WOTC port of Yard's Rorsch Mk-1 Railgun (BF4 Railgun), but following the trend, better: instead of being only magnetic tier, now you'll be able to create also a Beam tier (no Conventional tier: it wouldn't make sense between gas-operated weapons). I also fixed the bug of the original mod that made the weapon appear on start: now you'll have to do the appropriate research to buy it. Moreover, all stats are properly configurable in the .ini, including range tables, costs, and the likes. You can also disable one of the two tiers if you'd like. Default stats mirror that of Sniper Rifles.

BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE!

Following my L115 port trend, this gun can actually be used as a Vektor Rifle! In the .ini, modify the line:

BF4RAILGUN_IS_VEKTOR = true

And your Railgun will act as a Vektor Rifle. Both tiers available (Magnetic and Beam) and fully customizable stats and range tables, just search the .ini for:

//Vektor Magnetic Tier
//Vektor Beam Tier

And modify the values underneath to your liking. By default, it mirrors the default Vektor Rifle.

By default, this option is set to "false".

Everything can be tweaked in:
workshop/content/268500/1533920701/Config/XComMG_BF4Railgun.ini

Just throwing this out there, I'd like a railgun that acted like a railgun in Quake, to go through multiple enemies in a line. Surely on a grid system like XCOM couldn't be difficult

I dont know about others but I think the firing sound would be better using the railgun (laser tier) from the legacy missions. It fits the "railgun theme" alot better imo in terms of beef and power, but I was never a fan of the normal laser sounds anyway haha.

@RakkoHug and @Blaidd Grwg sorry guys, I can't find the reason why it behaves like this for the both of you. I'll try to look into it some more but I'm afraid I won't be able to fix it.

For me the rifle can be fired with a single action point. I don't know if there is a setting in the config files to change it. I didn't find anything at least.

Oh Veehementia

I believe I discovered another bug.

It seems that silent killer skill for the reaper does not work for the hair triggered shot when using this gun.
