Anyway to make the scars appear on only critically wounded? Also, cant a soldier become shaken from another soldiers death? or how does shaken work I forget. Thanks for the awesome mod btw
BigRowdy 19. dec. 2017 kl. 22:20
HMMM my original version if this mod works just fine, I have all DLC's cept Wotc.
Mr. Nice  [ophavsmand] 31. aug. 2017 kl. 3:40
As promised, a WotC compatible version is now available

FIrst mod I ported because it was the easiest.

@Gulthalot: That makes sense, the function which is overriden by this mod essentially deals with all the changes to soldiers on return from a mission. As I said in the discussion thread on one of my other mods, it will almost certainly require a project fork between vanilla and WotC compatible versions. So that leaves the conundrum whether this forked project is the vanilla or WotC version, I've noted other modders go both ways on that one already.

I've done a bit of testing and it seems that (at least for me) this mod causes the bonding and fatigue system to not work. My soldiers only gained cohesion from covert ops and would lose will but never go into the "tired" state or regain will.

Not sure if its something the mod does to the shaken state or anything and I'm not entirely sure if it is this mod. But I ran some new games, and only on the ones where this mod was disabled, did cohesion work. I doubt anymods I have would conflict with this mod as they are all cosmetic apart from some namepool additions and free camera movement.

If you could look into this if you update, it would be very much appreciated.
Nasarog 29. aug. 2017 kl. 11:55
Awesome, thank you. I love this mod! Great job!!!
Mr. Nice  [ophavsmand] 29. aug. 2017 kl. 11:53
It will be, just playing WotC a bit before checking whats changed under the hood for mod compatability.
Nasarog 29. aug. 2017 kl. 11:37
Willl this be updated for War of the Chosen?
LoneDigger 3. aug. 2017 kl. 20:36
I also crash on load with an earlier save of my playthrough, but on a test new save file, it can be removed freely (presumably because I haven't had any shaken soldiers yet). This might have killed my current playthrough, but such is the price to pay for modding...
LoneDigger 3. aug. 2017 kl. 20:33
I found the same issue as @Soundaholic. I added a stack of new mods today, and when in the Geoscape view as well as squad select menus, my framerate goes insane and looks like a slideshow. I removed all of my mods and individually added every one, and singled out this mod (all 120ish work without frame lag, but with this one added, the lag happens). What could be causing this? A conflict with a recent update? A conflict with another mod (that happens to work fine on it's own)?

Until it doesn't murder my framerate, I guess I'll have to give scars automatically :(
Star¤Dagger 18. juli 2017 kl. 18:50
I make sure to give all my troopers cosmetic surgery when they reach join up, also give them cloned eyes to avoid the piratey looking eye patch people.
So no scars!

I do wish someone would make more heads, we need more!
iSynden 7. juli 2017 kl. 22:19
The scars were removed? The soldiers I had pre-patch still rock the scars given to them but I have wondered why no one else has gotten scars recently.. Thanks you for this fix!
Arkan 2. juli 2017 kl. 11:17
omg! :Kenny:
miguelmonte2005 19. maj 2017 kl. 1:30
and i have the alien hunters dlc, lair mission activated and all... what am i missing?...
Mr. Nice  [ophavsmand] 17. maj 2017 kl. 13:30
The particularly nasty scars were included in the Alien Hunters DLC (IIRC).
miguelmonte2005 17. maj 2017 kl. 12:54
sorry but after a while playing with this mod activated, i've never got the badass scars, bandaids and the whole shabang, just the simple scars, already selectable... what am i doing wrong?... thkz in advance!
Glacialis 15. maj 2017 kl. 10:34
+1 vote for Mod Config Menu! Fantastic mod, btw. :D
Dragon32 25. apr. 2017 kl. 11:36
It's *so* good to have this functionality back, thanks Mr. Nice.
Bullyhunter77 4. apr. 2017 kl. 14:56
Does the scars disappear after the soldier recovers from shaken? Cuz if it doesn't I'd like to see something like that. I wouldn't like the aesthetic appeal of certain characters to be permanently ruined by a bad day.
Slivicon 25. mar. 2017 kl. 8:17
I really love this mod for immersion. For whatever reason in my current LW2 campaign, nobody ever gets shaken, though, not sure why - last one it happened all the time. Anyway, I have no idea how it works but it would be even more amazing if the scars selected were based on the bulk of the damage received (but I'd be surprised that would actually be possible). For example, if the soldier is shot a lot with energy weapons, they get a burn rather than a slice.
Brakkey Gurdy I 12. mar. 2017 kl. 15:08
There's a good chance this will be fixed with the patch before XPACK/Milestone comes out, but this is nice in the mean time.
Mr. Nice  [ophavsmand] 4. mar. 2017 kl. 3:11
@calypsojimbo: I'm more inclined to add Mod Config Menu support, so that settings can be changed in game. In the mean time, .ini files are just text files, XComShakenScars.ini will be in the "steamapps\workshop\content\268500\859601422\Config" sub-directory of your steam directory, which itself is "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam" by default for 64 bit windows at least.
The Kraken 1. mar. 2017 kl. 9:17

Good to see it again, thank you!

