Im about to build my first CV. Think Ill build a few of these.

I hadn't planned on flying too far with it, so never even noticed the compass. It was more of a forklift in design terms: transport material between vehicles more than be its own.
And regarding the parking and the 1x1x1 cube, it comes down to a lot of factors. But yeah, this is perfectly capable of fitting into one. Desipte the slight delay in docking in the video, I was able to dock it day in and day out much easier after my first attempts. Just takes a try or two to get it down. And I hate to say it, but if a player lacks the spatial awareness to park or level it, I can't help them with that.
Two issues:
The cockpit is rotated 180 degrees from the orientation of the vessel. Not a big deal, but it will mean that your radar/minimap will show you travelling in the incorrect direction when planetside. Vessel orientation is set when the starter block is placed, and doesn't change with cockpit orientation. Easy fix.
There isn't enough vertical thrust to operate on either Aitis or Aestus. One more downward thruster is needed, also an easy fix.
For those having trouble fitting into a 1x1x1 cube, or through a 1-wide opening or shutter door, keep in mind that the thin blocks, shutter doors, and even LCD screens have full-block hitboxes. Removing those from the side of the ship will make things much more manageable.
I'm on a server where stuff despawns after 7 days, and i think using the cargo boxes and mobile constructors is not enough.
The only reason I went and tried on the back was to prevent the early docking you get when trying to maneuver the pack mule into place as it slides across the floor. Would have been a good solution if it worked, alas it does not so back to the bottom goes the pad.
On a base this is not the case, I tried wiggling it every which way, just would not fit into a 1x1x1 block opening, its literally catching just on the side, a hairs width is keeping it from sliding into place.
As far as docking is concerned, the pad on the back really will not let me undock, on the bottom it did, this is all on creative, all items on private, no matter, I just left it on the back.
All is well, if only the SV could draw power from the CV to keep all those LCD panels lit constantly :)
Thanks.
Also, though I have not put a rear docking pad on this myself, rear docking pads do work universally. You can put them on any side and latch to anything, even a large air gap diagonally between a gun's barrel and a ship's hull.
Check your docking permissions (Private/Faction/Public) to ensure it isn't locking itself in place to make this harder than it needs to be, and try again.
On a CV you can squeeze them in place, on a base you can't.
By the way, if/when it does fit would be an idea to move the docking pad to the back instead of the bottom, would prevent premature docking to the ground when maneuvering into place. Could dock it to a back wall that way.
Very Clever indeed!
While I've not completed a compact storage unit like this, (to this capacity) the smallest moble pod I've made was a simple dirt cheap HV for long distances across uneven terrains.
I always have a few in spawn standby, just in case!
but you are hereby subscribed!
Anyways the Zamboni is kinda crap, really could use a better version of it out there because I didn't exactly give it much attention to detail.
Unfortunately you will not be able to use this as storage on most Public servers as they need to restrict the ammount of vessels / player :D

Edit: Also don't remove docking pad.
Once one of these units is docked you can remove everything except fuel tank and gen. Just have a curved counter like block in front. Then if you need access to it's control panel. Just jump onto counter block. Don't need cockpit to access Control panel.
Mobile Modular Cargo Hold
Appreciate the positive feedback, but had to share my input back :P
Any chance I can get permissions to upload the slim version for those on PVP servers? I intend to move these around a lot between my various bases and ships within my fleet instead of moving cargo by hand. :) Makes it much safer and faster. Bonus is also that if it is off, turrets are less likely to hit it directly.
@[P.B.B.] dulux: More than likely they will nerf both cargo sizes for SVs. A single large container holds less than 2x normal containers. The problem is that they hold just as much for an SV as they do a CV. I would still take this mule purely for mobility however. :)
