IF YOU ARE HAVING ISSUES CONNECTING WITH PEOPLE IN MULTIPLAYER and with resource desynchronization please, the issue seems to be with how GOH reads Steam mods. To fix this issue and make the game much more stable in multiplayer, follow these steps:

1) Navigate to your Steam workshop folder, the default is C:\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\
2) Find and open the folder for Gates of Hell - the folder called "400750"
3) Find the folder for Hotmod. It is "2614199156". COPY IT (select, right-click and choose "Copy", or select and press ctrl-c on your keyboard).
4) Navigate to your Gates of Hell install folder. By default this is: C:\Steam\steamapps\common\Call to Arms - Gates of Hell\
4b) If you do not see a mods folder in your Gates of Hell install folder, create one (right-click, New > Folder and rename it to mods)
5) PASTE the Hotmod mod folder (2614199156) into this new mods folder.
6) RENAME this new pasted folder and call it "Hotmod" (without quotation marks)
7) Launch Gates of Hell and activate the local version of the mod. It will be called the same, but won't have info like size and last updated date.

You should now be able to connect with anyone who has taken the same steps to move Hotmod from the Steam workshop section to their local mod folder.

There are currently 3 Alliances in Hotmod:
Warsaw Pact (Soviet Union, People's Republic of Poland)
NATO (USA, West Germany)
Non-Aligned (China)

Hotmod 1968 is a project aiming to bring the Cold War to Gates of Hell. As the name suggests, the initial focus of the mod is on the Early to Middle years of the Cold War - the 1950s and 1960s - a period often overlooked in the media and pop culture, but full of interesting post-war political developments and the birth of new technologies. Eventually, we do plan to expand to later periods, 1970+, but that is not our immediate focus.

This mod will include an expansive assortment of vehicles, weapons and equipment from the Cold War period, and encompass NATO and Warsaw Pact (as well as Unaligned) forces in a theoretical WW3 scenario. Currently planned are:

- NATO: USA, Great Britain, France, West Germany
- Warsaw Pact: USSR, East Germany, Czechoslovakia, Poland
- Unaligned: People's Republic of China, Sweden, Yugoslavia

Hotmod will feature many different weapons and vehicles as well as elements of US Air Cavalry, Armored Cavalry and USMC, as well as Soviet VDV, VMF and the Rocket & Artillery Troops, post-war Panzergrenadiers, French Foreign Legions, the BAOR, and more!

The late 1960s was a tumultuous decade in the Cold War. The Bay of Pigs invasion, the Cuban Missile Crisis, the assassination of JFK, the construction of the Berlin Wall, the Gulf of Tonkin Incident & the Vietnam War, France's withdrawal from NATO, the 1967 Arab-Israeli War, the Indo-Pakistani War of 1965, the Civil Rights Movement and King assassination riots, the Cultural Revolution, Prague Spring and the Invasion of Czechoslovakia, May '68, The 68ers, the Sino-Soviet split and the Battle of Zhenbao/Damansky Island - so many potential catalysts that, in some alternate reality, could have sparked World War Three.

It was also a transformative time for the art of war, when the doctrines and technologies that are now commonplace in our modern world first got their start: guided missiles, IFVs, main battle tanks and helicopters began playing an ever-larger role on the battlefield.

Hotmod will showcase the interesting evolution of warfare and how it has changed in the 20 years since the end of World War Two.

- Step 1 [COMPLETE]: Implementing a solid base game with USA and Soviet Union for Skirmish and Conquest modes.
- Step 2 [IN PROGRESS]: Polish/expand core game mechanics.
- Step 3 [IN PROGRESS]: Begin adding new nations.

FYI, Vanilla factions (WW2 Germany, USSR & Finland) have been all but REMOVED from the mod as much as possible due to the way Gates of Hell randomly selects your opponents when starting a Dynamic Campaign.
