Craigs Jam DSG 3033

Description
Although the main Craigs trains are exclusively hauled by electric locomotives, the company does own one diesel locomotive (two if you count DAC 1546). This is an ex-KiwiRail DSG shunter, originally built in 1982 by Toshiba.

The engine was withdrawn from KiwiRail service in November 2019, after being replaced by newer locomotives. She was sold to Craigs and repainted in their distinctive crimson livery.

Nowadays DSG 3033 is used only as a shunter at Tylah yard. After KiwiRail have dropped off wagons going to/from the jam factory, the DSG shunts them into the yard in readiness for the arrival of the electric locomotive from Matheson.
