Description
A nature mod for Rimworld. New biomes, dynamic terrain, complex plants/farming system and much more.

Check mod incompatibilities here![github.com]

Warning: Unstable beta-release
This mod is currently in a beta state. Most systems should work more or less fine. There still are some balancing issues and higher chances to get errors in uncommon situations. There are also still some simple/bad placeholder textures. Keep in mind that anything can still change and there still may be game-/save-breaking bugs.

Further notes

New biomes - New playstyle
The two big parts of new biomes are caves and islands. Because these biomes are very different from the vanilla biomes the playstyle will also change a lot and you may have to think of new strategies but you will be rewarded with a whole new game experience.
- Caves lack a lot of natural resources that are otherwise very common. You need to get your colony going without much wood and light.
- Infested Mountains have the constant danger of many insectoids, but you can also use them to your advantage in various ways if you manage it right.
- Islands are often isolated and may not provide much space to build. Keep that limitations of building and caravaning in mind. Although isolated doesn't mean raiders won't come over shallow water passages.
- Some islands (especially atolls and skerries) don't have much rock to mine, so clever management and trading is necessary until you can deep-mine ores or get them from mechanoid raids.
- Water provides an additional challenge that doesn't exist in the core game. Long rainy seasons and stormfloods at coastal areas can flood terrain and threaten your base if you build at risky spots.

Important notes

Installation
This mod cannot be added to or removed from existing saves.

Mod incompatibilities
There are many incompatibilities to other mods, mainly because Terra is such a large mod and it does a few deep/impactful changes to some of Rimworlds game systems. You can find an extensive list here[github.com].

Common problems with other mods
- Prison Labor breaks crop sowing
- Bridge mods, Terra has bridges included (they even are floorable!)
- Walls decaying/breaking? A problem with floor mods. Report which mod adds the floor under the decaying wall.
Be sure to check the mod incompatibility list[github.com] for all known problems.

Shame the author decided to bite significantly more than they could ever chew and slapped untested, barely functioning WIP mechanics on the map type&generation mod that was already popular for doing just that.

Coulda made a dev branch if they were so desperate to merge them, or coulda done a better thing yet and made a bunch of separate modules like so many other complex mods, but stepped on a landmine of just doing what was done.

Yeah biomes! is certainly not on the same level as Terra Project...it really is a shame this mod seems to be dead in the water ;w;

I don't think Biomes! is a replacement, since this mod added the ability to settle in an area with multiple biomes as well as flooding and crop irrigation

I'd recommend checking out the Biomes! mod, it's basically a replacement for this as Lanilor has abandoned the RimWorld modding scene

Honestly this has forever been the best biomes and terrain generation mod ever in rimworld. its aboslutely amazing. all the possible types of bases ur able to make is stunning. my favorite was finding the coldest area ever on a planet with a cave biome. the start is brutal but if one manages to get inside the mountain caves and block the entrances off and there is a geothermal vent inside heating it up then its an amazing experience to manage a colony like that
