maybe a blacklist could be a solution (mod options)
ATR adds a new "mechanic" job for mechanical surgeries fyi.
After removing your mod, my pawn performs the surgery on her own.
For Biotech paramedic mechs:
Its not possible to check if a Mech control group mode is ment for "working" due to mod capabilities from rimworld source itself - therefore mechs will be considered as "working" even if set on dormant recharging mode.
This MIGHT lead to surgeries not being done cause the dormant paramedic mech is considered as the best surgeron
Early/mid game when you've got several half baked docs desperately patching up your pawns with varying success post raid, but only want the 1 best trained doc going anywhere near the operating table, it's fantastic.
The moment you've got 2+ decent docs though the mod just creates a bottleneck 1 doc wide.
I had 9 people waiting for operations with a whole host of Evolved Organs queued up, and a bunch of doctor bots sat there on standby while my top doc ran himself ragged trying to deal with it all :/
Remembered I had this installed, removed the mod, and they're all now hard at work.
As the previous poster mentioned, some options would possibly solve this, but without looking at the code I can't say how much of a pain that would be.
I have about 6 doctors at the 19-20 range, and they may not do surgeries, because they aren't the absolute best available.
The mod Mining Priorities has such a feature for allowing to set a slider for who is allowed to mine the best ore, if they are, let's say 90% as good as the best miner to still mine valuable digging sites.
what happens when best dr is on caravan? does mod recognize that dr can't do the surgery?
Looked like people suspect this is breaking their game, not always clear "how." I can confirm that Pharmacist was causing the issues I had. My work-around before diagnosing the issue was to use Character Editor to "heal" my pawns. I don't like doing that, but you gotta do what you gotta do when things are broken.
