Output box sounds interesting, a power converter. Means I wouldn't have to create any significant new models. Power/Food source could change if a Tek dino was attached...

I don't have an SDK installed at the moment but I may take a look at some point, thanks for the idea!

I had not really thought about it; I guess I was trying to think of a way to convert my anticipated surplus raw meat and crude oil into a way to power my TEK structures.

Wait, what about an electrical outlet that also powers TEK stuff? Nothing visually fancy, just the outlet box that can snap to the treadmill wires with increased functionality!

I am more of a coder than an artist what would it look like? would it require a tek dino to drive it? what would power it?

Have to admit the Tek stuff is not really my thing, tend to play original, with Tek disabled, when I do.

I love this mod. It has been my sole power source for close to 6 months now.

@gus, just follow the basic guides for making a generator, shouldn't take too long to knock up whatever it is you want.

just wanted to see how it all worked. im really new at modding. so it would be interesting to see how things "tick" so to speak. and potentially make it look a little more primitive. but yeah! :D

@gus any particular reason, it's just a basic power generator. And I am just playing the walk and eat animations while they are active, nothing particularly special

yes, you were right. It worked perfectly. The problem must be one of the mods of that server. Could probably kraken's better dinos that gives an upgrade of most of the dinos as a TLC

Do you have another mod which may have replaced the trike with an alternative?

Worth trying it with a local game and only this mod installed. you can admin spawn the treadmill and a trike and try it quite quickly!

Haven't had any other reports of issues

the other two trealmills works great, I literraly put the trike on the mill and it did not get it. I will try reinstalling the mod, however im playing on a server and my tribemate has the same problem. Let you know when I reinstall the mod

Not close enough? What does the menu offer? If problem continues, you may want to delete the mod and re-download sometimes Steam gets the install wrong

what could I doing wrong if the treadmill does not detect the dino (trike)?

Just wanted to say, thank you for your mods. They help make Ark a more fun and immersive place to be.

I could maybe see a pump producing water from a deep well, placed away from water. That could work...

Water wheel acts as a ground tap pushing water to pipes (has to be places at waters edge, has to have pipes connected.. Mammoth sprinkler could water the crops for you..maybe in a larger radius ..idk.. Sorry, Im just a big fan of this mod and the flintstones.

Make em practical and I can think about building them . What does the water wheel do? How would the sprinkler make Ark life easier? Give em a purpose... Always looking for good ideas.

Would love to see more dino powered creations...like...um...dino powered water wheel....or ...mammoth powered...garden sprinkler.....the possibilities are limitless !

@Typhon, It produces electricity only. If the item can run on a normal electrical generator it will work with this. If it needs a tek generator then no.

Yeah the dino you remove is really only intended to put back on! Don't expect the dino to still be usefull after you have abused him on the treadmill :-)

This is my new generator...however dont take the dino off once used set it and forget it the dino is a has been if you take it off...all kinds of problems with a poor dino coming off the thing; otherwise a good mod and will be my primary means of electricity ! 4 Starz !!!

Indeed... That might be a cool addition to a power generating mod.

I can't see why that wouldn't work. It could be made to charge up while power was available, then produce power until it timed out if there was no other source on the circuit.

Thanks for clearing tha tup Wuzzy, I was actually wondering about that. Seemed the power had a lot in common with the water system, but to know it's actually modeled off the water system makes a lot of sense. I wonder if a "capacitor" could be engineered to function in a similar way to a water tank? If the power source runs out you still have "water" in the capacitor until it runs out.

Unfortunately there was no concept of power in Ark, electricity is actually modelled as special water, as long as the pipe is connected it will power as many things as you like. Would be nice to have a 10watt per thing requirements and generators with 100watt capacity type network. But the current model does not support it.

i know, but was curious if quality of the dino, movement speed, would affect more power so you'd train a dino to use it

I kinda like the way it's setup. Rarely do I ever take the dino back off the treadmill, except to move the treadmill. Usually I just run out and find a low-level trike to run it. Easy to tranq, don't worry about it being "reset", easy to find. I don't really think you need to go to the effort of giving a player back the same dino they put on it.

I wrote this before the dino serialization was available and haven't had time to go back to it!

Have thought of looking into the pokeball or dino station for the "capture mechanic?" just a suggestion otherwise like the mod

Works wuzzy... I think he was meaning that he hopes you always keep it updated (unlike other mods which are abandoned).
