When I see this in a game though, there are way too many spawning places for it. As an example, I get 5 horses and 8 gold in the same 20 tile area. And that is on Abundant, I haven't tried it with the Mod that adds "Truly Plentiful", it will probably give me 15 gold in that same 20 tiles.
Neither, it's a luxury resource that will be spawned when you start a new game, so long as you have the required mod/dlc and there is a slot/space available for the resource generator to place it on a continent in the new game. Sea luxury resources do not affect this, as they have a different mechanic in play that makes them require something else other than an available slot/space.
By default there is 4 slots/spaces per continent for (only affects land luxury resources, and is never affected by however sea luxury resources you have for the game to choose from) land luxury resources to be randomly placed by the resource generator, and if memory serves me right in the base game you have about 3 or 4 more luxury resources for the game to pick from than you normally have continents to fit them on, at least on anything smaller than a huge map size anyway.
I am not a complete fan of Sukritact's resources, there are some in there I wish that were not. But a lot of players like to use it. I find the cheese and sharks kind of weird. I mean we already have cattle in game and it can be implied we get our dairy needs from that. Sharks, I feel like there could be a better sea resource that can be used, but I can't think of any right now. The Camels I can go either way, some times they are nice and some times I don't want them.
I would honestly like to see Tin added by game or mod, it played a big part in the making of Bronze. We already have Copper in game.
It shouldn't even be something up for consideration by Firaxis, but a default resource in every single Civilisation game. Given gold's importance and significance throughout human history, particularly since Electrum was first discovered and used (naturally occurring alloy of gold and silver) and especially once gold began being used as the basis of currency by the ancient cultures that developed currency, had access to gold and used it (some obviously used other things for currency instead, like cacao seeds) it makes no sense why they left it out of this Civilisation game, and have only implemented it so far in a unique scenario that many people will probably never actually play.
I'd absolutely use Sukritact's mod over not having gold at all, but there's so many extra luxury resources in that mod that having the chance of gold spawn in a game would be greatly diminished, at least in comparison to using this mod for gaining access to it anyway.
I was going to play around with it to get this mod working, assuming it was a few lines of code, but it is not. I am honestly not a modder or coder, so it is beyond me.
I say if you want Gold Resource at this moment for those modes, I would use Sukritact Resource mod. Another option is bug Civ6 Firaxis guys to add gold resource to base game. I think this would be the best bet. I have been messaging them a few times on Twitter about it over the years, but no response.
I would prefer it that way, that Firaxis adds it to base game, I mean it is all there in the files. Gold resources has been on most of the past Civ games.
I think someone here could do a fix for monopoly and do test. And maybe provide it to mod author here. I think when I get the Monopoly FP, I might look into fixing this mod for it. But I dont have it and have no way of looking at code.
As far as I know and can remember this mod does NOT touch the UI, so any issues like that are extremely unlikely to be as a result of using this mod.
I have seen many people complaining on other mod pages, that also don't touch the UI (to the best of my knowledge anyway), of UI issues post Vietnam/Mongolia DLC launch, so I would say confidently that the new DLC and update are the real culprits for causing these problems.
Phenomenal job!

I never had issues with this Gold Resource mod, has been very simple and best one. It does the job period.

I have all the current Expansion and DLCs as of this comment.
You are not going to see gold in every game you play. This is the 3rd play-through since I re-added the mod back in and I got gold.
