This mod also allows hero classes to wear shields. -such as Reaper, skirmisher and Templar.While the option may seem unattractive due to poor maneuverability, you will be able to create a variety of strategic variables instead.

It may be a mistake to have Reaper-the master of infiltration be equipped with a Eye-prone-shield. But you can use them as 'invisible full covers' in exchange for some Reaper's movement. Best of all - the Claymore they are equipped to still work. (Claymore skills are not affected by their secondary weapons.)

Equipping skirmishers with shields instead of ripjack gives them some tactical advantages. Although their melee combat power is low - still have their own Grapple. Skirmishers equipped with shields can maintain a high maneuverability while at the same time providing a flexible close range from lower ranks through shield bash.Of course, in return for increased survivability - the efficiency of existing ripjack-related skills will be significantly reduced.

Templar is a most dramatic changes hero class by equipping shields instead of conventional secondary weapons. The templar equipped with the shield is a perfect melee expert and tanker, have the highest level of survivability in return for Low maneuverability and completely losing ranged attack.

Reapers: Yeah, might as well just plaster a giant sign that says "Hey covert sniper over here shoot me"

Skirmishers: Ok fair enough, need to maintain the fight somehow

Templars: This is fine

why does this makes the templar looks like they're using a pistol in the shard place and its "invisible" ?

i did something wrong or its the classes mods i addad?

LWOTC already had on Templar so this mod can't be use with it.

I think I found it, within XComClassData.ini for the mod I added the line for each class and it seems to work, I made the file read-only because I wasn't sure if the AIM Launcher would overwrite the file.

+AllowedWeapons=(SlotType=eInvSlot_SecondaryWeapon, WeaponType="empty")

Hello, is there a way to add an "Empty" slot? This would be to remove the shield when required, some classes like the Skirmisher and Reaper will let you select other weapons but the Templar once you equip the shield it stays there and you can't get him to use both gauntlets as before.

Anyone else have a problem when they uninstall this that it still stays? I removed this mod and started a new game only to have the heroes keep starting with shields. Does anyone know a way to fix this? I have tried reinstalling the XcomEngine.ini and the characterclass.ini but still keep having them spawn with shields.

I've read a lot people saying that templars with shield have messed up arms.
To those people, I suggest trying the mod "invisible parts for hero units". This would allow you to completely remove the right arm.
