Look up Arrowcannon_sound_fix on the workshop. There should also be a link to the original thread on the page explaining why this problem existed and how it was fixed.

Don't try this until you've tried either the original or the workshop version of the sound_fix.pack. Easier to install and seems to give more consistent results.

Hey i found that some of the horse archers still encounter this issue.
Amriod Oct 7, 2020 @ 6:21pm
@Bondarchuk No worries, thanks!

@Amriod, unfortunately, I can't help you, but if this is a known problem, you can probably find a solution on the Internet
Amriod Oct 6, 2020 @ 5:48pm
@Bondarchuk Thanks for the mod! Helped fix me the cannon problem. I did notice that in Radious Vanilla shogun 2 the attack command plays a FOTS trumpet sound. Is there a way to fix this? Cheers!

This mod was the only thing that worked for me when I first encountered the bug
Edwyn May 2, 2020 @ 3:46am
hey guys, found my own fix which will take slightly longer but works. Go into your data file for shogun 2 and delete the sound and sound fix files. After this right click shogun 2 in your steam library and click properties, then local files and verify integrity of game cache. It should reinstall the missing files for the game. This might take a while, it had to do 8gb for me but maybe i was missing other files myself. I hope this helps someone.

@natknut look for "Arrowcannon_sound_fix" on the workshop. If that one doesn't work try "Cannon Sound Killer", good luck fam
natknut Aug 4, 2019 @ 11:26am
Seriously with my new surround sound the fact that every new game switches up which units sound like an armada going off causes my house to shake.

PLEASE SHOW THE ALTERNATIVES THIS MOD SUCKS

You're right, i was kinda pissed off because after so long i didn't expect this bug to still be there but yeah it does seem to work for some people but it seems random, i've tested it in 3 different systems and it doesn't work in any of them (But then again on one of those systems vanilla shogun 2 wouldn't even begin run without a full windows reinstall). In any case it shouldn't be up to the modders to fix the broken stuff left by CA.

In other news however i did end up finding some alternatives to this mod that do seem to work for me, i encourage everyone who has the bowmen sound bug to look them up in the workshop if Sinfonia Semplice isn't working.

<clap dem alien cheeks>, I'm not the creator of this mod. In theory, the mod should correct the class of sounds, where the cannonade of guns is replaced by the sound of arrows. Some classes really work, but do not expect that modders will not make other classes which are not here.
At the time of creation, this fix worked with old modifications. Support for new modifications, alas, no.
No one updated it.
If the modification has a crooked sound, complain to the creator of the modification, on his crooked hands.
And “that never worked” - has no reason, because the number of downloads and adding to favorites suggests otherwise.
Nevertheless, absolutely for every mod, this fix is not suitable, it all depends on luck.
Someone can try to update it, but ... I am engaged in the localization of modifications, and this fix was published because it simply wasn’t in steam.
Universal pill does not exist.

this mod doesn't work and it has never worked, i've spent unholly ammounts of time trying to fix the horrendous sound bugs this game has and i've come to the conclusion there just isn't one. at most this disables the mods that are causing the sound bug, which isn't really a fix is it

I doesnt work for me :(
Kronus Jun 9, 2017 @ 3:10am
well, for me worked perfectly. It all depends on the other mods you have. I see no reason to remove it from workshop as a viable solution for some people (that is, depending on the modset you are currently using).
Golden Feb 16, 2017 @ 1:16pm
!!READ BEFORE DOWNLOADING THIS FROM HERE!!
As others before me explained well on this page.
Putting Sinfonia Semplice on the workshop is wrong as isn't meant to work like other mods,it generates a pack file containing fixes for your mods and therefor won't work from the workshop because it will just copy it into the mod directory and WILL NOT launch the generation process.
Don't use Sinfonia Semplice from here as it is different depending on the mods you use it for and it is highly likely that it won't work from here (if it even could for anyone).
Go google it instead you will have more sucess in your attempts.
The publisher should remove it to avoid any misunderstanding from users :(
Spartanmatt Feb 15, 2017 @ 12:13am
Only thing that works for me is downlaoding the sound fixes that Radious or Darth provides.
Matrix Joe Feb 12, 2017 @ 8:04pm
this mod change nothing,my bow cavalys still shoot like guns
\/oron Agrrav Feb 12, 2017 @ 7:55am
You Don't use this, Google the name of the thing and run the file, This Workshop item is just a waste of time and should be removed for it's a solution for his specific combination of mods
Czkombo Feb 12, 2017 @ 7:13am
:(
nupe Feb 12, 2017 @ 5:41am
@Alx I have the same issue :AngrySword: :D
Slipnit Feb 12, 2017 @ 5:22am
Every now and again I try to see if sinfonia semplice manages to fix my Shogun 2, literally from completely clear start with only radious mods and SS after complete reinstall.

Still doesn't work after numerous tries after 8 cocking years. Now I'm just waiting for Shogun 3

THINGS TO NOTICE BEFORE SUBSCRIBING THIS MOD

From The_Yogi:
No, no, no, you can't just put sinfonia semplice soundfix like that: There's a reason why most modders put it bundled with their own mod or just point it out to the tool download.

The reason is, that the soundfix for each and every mod is different. A soundfix for Darthmod won't work with Radious, for example. Or someone have mod A, generate a soundfix for that mod, then add mod B, then the soundfix for mod A won't work anymore, the player must create new soundfix for Mod A+B.

Why I Copy+Paste this?
So anyone would read, before commenting that this mod will not work.
Rimming Enjoyer Feb 11, 2017 @ 6:33pm
Yeah, I dont even use any unit mods, and I still get the sound bug with this fix.
Radscorpion Feb 11, 2017 @ 2:23pm

will this work
heinous_hat Jan 15, 2017 @ 12:40pm
The_Yogi is quite correct... you cannot use an SS output pack as a general solution to mismatched sound effects. The SS tool is meant to be run on a data directory with the mods you intend to use in place. It's output pack is specific to that combination. If you alter or add any mod containing a units table, you should generate a new fix pack.

Even when used correctly, there are certain precautions one must take in structuring a mod's units table(s) in order to get proper output from the tool. It's quite finnicky.

Unfortuantely, this exceptionally annoying bug was introduced with the FotS expansion and never addressed by the developer.
