damn fine job on all the corners/ curves. this is exactly the shape and texture of the defiant!

Love this ship. I upgraded mine to full combat steel, upgraded the thrusters to handle the larger load and gave it enough firepower to RIP itself apart. Thanks for making this.

I was gonna build this myself but I always check the workshop first because if someone else did a good job I don't really feel like trying to make a better one. this one is pretty damn accurite looking.

You can also run the command prefabinfo <blueprint name> so, prefabinfo Star Trek Defiant Class and it will tell you which blocks are at fault.

When I'm working on the Defiant, any block I remove shows up in my inventory as an SV/HV block. Simplest thing is, bring the thing into creative and run the console command replaceblocks <entity id> -alpha4 but make sure you're in creative mode. You can find entity ID by running command di and looking at the vehicle, or off the bottom left of the statistics window

just putting it out there since the discussion brought up emp versions. Your excelsior model no longer works. Says its too outdated. it probably has blocks they removed.

+d3usm3us - Yes, I've only recently played some Empyrion in v8, and many changes. Someday I might do some changes to several of my ships to update them. Thanks for the feedback.

I love this model, the proportions are just perfect. I've been messing with it, mostly interiors... it will never really make a working Empyrion CV though, since it would be a shame to put turrets on it. Still, it's a beautiful roleplayers dream, and you did a magnificent job on the textures. Emp 8.-0 has changed a lot of how things work, 9.0 will even more, so have to look at thrusters closely

The Game Sage - Yeah from what I could see, that seems about an accurate interpretation of the shuttle bay on the ship. Sorry that I still haven't gotten around to fixing Defiant (and others?) - I haven't been playing lately and also was away from home for a while.

supposedly the Defiant had no cargo bay, other than the rooms that stored the quantum and photon torpedoes. The Shuttle bay was also quite modest containing only 1 type 10 shuttle craft and even then the shuttle had to dive out of a hole in the floor and to dock had to rise up through it at an angle.

+wise fool - 115m using the one large ship block equals 2 meters? I built my ships to a one block equals 2.5 meters, I feel like it fits the height of the player character better. This scale also allows for building properly scaled capital ships from science fiction franchises up to about 600 meters in length, not that I've done one quite that large just yet. Maybe some day.
Although had I built the Defiant at the scale you're talking about it would've worked much better in terms of having a well proportioned cargo bay, but Star Trek wasn't very consistent with the Defiant's size anyway. Oh well. Thanks for your comment.

Its only about 115m long, whereas the defiant class is around 170m, so its closer to 2/3 scale than 1:1.

The others are all fantastic though, I tried making a 1:1 defiant once and gave up about half way through so, well done for doing so many

yeah, there are a number of things that dont seem to wrok right anymore. Like on Akua I cannot find cobalt anywhere. An essential metal for building anything that moves and is not a motor cycle.

+zaknafein_aurora It should be labeled as 'Star Trek Defiant Class' I'm not sure why it wouldn't show up. I'm not sure where you check the version of a ship, but I'm on Alpha 6.2.0 1110 and it shows up for me fine.
