Hope you love "picking" your base at airfield its only spot flat enough with no terrain objects. Might as well be default location 90% the map is unbaseable enjoy the run to obj

Whatever was done to these friendly NPC's is amazing and should be done to all of Arma 3.

I wish this had an infantry-only mode or something though, it's quite annoying trying to fight tanks when you're not AT yourself and you're not playing as a commander...

another question as well: How can I change vehicle loadouts in this? I want to fly the SU25T with ATGMs however it only lets my fly it with AA missiles and unguided ordinance.

How do I get the AI to do stuff in this? I've tried commanding the platoons and they won't do anything. Cog in the machine also seems to not work because whenever I try to use it the other platoons just sit on the airfield.

I like your Dynamic Recon/Combat Ops a lot. With the revive functions and reset it works sweet. I usually mission complete the dynamic recon ops missions, but I can not complete the combat ops for some reason.

Hiyah! I was hoping someone could explain to me how to use planes in DCO. How does one utilise airbases? Whenever I select a plane as my squad's vehicle, it doesn't seem to spawn.

I'm having an issue in the character loadout builder. Whenever I select primary weapons and sidearms, the character's vest/bag gets LOADED down with the maximum number of spare magazines for the primary and sidearm the soldier can carry. When I try to click the minus button to unload them, it will only remove one magazine. I have to go back and remove the weapons to get the vest/bag to empty. The only workaround I can think of right now (just discovered the issue) is to load out everything but weapons first. Is this due to a conflict with ACE?

I will update, the AI does seem to come to life so to speak, once the player has advanced a certain distance to the enemy, or made contact. Unclear what triggers it, but the player assaulting the objectives seems to reliably spur the AI into action.

Can also confirm that AI will claim "we're going to attack X" and then does nothing in Cog In Battle mode.

"Cog in battle" isn't really a valid option since whenever I have it set as such the AI claims it's going to attack point A etc, but it just stands in place.

Hexapuma - Thanks for the report, this should broadly be fixed now though I'm going to push another patch soon to address the underlying issue more comprehensively.

hallat530 - Thank you, glad you're enjoying it!

Patchyman - You'll probably want to select some sort of transport support in the supports menu - failing that you can choose the other platoon command option and an empty vehicle. I've made a note to revisit these options with the cog in battle function in mind as a dedicated transport vehicle selection might help reduce confusion.

This may be a dumb question, but is there a tutorial or something to help me figure out how to use this? I can spawn in fine and get my squad selected, but how do you get from spawn to the objective? I selected the "cog" option (only commanding a squad I'm assuming?) but I couldn't figure out how to get to the objective without just walking there, which would be a bitch obviously.

Ran into an issue while running a solo mission, NATO against CSAT with AAF as an additional enemy faction. They all spawned fine, but the AAF infantry were just sort of there. They didn't react when fired upon, didn't fire on us, and didn't seem to count against sector control (there was nearly a full squad left at the last point).

AAF vehicles had no problems, got mauled by two of their MRAPs at the start and they brought in both a helicopter and a jet for counterattack waves, but their infantry were just taking up space. CSAT was fine and contributing the entire time, but they had less than half the total units.

This was probably just a glitch on my end, especially since mixed enemies have worked just fine in past runs. Just wanted to bring it up in case it's happened to anyone else.

Other than that I've really been enjoying both mods so far! Hoping to lure in a friend soon, do something other than vanilla Combat Patrol for a change.

I'm working on having planes spawn correctly with AI but currently the AI freaks out if crewing planes on the ground. Theres some info in the helper text on the platoon menu but hopefully I'll be able to bring full plane support in the next update.

So I now have air support however when selecting platoon comander as the option and setting the aircraft to crewed i do not have the option to select their targets or control them.

Yep we just found that out. We're all good now. Everything is working now and thanks for your responses until we got this resolved. We did have to do it manually but no worries! Just happy to respawn! :)

Aha, yeah ACE will not be compatible with the built in revive system which should be disabled automatically if ACE is detected but if that isn't the case you can disable it manually under the Scenario tab on the first menu.

It's the ACE mod. I disabled it and went into a combat ops. I killed myself and the suicide option came up along with the respawn options. ACE use to work fine as we've used it for at least a year now. The recent update on your mod with the ACE Options and medical access seems to have changed how ACE behaves in game. Or ACE had an update that that counters your mod somehow. All I know is with ACE off it works.

We had respawns enabled and I remember before especially if you crashed in a chopper it was instant death. Then you select base or team and respawn. I'll look into the mods and let you know

Peleliusion - That sounds like the normal way both DRO and DCO work - once you're downed you go into an unconscious state from which you can be revived or commit suicide to force a respawn (if respawns are enabled). If you're not getting the suicide option as an action menu item there could be a mod conflicting with the revive system.

If you go down you don't die. I've been shot out of the sky hurling to the earth in a fireball but it does not kill me. I lay there unconcious but have no respawn option. We have shot eachother in the head and still it does nothing. We're forced to abort and rejoin which spawns us in the middle of the battle without any choice to go to base or spawn on team. Could this be an issue with a mod? We have not changed the mods we use since you released the recon and combat ops. Recon is fine just the combat ops.

Peleliusion - Can you tell me what those issues are?

FoxThree - If there are no planes available in your platoon menu then the faction you're using doesn't have any, the placement of the base won't affect whether planes are available or not, just that if you place within the blue circles any planes you do choose will spawn at the runway.

Well i placed our hq at the airport and all that was available were squads, vehicles and a few choppers, no fixed wing. Does the hq placement have to be specific palce on the airport?

Having respawn issues in all combat ops maps. Also having issues selecting FOB when starting
