Anyone knows if this mod is compatible to the Enlightment Era mod?

@Jarman - gz on publishing the mod. It's beautiful!

My son was a HUGE "Avatar The Last Airbender" fan. It's good to see it come to life in this game. Brought back some great memories. Thanks for that!
S-Man  [author] Oct 22, 2020 @ 1:50pm
Sure, send me the link when it's published!
Jar Oct 22, 2020 @ 8:21am
Thank you. If you want you can check on my mod but if not thanks for the excellent Napoleon mod.

@Jarman - feel free to reuse anything that helps. Good luck!

May I use your instructions for installation for my mod? I will of course credit you and change it to fit my mod it's just your instructions are sorta perfect.

The civilizations are not showing up when I set up a game.

@Earl of Noobs - I'm not sure about working on this mod. I've taken it about as far as I had planned. It was my 3rd mod, and I've learned so much since then. I'd love to "reboot" it into a more efficient, better performing version - with much better looking code.

The main changes I would focus on would be to rewrite the code that manages battlefield maps. Adding a new map requires rebuilding the entire mod. There are better ways of doing this, by passing data in from the map file itself. This way I could expand available content (new battles), without republishing the main mod.

But that means other things would slip. Man, there just aren't enough hours in the day... 😪
Φ Baron of Noobs May 15, 2019 @ 5:43am
lol thanks man you still working on mods this one specially?
S-Man  [author] May 15, 2019 @ 5:21am
I'm going to promote @Baron of Noobs to @Earl of Noobs. He is 100% correct on this one!

All hail! 🤗
Φ Baron of Noobs May 13, 2019 @ 9:54am
@nokmirt i think its because in the advanced setup its the start age is something other than ancient era, you could change this and then try. The same happened to me before when i started the game and i saw cities with skyscrapers.
S-Man  [author] Jan 4, 2019 @ 3:25am
@nokmirt - I've seen this error reported before. IIRC, I tried for quite a while to recreate it in testing but never saw this behavior.

Obviously there is a bug somewhere in the code, but I wasn't able to figure out exactly where.
nokmirt Jan 3, 2019 @ 8:51pm
I was playing the Egyptian campaign scenario as the French. It says I get 104 turns. Anyway I took the first city on the coast called Marbout I think. Then it showedd me the Agony screen saying the Ottomans got a domination victory. Is this a bug or something?
S-Man  [author] Nov 25, 2018 @ 6:37am
@「桜」 - this mod was never meant to played outside of the scenario maps. It would take an entire redesign of the mod to do this.

NAW was my 3rd mod and I didn't really didn't think about making it playable on any map when I finished it.

But, I learned a lot from this - and that's why the "sequel" to this mod - 'SMAN's World at War' - is designed differently than this one. That mod can be player on any map, not just the scenario maps (which haven't published yet).

This mod uses the artwork from many other mods (JFD, etc.), but the actual civs are unique to this mod. But none of them are published separately. No one has asked for this, so I figured there was no demand.
Rhombicosidodecahedron Nov 24, 2018 @ 10:26pm
How would I go about playing a normal non senario game with this mod? Such as using the new units, buildings and civilisations without the nessessity for domination or on a different map. I've noticed that some of the civilisations from this mod are JFD ones, are all the other new additions in this mod avalible seperatly?
Decima2014 Jul 21, 2018 @ 9:08am
Makes sense, thanks!

For some reason it works when i click the minimap and when I scroll around the map using the keyboard but not when using the mouse.
S-Man  [author] Jul 20, 2018 @ 12:17pm
@Thyrion007 - the Partisans are working as intended. They are "kamikaze" type units that are destroyed when they attack. This is why they do so much damage for such an inexpensive unit. Glass cannons who cannot survive an attack by more conventional forces.

The camera angle problem isn't something I've seen before. Can you move around by clicking on the mini-map? Also, have you tried navigating the map in the Strategic View?
Decima2014 Jul 20, 2018 @ 10:10am
I am unsure about the use of the partisan units, they seem to be completely destroyed whenever they fight any other unit, am I missing a use for them I have not noticed or is this a bug in my game.

Additionally, I can move the camera in any direction except upwards (as in from south of the map to north) in any of the maps. I have tried clearing the cache as suggested somewhere else in the forum but nothing changed, does anyone have any recommendations to solve this?

Thanks in advance.
gurrek2 Jul 3, 2018 @ 12:19am
I can't find the mod in the mod list
Marquis de Montcalm May 13, 2018 @ 9:40am
many other mods on roman empire, Middle earth, Napoleon III, Napoleonic other mod, and a lots of minimods that contains more factions but i didn't select the other mods when i play your mod
S-Man  [author] May 13, 2018 @ 9:34am
Well, about all I can recommend is to clear the game's cache, then restart Civ V and see if the same behavior occurs. A lot of times when we're adding/removing mods from our standard "play list" the game doesn't do a good job or removing unneeded mod content, which leaves lots of artifacts in the cache which shows up in odd ways later.

Clearing the game cache will at least let you start with a clean database and help ensure that at least the problem is isolated to the current mod list. What other mods are you loading?
Marquis de Montcalm May 13, 2018 @ 9:24am
erhm, but i have BNW..
Marquis de Montcalm May 13, 2018 @ 9:24am
yes of course! I have all dlc..
S-Man  [author] May 13, 2018 @ 9:18am
@RomA_InvictA - do you have BNW with all DLC installed? The mod requires this.

