension..... So the way it would work is you can research into Living Metal after you get Dark Matter up and running and you can create a series of buildings that do interesting things using living metal BUT the main thing is you gain access to Paradise Worlds which are absolutely amazing and kinda like a pimped up Ecumenopolis are that created using extensive amounts of living metal. So I would love to see Living Metal added to the Ascension with the end product being Paradise Worlds for Dawn of Ascension. Can we make it so?
