Description
Features: 40 Immersive Name Lists for 2.0
This mod offers new original content name lists that are thematically consistent with the base game. This is not a compilation of other mods nor a copy-paste of names from other sci-fi or fantasy settings, although I've drawn inspiration from many of them. Even the smaller lists in this mod are significantly larger than the stock options offered in Stellaris. Some are truly gargantuan with millions of possible names that may appear.

Note that randomly generated empires will only use stock name lists in Stellaris. The game will not assign one of the lists from "Just Name Lists" to a randomly generated empire without further modification, but you can certainly use them with player empires and your custom AI empires!

Compatibility: Universal
This should be inherently compatible with all DLC and all other mods.

Confirmed to support NSC2 insofar as the new ship classes introduced in NSC2 can receive names from any of the lists in Just Name Lists.

To the best of my knowledge, like other name list mods, this will change the checksum since it adds files in the /common folder. Accordingly and unfortunately, it's not achievement compatible.

Thanks Saturnine, glad you've enjoyed both the mod and Iian M. Banks!

So, I have had this mod installed for awhile now and generally enjoyed the extra flavour it offered without much of a second thought. Just lately I've taken to reading The Hydrogen Sonata (followed by several other Culture novels,) and suddenly the quirky JNL Machine 2 list makes perfect, awesome sense.

A+ Mod.

If only I had a computer strong enough to run the most massive game possible...

that is curious

Curiouser, I've found that 5 of the stock Stellaris name lists still have a ship_class_names section: MAC3, HIVE, AVI1, AVI2, HUM1. Also, the NSC-Avian list has a class section. The rest don't...

Then something else is messing with my ship name list. My bad then. i'll try it again

Did some testing. Neither the name lists that are currently included with NSC2 nor, very strangely, the stock name lists in Stellaris contain a ship_class_names section. The stock lists used to have this. I don't know when Paradox took those out of their name lists, but without this section, the new classes introduced in NSC2 and any other mod that creates new classes will not be assigned class names.

ALL of the lists in Just Name Lists, however, have a ship_class_names section with plenty of entries in the generic section. I just tested it and NSC2 classes are assigned class names as normal when using a JNL list. So, Just Name Lists lists already support NSC by default.

I'll take a look and see what it takes to add in specific support for NSC. Thanks again for the heads up.

No idea. But if it happens to your empire, logic dictates that it happens to AI empires too. I believe nsc2 namel lists actually revrites custom namelists. But I'm not sure. Inside NSC2 you can find many namelists so you can see how it is they handle namelists.

Ah, okay that's helpful info. And this happens with both stock name lists and Just Name Lists?