The Ottomans re-use some of the earlier cavalry unit models, so they might look a bit "antiquated" which is intentional. If the other playable civs have ancient spearman unit models appearing, it is probably due to a lack of BNW/DLC.
Marquis de Montcalm May 8, 2018 @ 7:05am
sorry but i have a problem with the cavalry units, lancers works, cossacks etc but "chasseurs à cheval", cuirassier and more appeared like egyptian or ancients spearmen??? help

austria cloth yellow? what..
S-Man  [author] Mar 4, 2018 @ 12:44am
@B0oOp & GosuSmoker - thanks! Am glad you're enjoying the mod. I put a lot of time in it so it would feel like a "tin soldiers on a terrain board" kind of game.

One thing to try is to clear the game cache, then reload just this mod and see if you see the same behavior.

Often, when you de-select a list of mods, then load in a new mod - there are various settings in the various databases that are set at values used in the previous mod list. Clearing the cache will force the values at the default values that this (and most other) mod expects, and help it perform more as intended. Let me know if it doesn't work.
GosuSmoker Mar 3, 2018 @ 2:34pm
This is fantastic MOD with great details, which I am enjoying thoroughly. I cannot imagine how much effort and time devoted for this. Thanks!

One thing I noticed is that I no longer can scroll up in this MOD. Scrolling left/right/down works fine, but up doesn't. I use this MOD only, with all DLCs. No game breaking, but still annoyed.
Liam Feb 21, 2018 @ 12:47am
First, I want to say that this mod is fantastic. The effort put into this is very noticable. I'm especially impressed at all the new units and their skins, and the mod overall is a great work. Unfortunately, for some reason none of the unit icons are visible, making it very difficult to keep track of units.

Note: I have all DLC installed, no mods activated except this one, and have never had a history of this before. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks! And keep up the good work!
S-Man  [author] Jan 20, 2018 @ 4:24am
@Mastertheif - sorry, the Field Marshals are hard coded. Each one is basically a unique unit with its own artwork. At one point, I was going to add "Brigadiers" - a sort of "lite" version of the FM with generic artwork, and it would be easier to add names for that. Haven't got there yet.

The rest of the units are named using the UnitNamer function. It is contained in the LUA folder. It is based on this mod:

Mastertheif Jan 19, 2018 @ 9:13pm
Is there a mod to add Field Marshals, or for the naming system for units that this mod uses?
S-Man  [author] Jan 3, 2018 @ 3:08am
@Ropshag - THANKS! Appreciate the compliment. I did put in a bit of time on this one, and I'm pretty happy with the overall results - seeing others happy with it as well is quite a good vibe. I've learned a lot about modding since doing this one, and I'd love to come back to it and get it working even better. "Soon" I hope... Thanks again!
Ropshag Dec 30, 2017 @ 8:47pm
Coming from a former mod developer for civ5, this is absolutely fantastic work. This must have taken a year+...
even19391945 Dec 2, 2017 @ 7:17pm
the round can faster ?
S-Man  [author] Dec 2, 2017 @ 4:48pm
OK - try to start the scenario again, but pay very close attention to steps #6-9 in the instructions.

If that doesn't fix the problem, about all I can suggest is to clear the game's cache (outside of Civ V), delete the entire Napoleon at War folder, the restart Civ V. This should force a clean download of the mod with a purged database, so any previous conflicts should no longer exist.

Between those two steps, it should solve the problem.
twaligora33 Dec 2, 2017 @ 1:42pm
yes
S-Man  [author] Dec 2, 2017 @ 10:53am
and all of the DLC?
twaligora33 Dec 2, 2017 @ 10:38am
owww ya i have BNW
S-Man  [author] Dec 2, 2017 @ 5:16am
@ twaligora33 - BNW is short for "Brave New World" - the second expansion pack for Civ V:

http://store.steampowered.com/app/235580/Sid_Meiers_Civilization_V_Brave_New_World/

This mod also reuses some artwork from several of the DLC from this link:

http://store.steampowered.com/bundle/575/Sid_Meiers_Civilization_V_Complete/

All of these are required for this mod to work correctly.
twaligora33 Dec 1, 2017 @ 3:45pm
everyone talks about but i don't know what BNW is, is it a mod.
S-Man  [author] Nov 30, 2017 @ 2:56pm
Do you have BNW? It is required for this mod.

If you do, then I'd recommend clearing the game cache, then restart the game and see if you get the same behavior.
twaligora33 Nov 30, 2017 @ 2:42pm
none
S-Man  [author] Nov 27, 2017 @ 1:47pm
@twaligora33 - what other mods do you have loaded?
twaligora33 Nov 27, 2017 @ 1:01pm
once i attack a person my game crashes and i can't pick a civ
S-Man  [author] Nov 12, 2017 @ 9:59am
Yes, it's the same problem for the Partisans/Tercio. The mod repurposes the G&K Austrian-unique unit "Hussar" model for all the Hussars in this mod. It's from the basic expansion, not DLC, so the ExpScen_TechPortraits64.dds file should be available for a BNW installation, at this location:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Sid Meier's Civilization V\Resource\DX9

The game uses the vanilla game's Spearman model any time there is a definition issue with any model - as a default to keep the game from crashing if it encounters something it doesn't like.

I suppose, in the future, it would improve compatibility if I just included the non-vanilla artwork in my own art files, so errors like these wouldn't pop up.

Can you start a game as the Austrians and see if you can eventually build the Hussar? IGE would speed things along if you don't have it installed.
Strm.Hocke Nov 12, 2017 @ 9:44am
it is playable, no crashes so far. but i didnt play long because of pikemen instead of hussars etc.
