i have the same issue as @Andy Arachne , getting out of bed is taking forever, and it's also showing that it uses up all of my CPU in Task Manager. Should definitely get fixed.

This is such a cool mod! I really like the direction this went, I'm a huge fan of that whole SCP type of secret organization doing bizarre experiments that the public knows nothing about concept, it's just so COOL! I'm glad I started actually catching up on some of the custom stories people have made for SOMA!

not bad. first part was too rough for being an introduction — not very welcoming. voice acting couldve been less monotone, but that's between the voice actor and god. overall it's good, i enjoyed it.

I am kinda stuck right now, so I am not sure if it is somehow solved, but isn't it a bad idea to have a lever at the start of the game, that just doesn't let the player progress further later on?

Been waiting for an hour for it to load the first map after getting out of bed, out of the 10 or so mods I grabbed, This is the first one to take an hour to load, Can someone who has played this mod let me know how long it should take to load the levels?

You can tell a lot of hard work was put into this mod, but it doesnt feel like a polished product and the player ends up suffering as a result. The voice acting of the main character is done by someone speaking in the same monotone depressed voice which deters you from playing the mod to begin with ("Theres.... welll.... dangerous stuff down here" sounds like its read by someone whos been woken up in the middle of the night). Additionally, the level design is horrendous. To get the story going once youre in the complex you have to get up onto a box to reach this control room but in order to get onto the box you need to chince the game. Thats just a sample of the poor level design. Overall a good effort for a mod but it needs FAR more work to be considered enjoyable

It looked very good but the underwater sewers is where i got stuck. Drowned a couple of times and then got killed by that monster that spawns underwater. So I gave up

Agree with Arthur. I can't believe the Dev actually thought the underwater valve puzzle was a good idea. Its even more infuriating when you find out the monster can get you while your on the ladder after doing the whole puzzle and then having to do it all over again even though you would have won if not for the monster getting you on the ladder.

I got lost at the very beginning(Sewers) and that's a red flag. Why even let player jump down giant pipes filled with water? To sit there for minute waiting to drown? Why throw green lights there?Don't you know how light guidance works? That's not what SOMA level design is. That's not what FRICTIONAL GAMESl level design is. Frustrating. Mod can hardly tell player what he supposed to do. Questonable choices like when you have to turn 3 valves underwater. Developers thought doing it with monster while underwater would have been tense, but it is just as dissapointing and annoying as you could imagine. Clunky enemies. Item placement in the world makes no sense. I know, keys in the vents are for "secret ending"(kill me), but dear god that RUINS THE FUCKING IMMERSION, couldnt you come up with something more fitting? Voice acting? Dont even get me started.

Fun mod,really enjoyed playing it.The 5th ending made it even better!
I did notice a spelling mistake in the expedition text file on the first pc in your home.
It says : "containig" instead of "containing".Also by using pretty simple movement and parkour you can easily get way out of bounds in some parts,but thats not really an issue.Overall an enjoyable experience.

Streamed your mod tonight and I loved it! Had some snags along the way - infamous underwater section feels like it could have done with some better indications to the player on where to go, and a couple other areas felt claustrophobic and difficult to avoid enemies but overall I think I managed to do a decent job of surviving once I figured out where to go.

the objectives. In the first part that I played I cannot continue. I pulled the pipes on all 3, hit the switch, went underwater and handled that pipes there, and then had some chips for something that never was explained or dialogued. I spent a whole hour rummaging around to find what the heck IM supposed to do and I can't tell if my save bugged and something didn't remain active but the switch is still pulled. The pipes are still on. The underwater travel is still done.

Your idea of level 1 was more advanced and impossible to achieve without dying than any part of the actual SOMA game, to which I flawlessed on my first run on. Worst possible first impression, I cannot continue, I will not look up how to beat a mod or story based game. It defeats the purpose of puzzle based survival games.

good god this underwater section is frustrating. Turned all 3 valves on after dying a few times, only to die looking for wherever the main pump switch is, then load back to before I turned any valves. There should be a save point after all 3 valves are turned. I dont really want to do all tjhat again.

The creatures can be a little iffy at times (I had no idea how to deal with one of them until it had killed me about six times), but they seem to act differently from the base game's monsters. The voice acting is meh, but it's hardly professional. I chose the "safe" route through the second half of the game, and so maybe I missed a lot there, but not a whole lot happens if you do that. It's possible the "dangerous" route has more to it. All in all, it was a pretty good experience.

Most idiotic and buggy mod ever, cant get through the pumps, all valves are bugged and on the first one, a stupid mob spawn in a place there is NO WAY to hide.

Very poorly made, no balance, sad.

An enjoyable mod, with only two downsides for me.

1. Voice actors need a little more emotion, to emphasize what is happening to them.

2. The platforming segment needs something to add a layer of fear. I found myself getting bored there.

Really good story, just finished it, got the Rebellion ending. If I were to make some kind of review of this mod I'd say this:

Really good ambience, amazing environments, catchy gameplay, the story is fine (it's not bad at all but it's not THAAAT MINDBLOWING, just normal), some things were kinda predictable which lacked the scaring factor but some others compensed that by doing something wonderful, pretty much one of the best mods I've ever played in terms of gameplay. Loved the graphics, how you retextured monsters; loved also the variety in playability since it's kinda a short story. You managed to do well in almost everything. The only thing that SUCKED with all letters (to be honest) was the dialogs, they fucked up the ambience so bad and got me out of the mood, guess you should hire some more voice actors hahaha, and that's pretty much what lowered my score, in spite of some stupid glitches that are not that important (such as pixelated shadows n shit).

Clearly a lot of work went into this. Well done. Sucks I wasn't able to see the kate player model, only reason I didn't let the freaks loose on her. Lots of gameplay and an intriguing story 10/10

Well, it crashes the game. I mean - literally. Yes, I waited, 10 minutes, nothing happened, stuck loading. Then I tried a few days later, it actually killed the main executable (stopped working). That's it about this mod then.

Pro:
-Pretty good voice acting for a mod
-Solid map design. Aside from a couple of minor glitches (it's possible to get trapped behind geometry in some places, and textures in some of the ducts aren't aligned properly) the maps were mostly bug free and well designed
-The endings add decent replay value

Con:
-Even with changes the underwater puzzle is frustrating. The placement of a monster in an area full of obstacles makes escaping undamaged an annoying chore
-Slight framerate dips in the outdoor area

All told a well made campaign, well worth playing.

This is some genuinely good stuff. The patrol routes of the monsters sometimes could be a bit annoying (Hey, let's gallop right to the exit of whatever crawlspace the player left by now) but I suppose that is necessary to keep you on your toes.

@ModelGalaxy12 Make sure you have the latest version of SOMA, also try playing it without a controller plugged in or not in 4k resolution? Those things kinda caused some issues when saving IIRC. If that doesn't work try reinstalling soma?

Like the mod, loved the small redesigns of monsters.
But let me get this straight.
1. You are a blogger that does Schit about abandoned buildings and such.
2. Kate calls you to another one of the aforementioned buildings.
3. It turns out that there is a containment breach and you can do stuff.
4. A shadowy organisation governs it, but as it turns out kate (as she talks about her "GROUP" and a "Safe house") is a member of ANOTHER organisation, that gathers intell.
5. And you get to chose which organisation to join.

the underwater valve room is very hit and miss ie i mean the monster can totally move from room or he wont go at all leaving u to drown, wtf is there 4 medkits in storage room? wudnt they av been better sread out thru levels? rather than 4 be in same place? and theres also 1 on halway. ps 1 medkit wud av been fine there tbh can u please put these medkits somewer were they wud actually be needed?
