With the release of the new DLC, your city’s world-class airport may need a world-class upgrade. Here I'm introducing you with the Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) Air Traffic Control Complex (ATCX), the guardian of this former World's Best Airport for over 2 decades.

The complex comprises 2 parts: Air Traffic Control Centre ¹ and Air Traffic Control Tower ². They are interlinked by a sky bridge and are both equipped with a full set of advanced radar system and modern telecommunication equipment.

The centre provides approach control and area control services to traffic in your city's Flight Information Region (FIR). Controllers maintain radio communication with pilots and all instructions are given in English using standard phraseologies and procedures as laid down by ICAO.

The tower provides 24-hour aerodrome control services to aircraft operating at the airport, including those taking-off and landing on the runway, as well as aircraft movements on the taxiways and parking aprons. The Surface Movement Radar atop the tower provides accurate aircraft and vehicle position information to assist the controllers under low visibility conditions and nighttime operations.





Just like many ATC towers in the real world, this asset is designed to be placed right in the middle of your airfield since day 1, serving as the nerve centre of your city's entire air traffic control system. In Hong Kong, the ATCX is situated in an isolated area (prohibited zone) between the main terminal and the midfield concourse, and is only accessible with permits.





This asset provides over 200 workplaces (based on real-life statistics) for your city, helping you to formulate your city's first dedicated and professional workforce that is responsible for the safe, orderly, and expeditious flow of air traffic within your world-class airport and your ever-expanding airspace.





There're 3 components included, namely the ATCX (Main Building), ATCX Props Preset 1 and ATCX Props Preset 2.

The main building holds no props. The two presets hold all the decorative props used in the asset, such as the fences, antennas, lights and pipes. They're also the layers that contain all the required items.

To get a full setup, you simply superpose all the components together by using mods like Road Anarchy or Move It. Don't forget to read the following sections for more detailed instructions.

Special Notes

1. This edition is made for those who don't have the Airports DLC. The Airports DLC Edition is available here.

2. The required items are optional. You may subscribe to them if you want to use my props presets. These props are carefully selected, and are very essential items for creating a realistic looking airport.

3. Install Ultimate Level of Detail (ULOD) to increase the props' render distance. Set Prop LOD Distance to more than 1000m if you don't want the props to disappear or distort when zooming out.

4. You may need Fine Road Anarchy and have its Anarchy option (Ctrl + A) enabled to place the two props presets (available separately as parks) right on top of the main building.

5. Many parts of this asset use the same texture and submesh. Install the Loading Screen Mod (Temporary Fix) with options like share textures, share materials and share meshes enabled to reduce RAM usage by up to 50%.

6. Mods were used when taking the screenshots. Your mileage may vary with different lighting conditions, LUT used, choice of visual mods, and among other factors.

7. This replica is not necessarily an exact recreation of the real object.
