Heyyyy, are you planing on updating this? The fact that the base game doesn't have iframes and that you can't cancel animations pisses me off incredibly, if you need help coding i can land you a hand :D

If you can just add forward rolling you'll be my hero. Being able to roll every way but forward is fuckin killing the game for me.

from what we have seen from the trailer the new combat look like the mod when it was a bit playable, even better to be honest, i think this update will bring conan exiles back from the dead.

Will probably revive this mod after the big update. Will have to see how the new combat and stuff works though, lots of new systems to deal with.

if you made timed blocking and better weapon holding just to make the weapon system more solid like skyrim or oblivion just as a basic. skyrims was nothing fancy but it worked. this game simple pvp is just terrible

For the moment I've lost interest in Conan Exile's modding since the devs are taking the game in, what I believe to be, the wrong direction. Too much PvP and not enough on what actually makes the game fun to play.

Nice, so there are mods to improve the combat system, keep it up, even if Dark Soul fighting system isn't my favorite, at least it's better than the Conan Exile vanilla.

I'm not removing this mod just because it's broken at the moment, especially since I'm working to fix it. Additionally, this mod has more plans than just making weapons cost more stamina. It's a complete rebalancing of the mechanics of combat, including damage values and animation tweaks. It's more than just a settings modification and can do more than a settings modification alone can. So please, don't think you can come on someone else's mod and demand them to delete it just because you don't understand the end goals of the creator. Good day.

Poor Mod not compatible with other mods make this worthless :steambored: and hey you can change in settings.ini diffrent stats of stamina, with changes on the right stats i fight like in your video without installing a mod :steammocking: so plz erase that mod here makes more probs than FUN

That tutorial is old. I never had these problems before. The devkit took 2 hours to load up finally after letting it sit but then I had to go somewhere. Came back 3 hours later to find it crashed even though it wasn't doing anything. Not only that but it crashed every other application on my computer except for windows. So unfortunately, this bug is new.

Update for future commenters: I cannot currently fix the mod not working at all due to the fact that the devkit will not load and there are reports of "out of memory" errors when trying to actually compile the mod. Unfortuneately this blocks me out completely of fixing it for the time being. I'll have the mod back up and running as soon as the next patch for the devkit is released.

@Naito Ookami: Thanks for answering. I wasn't sure their current tech would allow to have animations block the movement state (software engineer :) just use laymens terms in internet discussions to avoid too much confusion). Too bad it crashes the game, but considering they only had one year to hack, slam and mold Unreal into a state where it could reasonably support a multiplayer environment... - from what I've read on the web by other devs Unreal netcode seems to be pretty fragile and problematic.

I am looking forward to mods like yours trying out the possibilites and maybe inspiring the devs to go above and beyond to sqeeze more out of the core tech. So please don't take what I said as a criticsm for your effort. It is very appreciated, because just like in ARK I am sure the Funcom devs too will take inspiration from mod developers, who have more time to "fool around" than the guys that work on the clock.:steamhappy:

@Waldgeist, I just used what resources I had to make the combat something better than what it was previously. The fact that you can sprint and attack at the same time in this game is odd. But, I do actually know code good enough to make this so called "move after him" thing impossible, forcing people to endure their attack animation. The problem is it requires editing this BaseBPCombat file, which right now crashes the game.

One of the major components of Dark Souls combat is that it is animation locked. You can't "move" while you execute a hit. You have to endure the animation. That makes the combat more tactical, because if you release a heavy weapon it gives the opponent a chance to dodge much easier without you being able to "move after him".

That to me is the main gripe with the combat system. It's too twitch based, so it will never have a lot of depth. Even with good adjustments to weapon damage and the like, it will remain a hectic, frantic click-fest instead of the deliberate, tactical, learnable and fair but difficult system Dark Soul came up with.

Don't get me wrong, you definitely had a good idea, but I fear the tech as it stand will not be able to deliver, no matter how hard you tweak the values.

We'll I do hope by some miricle this starts working normally after the next patch they do, It is one of the few mods I'd really consider putting on my server due to fact it add's alot more flare to combat then just button mashing, I'm sure Funcom will do an overhaul on how combat works eventualy and mods like this will probly inspire them. Till then this will serve's as a fantastic substitute.

Hey dude, I was wondering if you'd mind making a mod that decreases fist damage, but increases fist concussion dmg. As well as scaling up truncheon KO dmg. My dev kit won't ever cook so i'm pretty sad about that :( just an idea anyways

I've come up blank on any further bugfixing for the crashes. I did a bunch of testing and came to the amazing conclusion that even the smallest change to the BaseBPCombat file will cause arrows to immediately crash the game as soon as they're rendered. To everyone who wants to use this mod, use it as far away as possible from any sort of arrows, even NPC ones at your base. Use this mod for high level PvP fights, it's really fun for that sort of use.

Update: The bug is caused by the invulnerability added in dodging, for some reason it interferes with the projectile code. It honestly doesn't make sense to me but I'm trying my best.

Yeah there's some kind of bug that has been introduced from being able to cancel your attacks now. I'll revert the change when I get some time. For now, don't press right and left mouse buttons together.

alright, so I did more testing.. it might only be me suffering from this but when I have Beyondlimits and this mod active when I right click mouse button attack on a bow it seems to crash to desktop. could be the latiest patch that could be doing this as they've modifyied how bows work. who knows.

@Naito, that's the thing, I disabled all other mods and reset the client to try it out. Perhaps it is relative to something else? but it is truly random, I crashed then I tried again had a fight with 3 - 4 groups of people then it'd crashed again. I'll try disabling all mods then fighting to see if it isient the new patch, either way I appreciate you taking the time to get back to me.

I like this mod alot, makes me put alot more thourght into combat. this mod would make the game soo much enjoyable only issue I have is it randomly crashes to the desktop when I'm in combat and I havient noticed any pattern into what actuelly causes it do so. anyone else having this problem?

cool mod the combat feel less like a spam clic but need some tweak, the way the weapon stamina cost is actualy good but the time it take for the stamina to come back is to long for now.

Well done about time someone did this kinda thing and razing the bar for the Devs to think long and hard about the current combat system, as many ppl are saying " Reign Of Kings " on day of release had a better combat system . Keep up the good work iam sure youal be able to iron out the bugs that come with making something like this.

does this change base attack damage? Like if I were unarmed, would my damage still be increased?
I'm curious because I would love for AoC:E to be challenging, but realistic. Hitting a guy in the face 15 times with a stone doesn't make much sense to me :D gonna try this out thx
