Description
Reflections in water?? Why yes, we can! You can even customize them! This is theme makes sense if your map has small lakes rather than an ocean or very large lake. See "PROS and CONS" section below for other current information on the functions and limitations of this theme. It isn't made to please everyone, so please read!

THE THEME - This is a map theme for my upcoming real-life, to scale map of Walt Disney World in Buena Vista, Florida. The choice of map location is meant to go thematically with the upcoming Park Life DLC. Walt Disney World is essentially its own autonomous county, proviiding all essential services over its very large area. In fact, the property fits perfectly into the true to scale 25 squares of the Cities Skylines map.

HOW TO MAKE CLOUD REFLECTIONS

You need two mods: Daylight Classic and Cubemap Replacer. Subscribe to both.
In content manager in the main menu, click the Mods tab and activate Daylight Classic Mod and Cubemap Replacer. Then click Daylight Classic options and make sure "Classic Fog effect" is is activated. I only activate that and Classic Sun Intensity - the rest inactive, but this is personal taste. Quit to desktop(!) Load your savegame or map, hit the Cubemap Replacer mod button, enjoy sky reflections in any theme that has calm waters!

PROS
- EYE CANDY! A bit more realism in the way water looks
- Lakeside / marsh / fjord cities will look great with the calm waters
- Very nice looking tropical-base theme (that's not easy to do with Tropical lighting :D )
- VERY good for players with lower performance computers while still having nice looking textures. I saved all that memory because the cliff and ruined texture do not have to be a large size (those are usually the largest in my themes ) cliff is only intended to only show up in small areas, and is sized so that it has nice, sharp details on the small scale.
- "Full Grass" lawns with no ruined texture showing make this a very realistic looking map theme for Florida. Better have a green yard in Florida or watch out for the homeowner's association!!!
________________

CONS
- Must use Daylight Classic with Classic Fog Effect activated
- Must deactivate Dynamic Weather
- Cannot use Day/Night cycle until Daylight Classic Classic Fog is developed to be able to work wth Day/Night cycle. It was planned but may or may not be developed in the future
- Eye candy purposes only - reflections are static and of the clouds only, so it does not reflect dynamic things like ships nor city reflections.
- Does not look good on maps with waterfalls and exposed cliffsides. The textures I had to use to make this theme's special appearance cause waterfalls and cliffsides to look too smooth.

Want to do this for your map theme? No magic required! It's just a totally smooth water normal combined with a great water foam normal, the one here was kindly shared with me by MarkFire.

I use it with another cliff theme with exposed cliffs and it looks great that way too. The water is amazing.

Oh, you could have specified what you meant and saved me some time. This isn't a map, it's a map theme. All map themes have to have a cliff texture. Also, I lived in Florida for 10 years, so yeah, your "point" is...
Here's the map it was made for. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1393582584
