Was a great mod. Shame the developer just dipped out and doesnt let anyone carry it on.

WalkingProblem is a modder that's a bigger diva than even Oskar Potocki.
At least that guy produces results, and sometimes remakes mods that he feels have grown obsolete or outdated.

WalkingProblem did a few cool things, then bitched out of updating them when the game got further updates. And now took his ball (this mod) and went home, because if everyone refuse to play by his exact rules, then NO ONE can play with his ball AT ALL.

Seems like Singaporeans can be bigger bitches than Swedes, after all.

TLDR; You cant sell something you dont have the right to sell

modders cant sell the rights to their mods since they never own the work to begin with assets etc for mods of any game belong to the rights holder of the base game the mod is for so legally any mod belongs to whoever owns the rights to said game, hence why devs can either just assimilate popular mods and give zero credit to the mod author or even pay them if they dont want too. There is also the fact of what ever license the mod dev put it under if any and most of those make it illegal to sale it for money nvm the fact that it loops back to the first part of what I said.

I've replaced this mod with a few mods.
- Vanilla Factions Expanded - Insectoids 2
- Better Infestations
- Insectoids Evolved (Continued)
And for humanoid bugs, Insectors, Mantodeans, Big and Small - Xeno-Insectoid Hive.
I have all of the bugs that I could ever want to fight.
And no need for diva - modders that demand that the game be never updated again.

Yeah, if the mod maker is gonna be a whiny baby and demand that DLCs and patches for RimWorld stop coming out just because he refuses to periodically update his mods, I'm gonna just unsub. Vanilla Factions Expanded - Insectoids 2 will probably come out this year, and it will be better than this mod ever was. And it will be kept up to date, too.

Lol what a load of selfishness but within his right. "I prefer the game stays unupdated and purchasers of the product robbed from continuous improvements to game design so I don't have to maintain my projects". Got it.

Just to reiterate: Walking Problem stated this on his Discord - "Tentatively, I'm not gonna spend time on the mods as long as there is no guarantees that the mods can be forever be usable. I'm not gonna enslave myself to the developer's whim to updating his game that breaks every mod."

Further, He refuses to allow anyone to update his mods.

That's a funny position to have honestly since Tynan has been beyond accommodating to modders. Even funnier since a submod for this mod is updated when the main mod isn't lol.

I'd understand if this was like Stellaris (RIP so many mods and my mod list) or something but it's really not

please update. i know updating your mods every time the game updates sucks but its pretty standard practice since the days of beta minecraft modding.

I have sufficient reason to suspect that this mod has stopped updating, so I have to unsubscribe from this mod. Although this is regrettable, it is currently my only solution.

(i havent tried with "stuffs" but there might be a way to build at least a coop, using materials that are flame resistant, especially with other mods)

this is my dads favorites mod, not becuase he plays Rimworld, but because the one time he watched me play it, this mod ruined a 14 year run when tankers bombarded my base with blue artillery before 30 hoppers crashed through my massive indoor greenhouse and farm and torched it all within literal seconds, that was 300+ chickens GONE INSTANTLY... then jackass randy decided "hey, wouldnt it'd be funny if i sent 3 different spacer raids...."
he mentions that playthru every single time pc gaming comes up in a conversation and I just have to sit there like my chickens didnt deserve that.

Nothing happened for me. I had fallen empire as the only other faction to try and maximise all events to be arachnids. I got simple 2 tiny bombardment bug events in over a year then I gave up.

I tried spawning them by development mode, and I notice that if you have an enclosure surrounding your pawns which they can shoot out of with the standalone heavy machine guns, you are immune to arachnid attacks unlike other factions who will break down the door.

Am I doing something wrong?

After coming back to play Rimworld after half a year and spending a few hours trying to figure out the bombardier bug I reported back in November I finally managed to figure out what it was.
In the Races_Bugs.xml the bombardier bug's baseHealthScale entry was 0.01, this was causing some weird interactions with other mods because it was so low. I ended up setting it to 0.25 (the same as a squirrels) but 0.1 worked fine as well.

In the picture of the colonists surrounded, how are they shooting over multiple layers of walls? Is that a special wall for this mod only?

Found some bug related to the bombardier bug. Upon one spawning in it kills the entire UI, and doesn't show up, if you can find where exactly it spawned in at and kill it then the bug gets fixed.
Found it via an event where they drop in from the sky. Tested out spawning them via dev mode, same issue.
Using the resurrect dev tool to revive a dead bombardier bug results in no issues.
