Like, make sort of a tick system in the mod manager that changes the setup of how things play out before you enter solitude or something...

So either A: It plays out normally

Or B: the second outcome is more or less the same, up until he assumes position on the choppingblock. Where enough of a pause for the player to intervene begins. Once one of the imperials on stage are aggro'd, he'll be scripted to run away as you clean house. After your attackers are dead, and you escape. Head to windhelm or something, and then he'll be there as a plain follower or whatever...

what about: if the player interrupts and defeats the 3 empire npcs so that Rogvir's head isn't chopped off but still dies
then, it happens Rogvir isn't mortally wounded, so the player could pick Rogvir's body up and take it elsewhere,(1st safe nearby hideout, 2nd find npc friendly to him (winkin skeever has some), heal him up enough to bring him to a Talos temple. Later hed be well and be a companion. The killed captain and "butcher" guy would ideally also be healed by the empire as to not break quests.
In practice, the Rogvir npc dies there, but a new npc for the mod is created from there on

@Vlgmr: the issue is complicated. I've made a number of attemts at solving the issue, but whatever's happened, it's above my skill level. So it's unlikely it'll be fixed.

funny story a dragon attacked at his execution and everyone went nuts to go kill him like there was no dragon almost like helgen (the not get executed at the chopping block)

dont forget the console just click on his lifeless corpse and type resurrect

can't you save him if you wait till entering solitude at the last stormcloak mission?

Hey, I have a bug. Roggvir is always attacked by the town if he lives.

who do i take out first

If you manage to save him, yeah. But if you've read the other comments below, this mod really doesn't work as it was originally intended.

This mod is horribly broken by one of the more recent patches. I've tried to fix it and get things working again, to no avail. Apologies.

disable
enable
resurrect

There's no gurarantee this will work.

I love the idea of this mod. Everytime I enter solitude the execution scene doesnt even take place, everyone just starts attacking roggvir until hes dead. Literally everyone. Could you look more into this bug?

I remember shooting down the Archers (/kill)... I guess a Rock hit him on the head because he just flopped down on the ground into a fetal position out of nowhere...

Well, I (somehow) saved Roggvir, but his dialog wont appear.

I can't save Roggvir. I tried taking out the guard, but then everybody tried to kill me, and the headsman killed Roggvir. I tried the kill command, but then everyone went after Roggvir. I even tried waiting untill Roggvir was dead, then reviving him. But you can probably guess the outcome. Everyone tried to kill him. I even tried a calm spell, but it did not work on the guards or Roggvir. You need to update this mod.

even using the kill console command, a guard come and kill roggvir, maybe one of skyrim update conflit with your mod script, but anyway, its a really good idea

I'm sorry things aren't working for some reason. It's been a while since I've had to deal with his "execution", but I'm doing a new play-through & I'll check things out to see if the patch might have done something.

I should be clear, you can't charge in like a bull in a china shop. You have to be completely undetected, first sniff of trouble and the gig's up.

Of course... I should also point you in the direction of another mod I've got here on the workshop: the Resurrection Stone. It works on Roggvir, and he should still be recruitable.

I try it your way(think I kill the 3 before they even realise they were dead) and all the people run to the inn, then a guard run to roggvir and kill him -.-'', so your mod seam to work only for you, wich is sad, exept that its a good idea, if you fix that, Im gona rate you up, keep the good work

What the amazing armor that you have on?

I try it with console comand ''kill'' on the target you mention, and roggvir die anyway, might be because of skyrim update and the mod not updated to work with those update(sorry for bad english)

I'm unable to save Roggvir as well. Went at it a few different ways... first I just tried bum rushing. That didn't go to well, obviously. Then I tried your method EXACTLY. Nobody saw the kills, I was completely hidden the whole time, but as soon as I killed the Headsman everyone turned hostile towards Roggvir. (Everyone in the crowd, I mean.) He died. I reloaded and let the scene play out normally, then tried resurrecting him in case that would work, but I'm not really surprised it didn't.

Still, my second attempt failed even though at the time I had 9000 sneak, all sneak perks AND killed everyone in one shot.

hmmm... you have the mod enabled? Check the data files from the title screen. Otherwise, I'm not sure what could be happening here. Attacking any of the guards involved in the execution should interrupt the scene. At that point, he's certainly still vulnerable, but he shouldn't just 'die on the chopping block'.
