I agree with you, the LOD model must be worked again so that it have less "break" there.

but: you have been very hard on the lod in my opinion. a little more details would be appreciated. i think you could make a really fluent transition between model and lod with about 100 tris. those "thinner" parts of the building should be seen in lod, too.
and i really think that it is a pity that the lod-model doesn't show any enlightened windows. that fact really jumps into ones eye when zoomin out/in.
