I think it should work without DLC as I can't recall using any DLC only features, but I must admit I haven't tested it for that.
colinrobertwilliams0325 Mar 11, 2022 @ 9:51am
Are there any DLCs needed for this mod?
Valkorion Apr 9, 2020 @ 1:19pm
can you update it for the heir designation or upload it as a seperate mod?
Eternantium Mar 9, 2020 @ 5:51pm
Thanks!
Cironian  [author] Mar 9, 2020 @ 6:26am
That's just a configuration in common/governments/feudal_governments.txt, as it uses the normal revoke system.

Just add whatever tiers you want free revoke on to the free_revoke_on_tiers block. You can find an example in the muslim_goverment block.
Eternantium Mar 8, 2020 @ 10:42pm
Can you tell me what file I have to mod in order to change the title revokation thing? I'm trying to mod the future but I can't find the targetted decision anywhere, unless it's hard-coded.
CHIMachieved Sep 1, 2019 @ 7:50pm
You got a manual download for us boi?
truelove101992 Aug 26, 2019 @ 11:47pm
There seems to be an issue with the Simbasileus minor title. It keeps its Greek name when used with Roman culture characters (according to the other mod with that modern title, it's supposed to instead be Caesar Nobilissimus when used with characters of Roman culture.
BoganTheLastard (Florida Man Arc Jun 23, 2019 @ 7:57pm
Gotcha
Cironian  [author] Jun 21, 2019 @ 6:41am
The mod is not yet updated for Holy Fury, as I am quite content with the system in that patch as it is. I might port over some parts at a later time, but I dont have a complete plan yet how the result should look.
BoganTheLastard (Florida Man Arc Jun 20, 2019 @ 5:16pm
So the new imperial government allows the Romans to hold cities, but this mod does not allow that. What gives?
Undying_Viking Feb 16, 2019 @ 1:57am
mine doesn't even look like that wth
Cironian  [author] Feb 15, 2019 @ 11:34pm
That's just the old standard UI from a few patches ago.
Undying_Viking Feb 15, 2019 @ 11:32pm
for the mod main picture of the bryzantine empires emperer, how do you guys have it set up to where the artifacts is under the faction like that? Is it a dlc or a mod?
Dimitrius145 Dec 21, 2018 @ 6:04pm
If you update the mod can you add some of the relics the empire had like those from the true cross?
Webhead89 Nov 3, 2018 @ 12:09pm
Yea that's what I'd hoped. I love the mechanic you have where you keep playing the Basileus and won't be demoted if your dynasty loses emperorship, but I don't think the system they're intruducing will do that - hence why I'd still like to use your mod.
Cironian  [author] Nov 3, 2018 @ 11:06am
That system seems to do a lot of the things I wanted to achieve with this mod already, so the heir designation is kind of obsolete. I'll probably look into making it an adoption mechanic instead, where you can pick a non dynastic heir, but I'll have to get a feel for how the base mechanic is balanced first.
Webhead89 Nov 3, 2018 @ 9:28am
Will you be updating this along with the revamped Byzantine Imperial system in Holy Fury?
Auðun Oct 6, 2018 @ 2:28am
vassals randomly inherit the empire
Putler Kaput Aug 23, 2018 @ 10:56am
I found one error. When you play as a byz vassal you get Anarchy as goverment_flavor graphic.
Cironian  [author] Aug 22, 2018 @ 11:54am
Not sure what I can tell you. It works fine for me and for others.
Classic Swede Aug 22, 2018 @ 10:41am
@Cironian Whenever i start using this mod, it crashes immediatley. None of my other mods are conflicting, i tested all of them.
Cironian  [author] Aug 22, 2018 @ 9:06am
@whuchurface: No, not in this mod.
Cironian  [author] Aug 22, 2018 @ 9:05am
@Medivek: If your underlings manage to force you to change the rules of succession, then you are obviously not respected enough as an Emperor to decide who should succeed you. While something like Gavelkind did not happen in RL, there were some occasions where Elective actually describes the open-for-all nature of the struggle during succession quite well IMO.
whuchurface Aug 21, 2018 @ 4:46pm
Could you add a Muslim version of the governments for us Heathens who like to play as muslims in the Byzantine Empire
Putler Kaput Aug 19, 2018 @ 3:23pm
I think this is a great mod but maybe you could mod somhow that Byzantine will never change its sucession law to election or gavekind? And add more opttions for vassals to claim empire for their own. Civil wars were a roman tradition afterall : )
István Bógnar Aug 4, 2018 @ 5:44am
Ah, crap, yeah I have gavelkind succession. Gotta get that fixed I guess. Thanks.
Cironian  [author] Aug 4, 2018 @ 5:40am
Hmm. One condition to grant the Symbasileus title is that you have Primogeniture. Did you switch away from that in your in progress game? Also, you can be neither Muslim nor Zoroastrian.
István Bógnar Aug 4, 2018 @ 5:16am
I just didn't have the title of symbasileus. But the issue seeems to be that I added the mod mid-save, maybe? I started a new game for testing and the title is there. Since the rest of the mod works fine it didn't immediately cross my mind.
Cironian  [author] Aug 4, 2018 @ 12:34am
Does it really not work on death or does it not update the displayed heir? Because most of the magic happens by script when the emperor dies, I can't mess with how the heir on the char sheet is shown.

