I had a poor perfomances until match 20 of the season, I decided to applied this tactics then I won 8 from 10 matches and draw 1. And most achievements is I won League Cup 4-0 against Liverpool. Pretty amazing

i loved this in FM17. any plans to test this in FM19?
Vespasianus Corvus Oct 5, 2018 @ 12:01am
Worked with this tactic on 23 mediocre and lower league teams across Europe. Most of them won the title or promoted, all of them overperformed. So a huge "thank you" for that.

Premier league title 3 years in a row with Liverpool, plus two FA Cups, two league cups and a europa league trophy. This tactic is insanely good.

Rediculous tactic!! I've used it from day 1 with Maidenhead Utd and only tweaked the set pieces to suit my players. Back to back league wins and about to start 20/21 season in the championship.....The only problem I have is that I'd rather the IWB crossed more than shot themselves but then I'd be winning games by 5 or 6 goals...great work.

I went a man down in the Europa league as a Dutch team. Switched to this tactic. Scored 3 goals. Against Man City. I was amazed.
damianp30 Jul 24, 2017 @ 11:23am
This tactic has helped my Austria team get results they have no right to achieve, with some great goals scored too!

Trump??Make football great again??
jason7smith Jul 14, 2017 @ 8:36am
Great tatic mate! Can anyone suggest 3 decent SS for a Manchester United team?
Limey Offering Jul 8, 2017 @ 5:20am
What does Trump have to do with this tactic?
Bear Jul 4, 2017 @ 10:58pm
The best thing about this tactic is the beautiful team goals you get. I got 3, almost 4, players with 20 goals this season and almost all of them come from quick passes around the box or smart through balls. You get so much room at the top, it's insane!
Bear Jul 4, 2017 @ 10:50pm
Second game, home, against Club Brugge. Easy game as they got many players out with injuries. Won 3-0 with several rotations in the team.
Third game, away at Camp Nou, Barcelona!
I honestly thought this would be the game I would get pummeled, barely winning against United, full Barcelona squad (Messi, Neymar, Suarez, Busqets... the lot). 23 minutes played and disaster! Red Card to one of my young strikers (2nd yellow). Then in the 27th minute, GOAL foz r ME! I scored at Camp Nou with one less man. Then again in the 70th minute, 0-2, I can't believe this! Ended up winning 0-2 and it was deserved looking at statistics.
3 games in the CL group stage and won all 3, played the 2 best teams away. Now I'm imagining where this can end, could I really win the CL with this tactic- with such a small club?
CRAZY!
Bear Jul 4, 2017 @ 10:50pm
To my horror i ended up getting into group A in the CL which has Club Brugge (my partner club), Man United (2nd in EPL) and Barcelona (defending CL champions). Cursing and shouting over the draft, after the club director sold 3 of my core players (one week before transfer window closed), I decided to make the best out of it and just play the tactic and see where it takes me.
First CL game, away, against Man United. Great... right into the fire. Ended up scoring the first goal (after 11 minutes) before Rashford equalized 3 minutes later. Then followed 75 minutes of tight and fierce football, United had 3 shots in the bars, I had 2 situations alone with De Gea. In the 90th minute (90:43) my team managed to score, 1-2, HEAVEN! Maybe not deserved but not completely BS!
Bear Jul 4, 2017 @ 10:48pm
Decided to try this tactic with a second division Norwegian team, Jerv, and got a direct promotion while absolutely dominating the league with average 65% posession and a +60 goal difference.
After that season i got the job at the biggest Norwegian club, Rosenborg, and won the cup and league in the same dominant fashion. Now in my second season in Rosenborg and got through the playoffs for Champions league and ended up winning the league cup again.
nippotter1 Jun 27, 2017 @ 11:05am
best tactic ever won 32 trophys in 7 seasons
FoodByCourts Jun 27, 2017 @ 1:15am
This tactic is amazing. Using it for Spurs. Started using it halfway through my first season, was behind Arsenal by 7 points. Ended up winning the league, the FA Cup and getting to the final of the CL, losing on penalties. Most surprising thing is that it's turned by wing backs Rose and Walker into absolute goal machines! Highly recommended!!
b3nskiFM Jun 24, 2017 @ 10:05pm
Was doing great with my own tactic but thought I'd give this one a go !! WOW......its rather good. The only thing I've tweaked is the set pieces but otherwise it got my Borehamwood FC side into league 1 and having taken over Reading FC it got then From second bottom at Christmas (when I took over) to promotion via the playoffs.

First season in EPL we finished 5th and qualified for UEFA cup. A few motnhs into the current season and we're 4th in the EPL and won 3 from 3 in the UEFA cup league stage. Still in all domestic cups too.

Easily the best tactic I've used.
Samfordia Jun 24, 2017 @ 2:32pm
...

Since leaving Hibs, Celtic have gone on to win the both of the titles, and again are dominant. Just goes to show how good this tactic is. Juventus were also thread bare and ageing. I'm at the point now where the AI is starting to work it out so I'm trying a couple of adjustments in order to disguise it a little.

Best performing tactic I have used to date.
Samfordia Jun 24, 2017 @ 2:32pm
So I've finally finished testing this tactic and it's pretty amazing.

