Description


As the title says, changes the terrain types of many county capitals and holdings to Farmlands.

Reason for this mod is, some holdings should be on farmlands imho, such as; Praha, Milano, Athens, Pisa, Aachen, Winchester and so on..

Consider Praha, it is surrounded by farmlands but Prague itself is on hills and because you can not change county capital, it is so hard to develop Prague.

The list of all other changes are in discussions. This mod won't change the feeling of having a farmland county, by not overdoing it. So fear not, farmlands are still precious.

Mod file size is massive, because altering map textures requires all textures to be present in the mod folder. And also farmland textures look weird without some trees around them so, I modefied those files too.

Compatibility

Updated for CK3 version 1.6 (Castle).
  • Save game compatible. If you've already built terrain specific buildings they will stay the same, but upgrade paths for them won't be available. You have to replace them.
  • Starting buildings were replaced to suit changed terrain types of holdings so, these fixes will be available for new campaigns.
  • Any mod that changes starting buildings, map terrain or adds objects to the map will conflict with this mod. So make sure that this mod is ABOVE them in the load order (they will overwrite my mod, otherwise can cause problems).

My friends it's time to update now, because Paradox has renewed the map and made some objects and 3D effects on the table around the map. Your mod should be updated to added these things.

I don't think I will update the mod considering compatiblity is a major problem with other mods like Cities of Wonder 3 and Medieval Arts, due to the nature of modding map graphics. Whenever these mods are enabled my mod becomes obsolete (graphically, function wise the mod still works).

Crashes to desktop on 1.9x. A cool idea for a successor to this mod would be a decision to develop a barony into farmland terrain.

according to this video, lands of vengi duchy in andhra kingdom should be farmlands. Andha as kingdom is one of the worst in india, smallest apart from mountainous kashmir, but despite that it used to be a power house, adding farmlands would do it a justice,

Yes I'd love to see a lot more wetlands and floodplains. The Netherlands especially should have a lot of these (though really, they also need a lot more counties as the CK3 map is only valid after the 1287 St. Lucia's Day flood created the ZuiderZee.)
I also think there should be a mechanic for converting terrain. For example, There shouldn't be as many farmlands in 816 as in 1066. No idea how you'd implement this though.
