This mod builds off of Crynsos' mod by simplifying the amount of formations each unit has and making it more light weight and compatible with other overhaul mods.

Most Spearmen with shields have Spear Wall, Spearmen without a shield have Pike Wall, and units with swords, maces, etc. and also have a shield get Shield Wall.

Most cavalry now have Wedge and Diamond Formation, and flying cavalry have Flying Wedge. In addition, some missile cavalry units have Swooping Crane.

Unfortunately, I can't make the foot soldiers close ranks and get into an actual formation because Warhammer formations are very glitched.

There are also variants of most formations to make it fit more in line with that faction.

(Anyone have a more Warhammery name?) +Cavalry archers run around in a circle. -They'll eventually run out of vigor if they keep in this formation for to long.


If you make a translation, or a sub mod adding units, let me know and I can add it to this page to make it easier to find. It's very easy to make a submod. If you want to add units to your favorite overhaul mod then please do it, because unless I also use that mod I won't take the time to add something like Radious because I don't play it.

didnt really notice that on the older one. they seemed to use them properly.

AI Empire Halberds arent using pikewall. AI Tomb King Spearmen are not using spearwall.
EDIT: seems ai use is disabled entirely. Wonder if an issue caused this. The old one the ai used the abilities without issue for the most part except for spears if i recall.

i love this mod, but sadly it makes Ai cavalry and spearmen kinda stupid....stupider
spearmen typically wont engage with the rest of the army, and cavaly will swap formation at the last second and the stop infront of my lines at sit there and let me shoot them

this works for dwarves. just the shield wall formation for obvious reasons. doesnt work for custom units.

SFO exclusive Tehenuhauin faction unit Red Crested Skinks (shields) don't have the regular shield wall ability like the normal skink counterpart

it's a great mod, especially it's alive, lulz, Some question:|
1/ Will you port this to WH3 soon?!
2/ Could you give unit with shield or spear/halberd Iron Guard formation in order to protect artillery ?!

And by the way, the icons looks great, Kinggelbe is the name of the artist? If he/she releases a "icon pack" kind of mod for Warhammer 2 and 3, that will be a popular mod with the community for sure. I don't have anything against the artists at CA, but they did only a decent job with these games imo, there is potential for a lot of improvements. I wonder if they don't went too far because Games Workshop has some harsh directives that prohibits further customization
