and check "show hidden controls"

for some reason when i apply or start with the rig on the valve and unofficial highpoly soldier models the arms get really messed up when angled upwards, i could send image proof but i dont know where i would, can someone help please? i dont want to use the default sfm rig

What do I do when the universal rig actually doesn't work for a model? For most models I have the rig works and it lists the bones correctly and puts the names in the right place (RightLeg, LeftArm, RightHand) and one body part will move correctly with the other moving parts. However, for some models I apply the rig and its as if nothing changes. All of the body parts are just in the "unknown" section, which tells me it didn't work.
