seem lacking ruins, and ruins end up too far away.

How do you load scenarios in the mod section of CivV
Moak Oct 25, 2012 @ 11:50am
Can you play multiplayer??

Thanks for the feedback. Relentless barbarians having a variety of units based on geography and a much improved navy was what I was striving for. The non-random barbarians do start off with much better units than normal and I the "pirates" in the center of the map will pretty much slaughter any weak attempt to colonize the middle areas or the central islands. If I was only good enough at modding I would make a "better barbarians" mod to mimic my set up of this.

Fun mod, I'm about halfway through a game on King and have found it really fun to explore the map and challenging to keep units alive from the relentless pirates (barbs)

Now I have the Patch and all the DLCs. I will try the map now. Hope I have fun!

Map is now called Riverworld 2 now and does work properly. On some slower PCs it might take a few seconds after the intro dialogue to load.

This scenario/map is now fixed to have no mod dependencies (or forest on mine tiles...) but does need G+K and the extra DLC societies. It should play with most mods you wish added on top, I tested it with no mods and a variety enabled. I wish I knew to script this map type into a variant of inland sea with islands and navigable rivers.
Brian_the_Brute  [author] Jul 30, 2012 @ 8:14am
I originally bought the Game of the Year edition which came with all of those and then added G+K. You can buy the regular version add G+K and DL Gengis Khan's Mongolia, Harald Bluetooth's Denmark, Kamehameha's Polynesia Empire and Nebuchadnezzar's Babylon separately. This scenario relies on those being there for gameplay and tile improvements.

Am I doing something wrong, or why I can't find those DLCs at the Steam Shop? ;(
Brian_the_Brute  [author] Jul 30, 2012 @ 7:16am
I have updated this with G+K and DLC required only. The other mods change version too much or dissappear so those dependencies were removed. Additional mods you wish to add should work but are no longer required. The DLC societies are needed as there are features dependent on Polynesia (Moai) and there is a need for more naval oriented societies.

Can you make a map please, without all the DLCs and without the herdsman? Only G&K and the unofficial patch.
Brian_the_Brute  [author] Jul 29, 2012 @ 10:17am
Herdsmen not being available anymore in the workshop means this is not going to work as I was going to suggest mirroring my favorited list to get this to work as well.
Brian_the_Brute  [author] Jul 29, 2012 @ 9:36am
Just found out I uploaded the right file name from the wrong folder (older version). It had forest on a mine on 3 hexes stopping it from loading. I will repost as version2 soon.
Brian_the_Brute  [author] Jul 28, 2012 @ 11:18am
Its a very legendary start, lots of forest sparse on resources away from the rivers. Herdsmen over time can fix that. This is an epic set up designed for someone who has all the add-ons and is looking for a new challenge. I don't think many would want to play this online as it would take too long to complete.
G&K. DLC societies Polynesia, Celts, Sweden, Dutch, Babylon, Iroquois.
You need to subscribe in the workshop (and check them in the mods list in the game) to these mods to get it to work:
Beyond the Future
Civ V Unofficial patch (which needs G+K anyways)
Unit Herdsmen
Unimited units per tile (recommended)
Wonder downloads, enough for 12 societies to have some each (recommended)
Good huts no maps.

I'm not experienced with the mods enough to package the mods I used to one easy option to choose. If anyone knows of a guide to this, please let me know.

sounds like riverwood, shame it wont work if u dont have g&k maby a patch to fix that?
⸸ [removed by moderator] ⸸ Jul 27, 2012 @ 7:35am
Epic map, but it wont start! I have G&K but when I start the map, it loads and crashes. Where can I download the unofficial patch?
Brian_the_Brute  [author] Jul 19, 2012 @ 7:07pm
Sorry about that, this is my first try at this.

The mods are required, the game does crash if you don't have the basic ones. You do need G+K, the new societies (polynesia, celts, etc..), unofficial patch and herdsmen for sure to cover the units and societies in the scenario. I have disabled some of the non-core mods such as the wonder mods and I know the scenario will load for me.

Not sure why just the map wouldn't load without the scenario enabled. I have run the map random without the scenario enabled and it plays by putting most of the civs at the ends of the rivers and populates the sea with most of the city states and plays pretty good as well.
Old Man Jul 19, 2012 @ 6:32pm
well thiis looks like a great mod however it wont succesfully load, It just clocks out until windows decides its not respionding. Are "extreme" system requirements necessary to mke this happen? I realize its a huge map. I cant even load it as a map muchless a senerio. Are the Mods required to make it load?
Brian_the_Brute  [author] Jul 19, 2012 @ 9:47am
Thanks! to all who have posted mods to the game making it 10x better than the original. If I knew how to do lua scripting, I would post this type of design up as a map generation option.
