Do I really need to download the actual unreal engine to mod ark?
I mean it's 11Gb download. From the description, I thought the ark dev kit was standalone, but I have already tried it, and it says I got it, but the only thing that appears on the epic launcher downloads section is the unreal engine itself.

I just wanted to see if I could make a skin for the scuba tank to remove the tank...

Well the ark dev kit is ~200Gb so if you've only got 11 you don't even have the ark dev kit yet.

Aye, the Ark Dev Kit is a modified version of unreal engine 4.5.1
Search the -game- storefront of the epic launcher for ark and you should be able to find the ark editor/mod kit
And as ShaZZa mentioned... it's about 200+GB
It's not just the engine. it's all of the game assets, sounds, textures, models, and blueprints.
It's everything except the C++ source code itself.
