Looking into it again, the Paladins I believe are actually supposed to be hostile to Skeletons. They hate all non humans. You can with time fix it, but the start is meant to be that you have always been a part of their nation.

Not that I'm aware of. I havent touched this project for some time now. You could try rerolling the start location as most of the various starts have multiple starts, but the game has likely changed so much. If there's enough desire maybe I could spend a few hours fixing up some of these things especially if people provide me solutions.

It shouldn't be an issue with the mod as I believe it only adds a fat stack of cash and some slightly randomized gear. I haven't played this game in some time unfortunately, but I'm so glad people are still enjoying it.

So I started with the Rich Adventurer start, and the game crashes every time I open my inventory. Other than that, it works fine, but anything that would open my inventory crashes the game. Idk if it's the specific start, or if it's an issue with the mod

Empire of nobody is essentially asking for characters to die of starvation, there is very few ways you can realistically start with 256 characters in Bast with no food or money, and hope to feed them all somehow. Hell, I don't think the nearby taverns have enough food in it to feed 256 individuals daily even if you had acquired it somehow.

Not that them starving to death is a problem... its just a different way to do things. My plan is to essentially have a band of starving bandits, and the ones that survive long enough for me to obtain all the money I could need will be the ones important enough to name.

Bandit Retirement is a interesting start. Probably the easiest place to train up your thievery skills with a bit patience but still pretty fast. Your friends won't directly follow you so you can sneak and assassinate and steal occassionaly dropped items in the prison area safely :)

I suppose it's possible but I sort of doubt it, this mod is essentially compatible with everything outside of something that removes the possibility to do custom starts for some reason.

I did check to make sure that the slave party was made correctly and as far as I see it should work and you should start with 1-5 enslaved people.

Oh there's a chance that's not working correctly, but they should be under a separate tab from party, as they are marked as actual slaves for your character.

They are not meant to be part of your squad. You honestly could just leave without them, the challenge is escaping. You might be able to re enslave lol

I try to keep it relatively up to date, but I admit I don't always bother with it. But I figure why make something just to abandon it totally? Chances are however that most of these starts will work unless there is a major change to the way starts are handled. More likely that 1 or 2 starts would break rather than the entire mod. If this game had linux support I'd work on it more often. I might set up a VM specifically to update this mod though haha

It's really great, honestly. Easily the best set of starts I've found.
Props for keeping it updated too, some of the things I've seen got abandoned and broken years ago with kenshi changes.

It'd be hard to justify clones of the same start honestly. I encourage you to simply modify it yourself though, it's quite easy. You might even find you can make your own starts mod too! I tried to make each start as unique as possible, doubling down on one start but starting as a different faction might be kind of silly in my opinion. Glad you like the mod though!

Would love to see more Silvertongue style starts for various ninja factions of the world. Swamp ninjas/Red sabers are obvious option for a direct copy with different factions but having a Black Desert Ninjas or Sand Ninjas starts would be super cool as well.

Hey Droante, the professor starts with the tech from _Default Start, _start-freedom seekers, Light Wind Generator Theory, Medicine, Basic First Aid Kits, Basic Furniture, Basic Weapon Grades, Basic Weapon Smithing, Beds, Clothing Manufacture. It's honestly just a high tech start so you can kinda do what you want while still starting solo. Happy to take suggestions for refinement tho. I dont actually play this game that much if you can't tell so I dont know what would be the most fun always.

Machina, the slave starts should be working as expected. I checked the settings and nothing stands out as broken. I even checked the vanilla "The Slaves" start.

I also removed the real world politics reference and just made a new description for the professor.

But with these two small updates I am willing to continue working on this now tho.

Lol I actually thought about that last time I replied to a post but never bothered to fix it. It was a stupid joke for sure, but until I can update the mod there's no real reason just to change the mod description as far as I see it

But again, yeah, it's dumb. easy to ignore tho till I eventually actually work on this again.

It's probably outdated now, safest bet would be assuming that the guy making the game changed something that messed up the research. I do plan on fixing it eventually, but I'm kind of waiting for a major update that pulls me back into the game. I'll see about fixing it soon tho, or if nothing else removing the start if it doesnt work as intended and cant be fixed easily. I just need to reinstall the game and the kit and get steam to give me the mod files back and whatnot.

Probably cause it's out dated. I havent added anything to this for some time now. Also I dont edit any vanilla files, albiet they are used but not changed in any way. This is compatable with anything. The vanilla slave start isnt anything I touched. The one I made, is meant to be a single person.

A problem with both the slave starts, as in no matter which one you choose, you only get one enslaved character, instead of the vanilla two, I don't have any other extended start mods, so nothing else should be interfering with the mod. If you could look into this and see if theres something going on than that would be cool, thanks.
