Just curious, but how the hell am I supposed to create these weapons? Because the one handed version requires a 2 handed goldbrand katana, which requires a one handed weapon of the same thing. So, I'm confused

For when/if you do come back... What if it didn't wind up connected to the Dark Brotherhood at all?

Why not find it on a pedestal in the Ragget Flagon? A relic of better times, before whatsisname stole the Skeleton Key? Stealing Goldbrand from the Emperor would be almost as important to the thieves' guild as killing him would be to the Dark Brotherhood... and this would leave the player the option of either following the TG questline or simply stealing it from the thieves.

I originally intended the sword to also be delivered as a part of the destroy the dark brotherhood quest reward but I had a problem scripting it without actually altering any vanilla content (which is something I try to avoid). I have a lot more experience now so I probably could go back and patch that up but unfortunately I have a job that eats up all my free time now.

If I get back into modding my first priority is my half-finished daedric crescent quest but I'll definitely put a non-emperor-killing alternative on this if I can.

Just one problem, I don't like the DB questline. (sigh) I always, ALWAYS, chop it short by killing Astrid in the shack, then slaughtering everyone in the lair at the Oculatus guy's request. Ah well, I shall have to accept a break from immersion and cheat myself the sword.

Your argument is valid, but the Ring of Phynaster once left me when I had the greatest need for it and I quickly died a horrible death. I've been left with the distinct impression this is how Daedric artifacts are returned to their princes.

Boethia wants you to kill his/her/its previous champion to claim the Ebony Mail (or at least the lame excuse for it in Skyrim) so I feel like if I were to write a Daedric quest to claim Goldbrand it would involve assassinating Titus Mede. I'm afraid this might potentially conflict with another Skyrim quest line.

If you'll recall, Daedric artifacts are said to vanish when their time with one wielder is done, and mainly be attainable only by doing a special quest for the Daedric Prince who spawned them.

Perhaps Goldbrand should be given as a reward for doing a quest for Boethiah, as it was in Morrowind? After all, it has been many years since Titus Meade's battle. Surely it would have left his possession by now...
