I'm retiring this old girl. You can find the new version here:

I really appreciate the support and kudos from everyone since I submitted this months ago. The commentary, the upvotes, and the suggestions from all of you have been great!

Glad you enjoy! I'll be doing an Alpha 7 version to accommodate the smaller warp drive soon.

Very nice ship! I grapping it from enemy and find here! TNX for this - its Bestest ship for start!
(Шикарный кораблик для старта - и можно в итоге его укрепить и модифицировать)

If you add a drill laser, that's where the ore automatically goes to.

I almost didn't include it, but the price was barely more expensive than a walkway floor board

Love the ship. Whats the Cargo box (harvest) for?
ei8htx  [author] Sep 8, 2017 @ 7:57pm
Thanks!

Excellent starter CV - everything necessary, low cost and looks a million times better than the flying bricks I come up with!

Freshly updated for 6.5! Copy of the changelog follows:

- Fixed up some tiles missing textures
- Added red door light with a cool little circuit that'll turn on the red light when you're near the door and not on the ship.
- Widened the near door detection range by 1 block each side (left and right of ramp)
- Rearranged the armor locker, repair station, core, fuel tank, and OnShip sensor. The armor locker model was changed in 6.5 and now takes up the whole ground, preventing access to the cargo box below. This prompted me to rearrange a bit, and now you can access the fuel tank directly. So yes, you can cook yourself now, but the fuel tank radiation was lowered so much that it's pretty negligible when in no suit, and completely neglibible if wearing anything.

Thanks, guys!

Really amazing CV. Has everything you need plus more! Cant afford much early on and this lasts for even after you get a BIG cv. I just use it for mining at that point. So I feel it never loses its usefulness!

Thanks so much for your work on designing this :)
KingOfCurtopia Jul 17, 2017 @ 8:06pm
This thing is great. Add a few bits and it can hold some weapons. Every time a chunk gets blown off I replace it with combat steel. It's starting to look very strange :D

You're welcome!

My starter CV for every new game! Thanks.
Asporc Jul 13, 2017 @ 12:27pm
This ship worked quite well for me in the beginning. But Maybe you should give it a few Sentry guns direct in the Blueprint.
ei8htx  [author] Jul 8, 2017 @ 9:14pm
I'm sure it's just a coincidence. You could try submitting a bug report on Empryion's forums.

Love this design. So compact and resource-efficient!
ei8htx  [author] Jun 17, 2017 @ 9:31am
Just realized I swapped an interior light for a spotlight. That's probably why they haven't changed.
ei8htx  [author] Jun 17, 2017 @ 9:30am
I've updated the design a bit:

- Added sloped spotlight block to the interior. While the spotlight cube is slightly more aesthetically pleasing, most players will probably find the slope version more useful, especially for finding targets on the ground in the dark. Its placement inside also protects its rather weak 25hp body from damage.

- The range on the ramp/door proximity sensor has been extended downward (in the z direction) by one block. I've found that being parked on a gradual hill can often cause the player not to be so easily detected.

- Updated cover art (stormy!)

Whats awesome is that the resources haven't changed. Just the spotlight was added, and it's resources are so minimal, they must have been rounded within 1 whole ingot from whatever was left over from glass, steel plate, and metal components.
ei8htx  [author] Jun 15, 2017 @ 3:32pm
I like the approach. I do prefer practicality over aesthetic (which is why I named this after the mite family). Ill take another wack at it this weekend.

Maybe they'll bump the HP to somewhere between a steel block and a glass window for base and CV placements one day.

I actually filled out a bug report during the experimental phase about the sensors turning off when seated but Hummel said he believed this was by design. In this case at least I can use it to my advantage.
Entity Jun 15, 2017 @ 1:32pm
This is how I added the spotlights: http://i.imgur.com/nvjlvkR.png

The blue blocks were already there, they only changed shape to provide a location for the spotlights.
It does break the aesthetic a little bit but this is supposed to be a practical ship anyway :)

And you're right regarding the sensor not detecting you when seated, but I'm kind of hoping they fix that.
ei8htx  [author] Jun 15, 2017 @ 8:40am
Entity, I'd like to add in the sloped spotlight, but I can't find a decent place to put it.

It could go right in the front below the window, but then we're trading a 500hp block for a 25hp block. This block is right in front of the cockpit.

I'll think about this. Maybe I can find somewhere else to place it. Otherwise I may just leave it as an option to the user.

When you fly the ship, the motion sensors stop detecting you. You'll notice this when you jump in the cockpit, as the lights will turn off. These lights are linked to the same sensor that turns off the gravity gen and the repair station.
Entity Jun 15, 2017 @ 4:09am
Nice compact and cheap design.

I recommend adding another motion sensor to only enable the repair station when you're directly in front of it. No point having it on while flying the ship.

Maybe also add the new sloped spotlights so you can see where you're flying when it is dark.
ei8htx  [author] Jun 14, 2017 @ 11:20pm
dds|Btk, make sure you don't have any damage; missing window, block, etc. So long as the ship is powered, you'll have controlled temperature.

Cyrus, Running, thanks!!!
Running Jun 14, 2017 @ 7:49pm
Five star build. Very nice work on this CV. It has everything you need.
Cyrus Jun 14, 2017 @ 4:37pm
Love this little ship! A couple minor modifications have made this my go-to 'starting' CV!!
Btk101 Jun 14, 2017 @ 9:08am
hi, - why it´s so cold? .. i die in the Orbit..

Hit P and just click fill or you can access the tanks via P also.
Tasso Jun 12, 2017 @ 1:47pm
How do I get access to the fuel tank? Can't figure out how to turn the damn thing on haha!
Kelvin04 Jun 11, 2017 @ 2:27pm
Alright! Message me when its done, im Subscribed to this.
ei8htx  [author] Jun 11, 2017 @ 11:32am
Kelvin, I have a couple unpublished designs for a minimalist 6.0 base. I'll try and get it so I'm completely happy with it and push it up.
ei8htx  [author] Jun 11, 2017 @ 11:31am
Deranged, that's my game too. I keep the CV away from danger and go in with a heavy SV like my Banshee. I go through so many I don't even bother to christen them with a name anymore :(

Thanks for the kudos, I hope you enjoy it!
Deranged 101 Jun 11, 2017 @ 8:22am
Combine this with an SV with heavy combat capabilities and you have one excellent starter CV! Love the elevator hatch to the roof - nice touch. Gonna take this for a test drive in my current game! :2016villain:
Kelvin04 Jun 10, 2017 @ 10:56pm
Could you make a 6.0 Ventilated Colonization pod, for living on harsh foreign planets?
Im in real need of a minimalistic living home.
Kelvin04 Jun 10, 2017 @ 10:55pm
Thanks!
Loving it!
ei8htx  [author] Jun 10, 2017 @ 10:40pm
Yes it is! Should be just what you need to get off the planet and out the system.
Kelvin04 Jun 10, 2017 @ 10:29pm
Is it jump capable?
Hah.

Great for the quick escape from planet!
How much does it cost? How many iron? Sathium?
