My son was a HUGE "Avatar The Last Airbender" fan. It's good to see it come to life in this game. Brought back some great memories. Thanks for that!
The main changes I would focus on would be to rewrite the code that manages battlefield maps. Adding a new map requires rebuilding the entire mod. There are better ways of doing this, by passing data in from the map file itself. This way I could expand available content (new battles), without republishing the main mod.
But that means other things would slip. Man, there just aren't enough hours in the day... 😪
All hail! 🤗
Obviously there is a bug somewhere in the code, but I wasn't able to figure out exactly where.
NAW was my 3rd mod and I didn't really didn't think about making it playable on any map when I finished it.
But, I learned a lot from this - and that's why the "sequel" to this mod - 'SMAN's World at War' - is designed differently than this one. That mod can be player on any map, not just the scenario maps (which haven't published yet).
This mod uses the artwork from many other mods (JFD, etc.), but the actual civs are unique to this mod. But none of them are published separately. No one has asked for this, so I figured there was no demand.
For some reason it works when i click the minimap and when I scroll around the map using the keyboard but not when using the mouse.
The camera angle problem isn't something I've seen before. Can you move around by clicking on the mini-map? Also, have you tried navigating the map in the Strategic View?
Additionally, I can move the camera in any direction except upwards (as in from south of the map to north) in any of the maps. I have tried clearing the cache as suggested somewhere else in the forum but nothing changed, does anyone have any recommendations to solve this?
Thanks in advance.
Clearing the game cache will at least let you start with a clean database and help ensure that at least the problem is isolated to the current mod list. What other mods are you loading?
The Ottomans re-use some of the earlier cavalry unit models, so they might look a bit "antiquated" which is intentional. If the other playable civs have ancient spearman unit models appearing, it is probably due to a lack of BNW/DLC.
One thing to try is to clear the game cache, then reload just this mod and see if you see the same behavior.
Often, when you de-select a list of mods, then load in a new mod - there are various settings in the various databases that are set at values used in the previous mod list. Clearing the cache will force the values at the default values that this (and most other) mod expects, and help it perform more as intended. Let me know if it doesn't work.
One thing I noticed is that I no longer can scroll up in this MOD. Scrolling left/right/down works fine, but up doesn't. I use this MOD only, with all DLCs. No game breaking, but still annoyed.
Note: I have all DLC installed, no mods activated except this one, and have never had a history of this before. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks! And keep up the good work!
The rest of the units are named using the UnitNamer function. It is contained in the LUA folder. It is based on this mod:

If that doesn't fix the problem, about all I can suggest is to clear the game's cache (outside of Civ V), delete the entire Napoleon at War folder, the restart Civ V. This should force a clean download of the mod with a purged database, so any previous conflicts should no longer exist.
Between those two steps, it should solve the problem.

This mod also reuses some artwork from several of the DLC from this link:
http://store.steampowered.com/bundle/575/Sid_Meiers_Civilization_V_Complete/
All of these are required for this mod to work correctly.
If you do, then I'd recommend clearing the game cache, then restart the game and see if you get the same behavior.
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Sid Meier's Civilization V\Resource\DX9
The game uses the vanilla game's Spearman model any time there is a definition issue with any model - as a default to keep the game from crashing if it encounters something it doesn't like.
I suppose, in the future, it would improve compatibility if I just included the non-vanilla artwork in my own art files, so errors like these wouldn't pop up.
Can you start a game as the Austrians and see if you can eventually build the Hussar? IGE would speed things along if you don't have it installed.