Forgotten how good this feature was. THANK YOU!

Started using on a new campaign with instant bad-ass results: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=870746454
Mr. Nice  [ophavsmand] 22. feb. 2017 kl. 15:34
Interesting, I might have a look at "Just a scratch" and see if I spot what's going on...
Dragon32 22. feb. 2017 kl. 14:40
@Soundaholic:
Really? Wow. I've only ever encountered that with It's Just a Scratch (and It's Just A Spark v1).

Are you loading a tactical save or an Avenger one? In my experience the latter are a little more forgiving.
Soundaholic 22. feb. 2017 kl. 6:57
Anyone has any idea how to remove this mod? I'm trying to figure out which of my mods are causing performance issues but I can't remove this from the mod list without crashing upon load
Kaz Ghost 14. feb. 2017 kl. 16:45
Thanks so much for this! I got the game a few weeks ago and had no idea this was even previously a feature.
Mr. Nice  [ophavsmand] 14. feb. 2017 kl. 14:23
@Manda_of_the_6: Well very little is "impossible", but it wouldn't be trivial. For a start, there is no categorization system with the scars, like all customization options, they just have a "name" and that's it. It's a similar issue with "longer hair after being captured", an idea a few people tossed around in the comments here, but I didn't respond to because it would be pretty much the same answer I just gave you.
Mr. Nice  [ophavsmand] 14. feb. 2017 kl. 14:16
Yes it does, I mentioned it earlier, but it's buried a bit under all the comments! I'll add it to the description. I wasn't 100% sure at first mod launch, so didn't comment either way in the original description.
Dave Johnson 14. feb. 2017 kl. 13:32
Is it Long War 2 compatible?
Manda_of_the_6 13. feb. 2017 kl. 18:50
It ther a posibility of setting what type of scar the soldier gets based off of the type of wound?
Budoshi 12. feb. 2017 kl. 13:19
OMG thx. i reposrted this bug many time over but the mods always said they tested it and nothing is wrong...i thought it was my mods. and nice on the side fixes as well.
Peanut Hadhod 12. feb. 2017 kl. 4:51
I think that it would be pretty annoying and wierd to have to cut my soldiers hair. I mean I know that they blindly follow what I tell them to do, but they can at least have some control.
3dahs 10. feb. 2017 kl. 19:46
Wait no not just wounded or more importantly captured soldiers :P
3dahs 10. feb. 2017 kl. 19:46
I upvote talemore's request. That would be amazing.
talemore 10. feb. 2017 kl. 5:19
Mod request: wounded soldiers gains beard and longer hair
Christian 9. feb. 2017 kl. 18:12
Looks cool. Thanks dude
3dahs 9. feb. 2017 kl. 12:36
@Oddball_E8 haha thanks I knew I must have read that wrong. Would be cool to see a mod do that.
Oddball_E8 9. feb. 2017 kl. 7:39
@3dahs: no, he said HE does that sometimes.
3dahs 9. feb. 2017 kl. 3:37
stfu... lol does it really give them beards and longer hair? That's pretty awesome but I dont know if I should believe it.
ctrl-z 9. feb. 2017 kl. 1:47
I really like this! I sometimes give soldiers longer hair or a beard if they were captured or in the infirmary.
Mr. Nice  [ophavsmand] 9. feb. 2017 kl. 0:39
Yes it works with LW2
GassyTaco 8. feb. 2017 kl. 20:09
Thank you so much!
3dahs 8. feb. 2017 kl. 18:22
work ok with Longwar?
Dick Justice 8. feb. 2017 kl. 17:51
Knew I wasn't going crazy about scars not showing up on shaken soldiers. Thanks for this mod.
Swords 8. feb. 2017 kl. 15:57
Was wondering what happened to these, thanks for this!
Arkhangel 8. feb. 2017 kl. 13:59
SPARKs are totally worth it though, and there is some nice customization mods for them.. like.. say.. turning them into Titanfall Titans, or using the old MEC bodies from EW.
