Description


Introduction

Not so far from the hamlet
A mine there be, not to be known yet.

No sights to be seen, you bet.
But kids, they sing, in mocking minuet.

"Rats! Rats! Horrible rats!"
"Rats! Rats! in the streets!"

"Rats in the houses!"
"And rats in my trousers!"

"Rats in the beds!"
"And rats in the cradles!"

"Rats on the tables!"
"And rats in the ladles!"

Rats, rats, they are the rats.
Gnawing, creeping, they are the rats.

Features

- 21 Regular Monsters
- 8 Boss Monsters, from different dungeons
- 31 Trinkets, can be equipped by any heroes
- Quirks and diseases, from all sorts of sources
- New Area: Warpstone Mines. The tutorial quest oepns at week 8. Be well prepared.
- 3 Districts
- ...And very, very insidious threat

Expansions

These mods can either be used to heighten your experience with Vermintide mod, or add more contents to it! There is currently only two expansions, but there's more to come.



To remove green torch, please subscribe to Bring the Normal Torch Back mod.

Compatibility

- If Vermintide is placed below Sunward Isles in the mod order, 'Retrieve Tomes' quest will not trigger the corresponding town event.
- If Vermintide is placed below The Manor in the mod order, unique town render image from Vermintide events, Lamia, Sisters, and Veiled will not work.
- Any inventory expansion mods should be placed above Vermintide.
- Vermintide should be placed above mods that add purchasable provisions, like Nightmare (when in doubt, place Vermintide above).
- Has BGM conflicts with dungeon mods such as Farmstead+, and Sunward Isles. Due to the limits in modding BGMs, only the BGM from Vermintide will be played (ex. Sunward Isles will play Town in Chaos), except for room battles in Farmstead+. This can be fixed by Vermintide Sunward Music Compatibility patch mod above.
- This mod is very large in size; using -disable_monster_pre_loading launch option is highly recommended.

Known Issues

- Stormfiend can give an initiative to itself after using a certain skill. However, this problem resolves itself soon afterward, and happens with very low chance.
- Heroes dying against Deathmaster before Inversion, then entering 2nd phase via Inversion can result in a couple of problems: 1) You need to drag and drop or press space to retrieve trinkets from dead heroes because the regular button does not work. 2) Trinkets on the dead heroes will be duplicated. 3) If Deathmaster himself (not clones) is inflicted with Actor Dot and the hero who used the Actor Dot skill dies, Inversion will cause the game to crash to desktop. You can proceed the game normally without any consequences.
- Darkest Dungeon must be launched with Steam Launcher to prevent crashes.
- Mod heroes with their own move skills can trigger Vermintide BGM to be played. This bug can also happen sometimes with quirk/disease actouts.

So far everything is really good. My only issue with the mod is the fact that the progress lines on the torch are not also green. Its really fucking with me. Is there ANY way you could have those also be green? Please!

But joke aside, honestly those Skaven are phukin deadly. No joke first encounter with a few Stormvermin and an anti heal censer can legit debilitate your run.
I've lost 2 characters to that stuff in the first combat round 2, 2 crits +blight offed 2 squishy characters. I guess one was antiquarian and the other was a bounty hunter. Both level 4 in a level 3 dungeon.

Yeah. I wouldn't say nerf the censer in particular but a halberd Stormvermin hitting harder than a bruiser hero is kinda harsh.

So this might just be me being a little bitch but, why can one enemy do and affect were your HEALERS TO JACK SHIT?! Minus 200% healing for two rounds. Now two rounds might seem like something short. But when you can't heal pairs with the enemy team having a good DPS kills most things. So please nerf this to a 50% or hell even 70% would do because I just need my guys off of Death's Door.

I have a question about how the mod works now that it's available in 64-bit. Is it still necessary to have the -disable_monster_pre_loading launch parameter? Was that necessary because of memory issues, or did it serve another purpose?

@Bosh Steam deck is a linux based hardware, and there is no way around that specific error in linux, as it is an innate error for linux version of Darkest Dungeon.

I think this mod is broken for me on Steam Deck. Whenever I try to launch the game with this mod enabled I get the error:

Couldn't find quest gather curio vermintide_bone_alter. Make sure this exists in the second column of the curio_props.csv file
SPACE to skip once
ESC to always skip
TAB to break

Trying to press space, esc, or tab doesn't do anything either with bound controls or by pulling up the on-screen keyboard and the game has to be closed.
This happens on both the newest and legacy versions on steam deck, but it works fine on PC.
Is the quest selection icon for the quests for the corrupted hamlet supposed to be located directly above the rightmost roster box, or could this be a mod conflict somewhere? Thanks.
