Pocket Shield Core

Description
The outside world is dangerous. Take a Pocket Shield with you. Give one to your AI Bot companion.

v1.6.5: Fixed crashes when AI Enabled bot dies (temporary patch, root cause will be investigated after April).

Description
This mod is a framework for Personal Shield Generator. You don't need to subscribe to this mod, just set this as dependency for your mod.


Know Issues
  • Mod should work on Multiplayer/Dedicated Server, but I haven't tested since I don't play MP.
  • Crashes on player disconnect on Dedicated Server (report). Fix is pushed, but no confirm yet.

  • Documentation will come up soon. In the meantime, if you interested in modding, please check out Pocket Shield V3 (which acts as modding template).

Currently it is not possible, but if you find the effect annoying, I have pushed an update to remove the effect.

that is not quite as i imagined it hrhr. I guess the armour plates need to go.
Btw is the shield always visible? Can we tweak ingame its color and opacity?

I haven't tested yet but it should be compatible with Armour Plates.
However depend on the other mod's damage handling, armour plates may take damage before shields, which may not be the desired effect.

Taking a quick look at the code, it seems that armour plates will take damage before shields.

This shield mod is a framework for personal shield.
Shield can block full damage or a portion of damage, can be upgrade, can be toggle on-off, can be given to any character (include wolves if you can put the item in wolves' inventory).
Other than that I don't know what else I can do with this, but I heard someone was trying to make a body armor mod using this, so I think you will find interesting way to use it :)

Hello. Roshan and DEeM0NX and I made this mod for hydrogen engines for the server, a new engine will appear soon - we can share it. But we have questions: what did the shield mod do and what else is it capable of?

Love the mod, you saved me a ton of work creating my own. One thing I've noticed is that the components will not appear on the Autocraft menu of Isy's Inventory Manager. I haven't traced it yet, but if you have any ideas maybe you could update the mod. If I track it down, I'll give you a heads up.
