There isn't a way to make meal prep require an ingredient that does not have significant "nutritional value" without rewriting the base code for all meal prep, and I'm not equipped for that (not a programmer, don't have compiler etc). I can't make the salt resource have less nutritional value than it does now because Tynan set a floor for that value to be allowed for meal prep. I guess if you think it's OP to be able to eat the salt/prepare higher quality meals then don't use this mod ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It was a little odd actually. I had them using like.. 50 salt at a time, as weird as It was to make 'extremely salty soups' -cough- Ramen. I found It rather weird. I mean. It even worked with lavish meals too, seems a bit unfair If you have someone mining with their ass on fire, no?

Well here's a surprise feature: the salt resource I added with this mod counts as an ingredient for fine/lavish meals. That wasn't exactly intended and isn't very easy to prevent with just config file editing (maybe impossible) but tbh I'm completely OK with it, it's not unrealistic and it's way less efficient than farming anyway.

@Gunblast, if you don't have any fuel (or don't want to use any for food production) then you can produce meals at the Crafting Spot with only salt. There's no other game mechanic advantage over the jerked meats meals from the Medieval Times mod, just a different graphic.

@V2013, no, although I've watched my colonists eat the meals produced by this mod and it takes them to about 80% full so I don't think your problem of colonists eating several meals at a time is coming from this mod \o/

Can my colonists pick up 5 salted meats at once time to eat ?

Why should I cook cured meat over jerked meat?

The nutrition value of a salted meat meal is the same as the Medieval Times mod's jerked meats, and this mod is balanced against Medieval Times numbers.

Hi. Nutririon of salted food is low. Colonists pick up 1 pcs of salted food, eat it. And then them go to take another 1 pcs... and another one.. and another one.. so there is many time losts to eat it many times. Check it please, becouse solonists pick up 5 pcs of pemms and at it.

Fixed - I had to assign a very small nutritional value to salt, so in the unlikely event you have tons of salt and no meat to cure, your colonists will try to just eat the salt :V

Meal recipe does not actually use the salt ingredient (oops). Working on that!
