Description
The mod that adds RPG Mechanics to Starbound!
This mod adds the ability to raise stats and make your character stronger. Defeating monsters grants experience and raises your level. Allocate stat points, unlock techs and weapons, and choose a Profession, Affinity, and Specialization as you level up.

The Mysterious Book acts as the UI for raising stats, among other things.
Craft it from your personal crafting menu, OR to access it without needing an item, download QuickBar Mini: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1088459034

Mechanics!
  • Monsters drop experience orbs that are used to raise your level. Utilize the Mysterious Book, with its various (lettered) tabs, to access most of the important mechanics.
  • Overview Tab (O): view basic information.
    • Toggle Classic Mode for a more classic RPG experience.
    • Toggle Rally Mode for a more difficult experience.
  • Stats Tab (S): view and raise 7 unique stats!
  • Class Tab (C): view and choose between 6 classes, and unlock Class Techs and Weapons.
  • Profession Tab (P): view and choose between multiple professions (some are disabled).
  • Specialization Tab (Z): view and choose between multiple specializations (some are disabled).
  • Affinity Tab (A): view and choose between 4 elemental affinities.
  • Skill Tab (K): improve your character with unique skills.
  • Upgrade Tab (U): view and unequip Upgrade Chips.
    • Upgrade Chips are equipped by using them as a consumable.
  • Mastery Tab (M): convert bonus XP to Mastery, Prestige, or purchase the Mastery Shop.
  • Info Tab (I): see your character's current statistics, such as element resistances.
  • Lore Tab (L): view an in-game changelog, interesting lore, and credits for the mod.

Note: in order to use Techs that require the [G] or [H] keys, denoted by Special Action 2 or 3, you must configure that key in your controls configuration.

To Be Added
  • Additional Professions and Specializations.
  • Balancing Changes.
  • Additional Skills.
  • Unique Quest-lines.
  • Missions and Raid Bosses.
As stated in the Patreon and Discord section above, working on this mod takes a lot of time, and as I am currently working on a game, updates will be sparse. Getting financial support will definitely help with continuing mod development.

Compatibility
  • Yes, this mod should work with Frackin Universe.
  • If there are any problems, just tell me. I will fix them as soon as possible.

Admin Commands
  • XP can be spawned using "/spawnitem experienceorb (amount)".
    • Replace "(amount)" with a number of your choosing!
  • Stats can be spawned via 'stat'point, where 'stat' is replaced with the stat name.
    • eg. Use "/spawnitem dexteritypoint (amount)" to spawn Dexterity.
  • The Mysterious Book can be spawned by typing "/spawnitem RPGskillbook".
  • Freezing Currency with a Cheat Engine can prevent the Mysterious Book from opening due to a currency used to ensure the book is only ever opened once.

I'm running the Explorer class and even when toggled off, the light aura persists. It makes progressing through the Delta Freya dungeon impossible... I'd hate to have to do a full class reset. Any thoughts?

It would also be nice with a physical/bleed affinity for thematic reasons, if the player wants to avoid elemental damage.

it'd be nice if it was possible to move alot of the body techs to head, especially the ninja one, head techs/spheres are generally very underwhelming and uninteresting. especially with frackins feature of techswap letting you swap to sphere at any time.

@Endermnus Frakin' did a lot of sketchy stuff especially Sayter (total Narcissist egomaniac), this is a post that gathered all the bad shit https://www.reddit.com/r/starbound/comments/1dfbka8/frackin_universesayter_controversies_gathered_in/

I think Frackin Universe is for people, who like factories, bees, madness things and such.

@kirbyfreak Alrighty. I did hear about Fraken Universe, but since it is pretty much a difficulty and universe overhaul mod, I decided against it for my first time around. I decided to go with RPG growth mainly because I like RPG systems in games like these. Did the same for Terraria and Minecraft as well. However, I might look at Arcana in later playthroughs since that interested me more than Fraken. Either way, than you for the information! This helps a lot, and puts to rest a lot of doubts and such.
