@Ruggedgolem

You should always remove potentially overlapping mods regardless of how little they may seem to interact.
Mainly because Starbound's game engine is about three steps away from incineration, and overlaps is a lit match.

Don't be a fool, remove Xbawks and get this bitch if you truly require it.

So if I get this mod do I need to get rid of Xbawks mod or does it just overide it?

The Lone Wolf Apr 15, 2022 @ 10:31am

@Naii Starwing
Do you still have the 340 version? I recently hit 100 races but am looking to add more.

это лучший мод на расы, так как количество модифицированных рас уже больше 70
Pan Jan 21, 2021 @ 10:19am
is it still working?
RubyRiolu Nov 23, 2020 @ 3:17pm
This is the only character extender I'll ever use! Been using it since about three months after I first got Starbound and really can't praise it enough!
From Brazil I guess Aug 1, 2019 @ 7:01pm
yes, now I can finally download every race mod there is on the workshop
Naii Starwing Jul 28, 2019 @ 1:17pm
Hey, I made a 340 version using this as a base. Doesn't feel right posting it myself. Hit me up if you want it. Otherwise, I'm keeping it local.

As more races keep coming like the fragments of ruin, mods like these are gonna start to shine more.

Now all we need is a 1000 race extender
K_H Mar 16, 2019 @ 4:53am
Thank you. This is exactly what I needed for the sheer number of races that I downloaded.

honestly, it is simply a gui replacement. it just replaces the gui for character creation. It should overwrite any files in xbawks if loaded after, but I can't guarantee it will still function. You don't NEED more than one character creator extension mod, but it really should be impossible to erase your chars either way just by installing either.

If you have mods that require xbawks, you have two options. Go into the files in them and edit where the mod depends on another. Take it out. The other option comes with no guarantees, but it seems others get it working by installing both. If you do that, install mine after xbawks in load order so my interface files get used instead. It is just the graphics and an array that specifies more slots. It really can't do anything to your characters, since it is ONLY called when you create new ones.

you can read the character descriptions, except in the upper right top row. I haven't found a fix for it, and am not currently playing. I COULD reprogram it from scratch to find the error. Real life stuff making me slow to get back to this. I spent a lot of time on that error and even asked others if they see what I did wrong. One of those frustrating mystery errors. I do intend to fix, just may take me a while to get to it. Might be more efficient to code a new one form scratch with more slots.

i have it installed along with xbawks, it works fine. and boy am i grateful for that. since so many race mods have xbawks as a required mod, i need to keep it. wish people weren't so crazy over xbawks honestly, it just doesn't add enough slots for race hoarders like me. so either xbawks needs to add more slots or people need to not require it for their races

This is great for people like me who impulsively subscribe to every race they see.

I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

See, why don't people recommend this instead of Xbawk's? Far more space to work with.
HimboGod Jul 18, 2017 @ 1:13am
New races keep coming out, really. xD That's the problem.

For xbawks, you will have to ask that mod maker. If they are just gui mods, like this, there is no special method to uninstall. Only when a mod adds objects such as furniture that your save game will store, do you need to do anything special.

In that case, you have to remove every instance of anything added by the mod to the world. Like if it adds a table, you would have to enter your world, remove every instance of the table that mod added, then save and exit. Only then should you remove the mod that adds something. For something that adds things generated to worlds, like dungeons and the like... I am not entirely sure you can delete those mods once installed.

TL;DR: any mod that only changes GUIs or function and doesn't ADD ITEMS or OBJECTS to a saved game, can be deleted and replaced at will. Erase items added by mods in a save game before deleting or replacing those mods.

Thank you! Due to Frackin' Races, I filled all the race slots.
Xordaii  [author] Mar 25, 2017 @ 7:46am
This mod doesn't touch your saves. All it does is change the menu GUI (graphical user interface) you see while creating a NEW character. You don't even see it until you make a new character. Old characters aren't touched. However, the game does make some saves invisible if they are unavailable because your save depended on mod CONTENT you have removed from game. If you remove mods which touch content (new furniture, armor, game mechanics) you must remove all of those from the world first or you can't use that save game. You have to reinstall the mod, remove those items, then uninstall. That said, GUI mods do not affect saves. This mod should never do that.

I love that this is actually necessary. To think that it wouldn't be if they'd just made the race selection screen a scrollable list that new races getted added to the end of.
