whelp, long war classes and perks are now in WotC, but unfortunately the only alien hunter version still replaces the psiop for WotC...making both sides of the class less usefull, sad, i enjoyed this class

Don't know if this will help but LWOTC is now a thing (not on workshop yet), this mod unfortunately is incompatible at present

@derpmaster.usa Hell, with the 'new promotion screen as default' you don't even need the LW stuff, that new screen can do a ton of rows for perks, it should be fairly easy to switch it over, aside from the whole updating for use with the xpack anyway, since i hear they use quite a few things different

I also would like to see someone port this for WotC...I miss this class a lot, I find myself not using the alien hunter weapons as much anymore...save perhaps the pistol and axe

Like i said. It's too far down my list at the moment for me to spend time on it. I will revisit the class eventually, but i can not say anything yet about how. Or when. Sorry, may be a while. ABA will always have priority for me over anything else i have cooking.

Yeah, I miss this too, good news is that with the hero skilltree they added, it shouldn't be too hard to change this for a WotC version...just have promote screen go to that, and promote along the lines of one of the faction units...

Yeah, class mods are all in need of a WotC version if the author wants to support it.

I might do that for the Alien Hunter as well, but a) it's below ABA on the list of priorities, so it may take a while and b) it would be as a new mod. This one works perfectly fine for vanilla and i want it to stay that way.

Yeah, i thought about it. I ultimately discarded it, not enough interesting perks unless you start mashing everything together. Not an approach i am particularly interested in, and some of the skills (like the Shieldbearer shield) i don't really want to see in player hands.

I was trying to make a similar mod myself a while ago. My idea was to make it more of a risk/reward class that would be able to do high single target damage but would have to be exposed.

Anyway, a suggestion for you because perhaps you are better at code than I am, I was trying to intregrate the mod that was create that lets the hunter pick up their axe after being thrown into a perk, but I could not figure out how to make that work. If you could, I think it would make the hunter more unique and allow differnet playstyles.

I don't really know how the Use My Class mod works. To remove the Alien Hunter from the random spawn tables, you can set NumInForcedDeck and NumInDeck to zero in the XComClassData.ini.

I don't know if that will still display it in the character pool creator, though. Maybe try tricksing around a bit, creating your guy in the character pool and afterwards setting those values to zero would do the trick?

A question.
If i want to make this class exclusive to one of my soldiers... In resume, take it away from the Guerrila Training Options. But still usable in the character pool creation. With synergy with the Mod [USE MY CLASS]
Where do i go and what do i do?
I mean, since there's only one of those sets... i think i will only use in one of my soldiers. ^^

Sure, i can clarify... when i released the Alien Hunter, there wasn't even another perk pack :D Glad to see that at least one other exists, i have a very high opinion of those packs and how they enable everyone to make their own classes with minimal modding knowledge.

Yeah I fixed it, it turns out that, The Perk Pack is refering to the LW Perk Pack, thanks for the feedback mates, might want to change it to say LW perk pack. Other than that 10/10 mod mate, the Alien Hunter is a very interesting character and very usefull. :steamhappy:

The mod hasn't been touched in a while and i can safely assume that it works. Must be some other issue, probably a mod conflict of some sort on your end?
Maybe try unsubbing and resubbing to push the Alien Hunter to the back of your load order.

The mod is currently not working, once my Alien Hunter gets to Sqaudie Rank the perks only show as low profile and Silent axe throw both descriptions are also not working

Thanks for the feedback. I currently like how the Alien Hunter is set up, but if i should feel the need to update it in the future, your suggestion of doing something with the Boltcaster stun instead of Center Mass is a very good one that i hope to remember. I like that a lot.

I made the AH a scout class as a nod towards the Shadowkeeper. In LW2, an AH could go in the field wielding a Boltcaster, an Axe and a Shadowkeeper. Pistol skills + Stealth was a bit of a thing when i made the class and building that around the Shadowkeeper was on my mind when i made the skills. Stealth is also one of the things that are particularly useful against the rulers, which makes all kinds of thematic sense for the AH.

Fun mod, thanks a lot for making it. I have some feedback.

I think Center Mass should be swapped for something else that improves crit / aim. The Boltcaster already does enough base damage, the problem is crit chance, so if this will compete with the Sharpshooter it needs a bit more crit chance.

You could also forget that idea and maybe instead improve the chance to stun a bit, + 15% or so would be nice and offer more utility. You could offer a hatchet increased chance to stun as well as boltcaster, mutually exclusive.

Also, I really didn't understand the attempt to make this a scout / concealment class. I just don't think it fits well. It would be nice to have more perks that can improve the hatchet / boltcaster paths and just throw some tanking / utility perks in the middle.

Not possible, i use many of the perks from the LWPP and also the interface for three skill columns and the extra rank. Without those, this mod can't exist.