If it doesn't work, I need more information in what circumstances if fails.
István Bógnar Aug 3, 2018 @ 6:36pm
Hey, heir designation doesn't seem to be working for me in the Legacy of Rome Roman Empire (no other mods). Is there anything I have to do to get that working?
Dimitrius145 Jun 11, 2018 @ 1:37pm
Better than the DLC
Canon Apr 6, 2018 @ 10:41pm
Turns out wtwsms is just e_byzantium and e_wre
Cironian  [author] Apr 6, 2018 @ 12:40am
The mod as it is available references "e_byzantium" and "e_roman_empire" in several places. If you want it to work with another mod that has different tags than those two for the ERE (or the Iron Throne or whatever :-D ) you have to put them in all of those places instead.
Webhead89 Apr 5, 2018 @ 7:39pm
I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to modding. I know my way around the files but I'm unsure how to "switch the tags" or know which files alter the gov type in
Cironian  [author] Feb 17, 2018 @ 1:28am
Have you got any other mods running that override the feudal government types?
Lollard Heretic Feb 16, 2018 @ 5:12pm
Byzantium/Rome is still "fedual" government type for me. Can't revoke titles.
Canon Feb 14, 2018 @ 4:57pm
All that should be needed is removing the gov type (WTWSMS has one already) and changing the tags around
Cironian  [author] Feb 14, 2018 @ 8:50am
I don't play WTWSMS, sorry. But I think it should be easy enough for someone to port over, maybe switch some tags.
Webhead89 Feb 12, 2018 @ 3:52pm
This looks great. Could you possibly adapt it to the Eastern Roman Empire with the "When the World Stopped Making Sense" mod?
McDen 2: Electric Boogaloo Dec 30, 2017 @ 8:36pm
Hail the last roman!
Assadads Nov 26, 2017 @ 12:30am
Thanks a lot! I'll try it out!
Cironian  [author] Nov 25, 2017 @ 5:26am
I also noticed that 2.8.0 views the mod as Ironman compatible, so enjoy it while it lasts. ;-)
Cironian  [author] Nov 25, 2017 @ 5:25am
Should be all compatible with 2.8.0 now. This update should also fix the government flavor issue.
Assadads Nov 24, 2017 @ 9:06am
The mod works but it seems to get rid of the new Monastic Feudal government for Tibetan Buddhists (they spawn as just regular feudal) and there's been the recurring problem of the mod eliminating the government flavor names for everyone but Byzantium.
Cironian  [author] Nov 22, 2017 @ 7:33am
Sorry, haven't gotten around to converting it to 2.8.0 yet, sorry. I hope to make time for it this weekend.
terry3527 Nov 21, 2017 @ 9:33pm
is it wordking in 2.8.0?
Andro Sep 4, 2017 @ 12:53pm
Perfect mod, i wish guys from Paradox would made it part of Legacy of Rome DLC pack, however i'm so glad you made it. Big thanks from huge byzantinophile :easternromanempire:
TigerWave01 Aug 19, 2017 @ 8:27am
This mod is EU4 converter compatible?
Corvin Ceasar Aug 6, 2017 @ 9:50pm
WorstPlayerEver Jul 10 @ 4:22am

I have seen this bug before, w/o the mod. I'm trying to remember what the specific cause was, but I remember having to check traits, check the "should-be-heir's" government type, and check to see if the "should-be-heir" is also heir to a bishopric or a mercenary company, or has any claims to any odd titles.

Hope this can be helpful