I moved to Hibernian in 2022/2023 from a couple of Finnish clubs and started using Gamebreaker. With a very weak squad I managed to get 3rd. My second season there I started with Strikerless and won the title, thus ending Celtics 12 year dominance. I did the same the year after and added the domestic cup as well. This was a huge achievement as my wage cap was 6k per week compared to Celtic that could off at least 70k to a single player. Thjose two titles got me a move to Juventus where I've spent two seasons and won everything I could possibly have won. The second season I won a total of six trophies.

OP tactic, I'm in second season as Derby. Got 2nd in my first season and right now top 4 in premier league. Have Andreas Pereira as the central SS, 6 goals 5 assists in 10 games, Jony ( from Malaga), Vydra, Tom Ince, Martin, Nugent and Lasagna as the side ones.
namaspamus Jun 16, 2017 @ 9:25am
Been using this with great success with a small team.

Retraining Defensive Midfielders or Box-to-Box into Inverted Wing Backs works wonder, they tend to do a good job in this system where WBs are almost midfielders and naturals might lack vision/passing a bit.

For holding a result or huge underdog, I remove one AMC to add a Defensive Midfielder, it's insanely solid and you can still score on counters. Just won the Champion's League using this tweak a lot (...yyyeeeEEESSSSSSS!)

Also if some SS tends to dribble too much and waste too many balls, I find useful to switch him to Attacking Midfielder role, as Shadow Strikers have the "dribble more" instruction hard-coded in the role. They'll score just as much.

one tacticts that actually works form other hundreds
Dean Jun 11, 2017 @ 3:44pm
its similar to a few strikerless formations but all perform amazing, nice to see creative cm's though good job.
Paulos Jun 9, 2017 @ 2:51pm
Absolutely insane tactic! First season with Bournemouth and finished Third in the league and won the FA cup!
tinbum Jun 9, 2017 @ 8:26am
Holy crap, this thing's amazing!:steamhappy:

This is without a doubt the best tactic I used so far in FM17. Won the league with Atletico, 98 points, 102 goals scored, 18 conceded, also won the Champions League. Had to sell most of my key players like Griezmann, Saul, Gimenez, Carrasco because they were whining about joining bigger clubs, and then I signed a bunch of "wonderkids" and good, but affordable young players.
I'd highly recommend Kai Havertz from Leverkusen for SS, he is 17 at the beginning of the game, and in his second year, he scored 31 times in 45 matches (15 assists), avg rating 7.8. Also, if you can get him, Berardi works very well as SS, although he is by default only a natural winger / striker, he had an avg rating of 8.07, which was the first time I ever had a player have an avg rating over 8.
Highly recommended, I switched over from "Maldini doesnt tackle", and don't regret it for a second.
oberernst Jun 7, 2017 @ 3:12pm
A true gamebreaker, turned Firmino and Mane into the two best performing players in Europe in my first season w/Liverpool.
parkerjamisonfilm Jun 7, 2017 @ 1:09pm
I've never commented on here before but just have to for this: genius tactic. The best imported setup I've ever found. Bravo and well done and thanks for sharing!

hey new to this..... How do i add this tactic to ingame
Samfordia Jun 6, 2017 @ 4:39am
I'm going to have my squad learning this as I use Gamebreaker. Looks like it may be convenient seeing as they both don't use wingers.
maxpynaert Jun 5, 2017 @ 12:37pm
It's been difficult to move away from this strikerless, nothing is as good.
butters Jun 5, 2017 @ 6:44am
once u play any striker less tactic, its hard to really try to make a good 4231, the truth is that ME fails to counter striker less tactics.
Reck  [author] Jun 5, 2017 @ 5:51am
@cerevor Either Sell him and replace with a decent SS or retrain. I cant see Lukaku being a decent SS though. But try it! :soccerball:
Cerevor Jun 5, 2017 @ 5:41am
Mama mia, what a great tactic! I have a question: if I manage a team that has a world class striker, Lukaku for instance, how do I go about integrating him as he can't play as AM/SS?
Reck  [author] Jun 5, 2017 @ 4:07am
There was a blanket wipe. It was a nuke! We used it. We regret it!
maxpynaert Jun 5, 2017 @ 3:53am
That was well spelt...

*similarities
maxpynaert Jun 5, 2017 @ 3:50am
Deleting comments is poor, I only mentioned its similartys to my tactic!!!

What is there to worry about?

Definitely exploits the match engine though.
Keens Jun 5, 2017 @ 3:39am
Really good tactic! I use this one and my own 3-4-3, with iwb and cams instead of wingers, played 10games with these tactics so far and got 7wins, 2draws, 1loss only conceding 4goals and scoring 21goals, so great work with this tactic!
FridayNightFM Jun 3, 2017 @ 11:22am
Watched this tactic get developed live on stream and as always, starts as an original creation.

The IWB (L&R) began life as WM in a flat 4 in the midfield and it was small tweaks to the system that made this tactic as successful as it has been - another example would be the central SS, at the start of this tactic development the player role was Enganche, but as the streams went on The_Reckonist switched up to a SS to get the desired effect.

If anyone has negative comments around the orginality of The_Reckonist's tactics, I suggest you pop yourself into his live streams on Wednesday, Friday & Sunday's from 19:00 GMT.
