Star Control 2 Empires (complete)

Description
Sorry for the blank image, I don't know why it's not being displayed, as far as I can tell I did what I was supposed to do. Now, on with the mod..

This mod brings the races from Star Control 2: The Ur-Quan Masters into Stellaris. It should also be compatible with most mods, although any changes to the default traits could have unintended results.

I've chosen appearances, traits, governments and so on in a way I best feel both best represents each race and makes them fit into Stellaris' mechanics. 22 races in total have been created, with the exception of the Chmmr, which I decided to leave in their pre-joined states (Chenjesu and Mmrnmhrm) so if you want to play as the Chmmr, you'll have to create them yourself.

I suggest the following settings for the galaxy generation for the most authentic experience:
-No Fallen Empires
-Zero or very few primiitves (already a lot of races)
-No Marauder Empires or Caravaneers
-Above Default AI aggressiveness, this is a galaxy at war
-If you use mods that allow specific empires to have an advanced start, both the Ur-Quan Kzer-za and the Ur-Quan Kohr ah should be given advanced starts as they are very ancient races and are the primary antagonists. The Kohr-ah specifically are intended to be the primary villains.

Click the icon to the right of the empires to force their spawn in your game, minus the one you choose to play and select the total number of empires to be generated to the number of AI empires you force spawned (not including your own) which would be 21 AI empires if you choose to play with all the races added by this mod, with you being the 22nd.

Let me know if you enjoy the mod or have any suggestions!

Many thanks to Toys For Bob, Accolade, Crystal Dyamics, and the Ultranomicon wiki at https://wiki.uqm.stack.nl/Main_Page for helping me decide how to write the species bios.

Star Control II: The Ur-Quan Masters was developed by Toys for Bob, and published by Accolade for the DOS and Crystal Dynamics for the 3DO, to great acclaim in 1992.

The Shofixti are part of the Yehat as a syncretic species so they are there. I didn't think they were powerful enough to be their own empire and to better covey the close relationship between them and the Yehat.

I had started making these for myself when I thought: "Has someone else done this?", behold it is! I think I'll take your selections as inspiration and guidance but I have some tweaks of my own to add in. Such as the Yehat Star Clans I made natural physicists since their ships are among the few with functional shields in SC2. Also: No Shofixti?

Thanks! When I get some time I'll check out the AI personalities and Advanced Start type mods and see if they'd spice things up a bit.

Those are very nice. It's a nice showcase of all the designs you can do in Stellaris, too.
Now all that's needed is matching personalities similar to this: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=701432146 or the more involved https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1445329615 - so we can get Spathi hilarity and other SC2 goodness.
Add a few custom events, and it would just be amazing to play.

Okay, yeah, that makes a ton of sense. Also I just realized that you couldn't have the Mycon be fungoids and give them Calamitous Birth.
BoogieMan  [author] Mar 30, 2020 @ 4:08am
I would have, but it requires the Lithoid pack which I don't have and I was trying to limit the amount of DLC required for the mod.

Given that the Mycon use their eggs to populate planets, I'd recommend giving them the "Calamitous Birth" origin.
