Epstein Drive - Functional Version

Description
Re-upload of another mod with additional script.

This version provides 70.0 MN of thrust and requires both electricity and hydrogen.
Up side to this is there are no custom components. Instead you can build them with what you already have.

The thruster will burn hydrogen at a 30x efficiency rating, while the core will use electricity.
At full burn you will require one large ship large reactor running at full power. Or 300MW of power.
While idle the core will use 100MW of power. So turn it off when not moving.
When you turn off the core, any attached thrusters will stop functioning as well.

The core now holds a small amount of hydrogen in it, as it is now a Hydrogen tank, and not just a conveyor.

Ok, I think I am done refitting it for now.

First off the efficiency setting are a mess in SE, since thrusters share their resource usage. So I have removed efficiency, and just set the amount of hydrogen it needs via the power setting. (Which is apparently how you alter that.)

New balance is:
  • Thrust increased to 70MN.
  • Power required reduced to 300MW.
  • Hydrogen used increased to 3MW. (Large ship large hydrogen thruster use 10MW)

This puts the thrust to power ratio at roughly 1/2 the power needed for enough equivalent thrust from ions.
It also has roughly 10 times the thrust of a large hydrogen thruster, and burns 1/3 as much. Making it 30 times as
efficient in that aspect.

So math:
1/30 = 0.03 1/2 = 0.5 0.53 1 / 0.53 = 1.89
This system puts the combination of electric and hydrogen through the epstein at 89% more efficient resource wise than any other combination of vanilla thrusters. It also takes up much less surface area.

This is truely befitting of the Epstein Drive from The Expanse.

  • Engine damage distance reduced from 75 blocks to 30 blocks behind the engine. This should help keep it from being a weapon.
  • Idle, hydrogen burn reduced drastically.
  • Active hydrogen burn reduced.

  • Cone now relentlessly shuts down if there is not a core attached to it.
  • Update trigger set for grid update.

The fix for the other Epstein mods:
Just rename CubeBlocks.SBC to CubeBlocks.sbc. That simple. SE is now execing file extensions with case-sensitivity.

I'm getting this, but if we were going with Expanse-lore accurate Epstein, it should be capable as a weapon and it's damage range should probably be way longer than 75 blocks ( I see that it's only 30 now). However, I understand the reason that this was made so minimal.

So anytime I go too fast using this engine, all my cameras turn off and I die mysteriously. Anyone know why?

With that stated, I know you said just the scripts, but to be clear with my response. The models are mushrooms, so if you do need them, you will need to ask his permission on his mod page.

That has fixed it, I did unsub and resub yesterday but it didn't work, I think it also requires a steam restart sometimes maybe? Thanks anyway working now :)

@Dampiir I tested the mod and it loads and functions as expected. So, this appears to be a specific issue. Two possible ways to address this.
1. Unsubscribe from the mod, wait a few seconds, and resubscribe then test it again. (on client and server)
2. If 1 does not work: Publish your save, and send me the link.

I cannot recreate what ever issue you are having otherwise.

Thanks for the mod work.. Any idea when I place the core it shows up as a oxygen tank in dedicated server. In single player world it seems to work as intended.
