Alternative mod
And since v1.1 makes descriptions mandatory, the HediffDefs_[Spayed|Neutered].xml just needs to have a
Cannot breed or some text like this.
field added.
If the mod author sees this, do you mind if we edit the mod locally and use it just for ourselves? Apologies if that's a dumb question, this is one of only 2 Rimworld mods I've ever downloaded from Steam (I wrote all of my other mods myself and just use them locally), so I've never actually encountered this situation before.
It's a concern that only applies because it's a game. Though I suppose I could've worded it better if I wasn't half asleep at the time.
Anyway, nice mod! Exactly what i was looking for, i've got too much dogs and horses running around, i've got like 5 dog for every colonist and i'm too weak to just slaughter those little doggies
Are I pregnate?!?
Turn on Dev Mode. Select the animal. Select its Health tab. To the right of the 'Overview' and 'Operations (0)' tabs, there will be two options with red X's beside them. Click the red X next to the 'AllDiffs' options.
A new condition may pop up: Whole body, Pregnant (early-stage).
The game doesn't notify you that an animal is pregnant until it's 33% along. (If you're curious how far along the animal is, keepAllDiffs selected, click the red X next to the DiffsDebugInfo, and then hover over the pregnancy condition. Look at 'Gestation progress'.) Early stage is 'hidden' and doesn't show up except in Dev Mode. If this is the case, the animal was almost certainly impregnated before you spayed them, but it was hidden, and then once it was 33% along you were notified.
I had a porcupine queued for Spaying. She sat in her box forever, with the surgeon assigned to the operation just sitting next to her box and doing absolutely nothing. The pawn seemed to be bugging out because when I deleted the operation from the porcupine's health queue, everything went back to normal.
Also you save the lives of many rim world animals, its either i neuter them or kill them as two areas to manage animals is too costy or difficult alot of the times when keeping them seperate.
Save the animals, even if you have to neuter them!
