i just started a campaign with the dwarf slayer king and only getting 1 skill point per level, dont know if this is a big deal or not.

Hey everyone, I made a port of this mod for Warhammer 2 that preserves WH2's faster leveling and level cap of 40. It has two points per level for lords from level 10 to 40 and two points every five levels for heroes up to level 40. You can find it here. I hope Blaze doesn't mind that I made this port since they weren't able to for Warhammer 2.

Blaze I was thinking that the way you could do it for Warhamme II is do 2 points for Lords every 3 levels, so 3,6,9,12,15 etc and then 3 points at 40 this should give you 15 additional points for Lords so a total of 55 Points which with the new Skill Trees and how many points there are... that's about the same as you're +20 to Game I

I'd say Heroes are fine at lvl 40... infact I think they have to many points as you can almost completely fill up their skill trees.

Would you be amenable to a slightly different rate of expansion? For my own games and playing I feel like Generals should get double skill point from level 2 then petre out so in the end there is ~75% more points total. Then maybe everyone else woudl remain as you designed. I think this would make less people get killed by agents and other annoying agent actions.

@kingkenneththegreat Not at all i am afraid, I thought WH2 would be an update applied to WH1, but since it is a standalone game i do not have access to the game files. So unfortunately i cannot crate this mod for WH2

Yes Blaze, The character is Kihar the Tormentor that has the five extra skill points.

Azrik the Maze Keeper have 20 points, but is blank, ie no where to put said points.

@Arhok Subdcribing & unsubscribing to any mod in the middle of a playthrough is generally not something you should do. Though you can allways make a backup of your saves and try it out, that way you can allways unsubscribe and revert back to the old saves if something is not to your liking :)

is it compatible with saved games? i subscribed and have a lvl 9 lord and lvl 6 hero.
will the hero get his missing skill point from becoming lvl 5 and not having the mod? or in other words, does it work in retrospect?

@Ragnar It sounds like you describe a Hero unit called Kihar the Tormentor? He spawns just like The Green Knight and Azrik the Maze Keeper with 30 skill points? If so then i might have to update this mod and create a skill point dump for him.

@Cass I do not know, I never played multiplayer with mods, ask this question to the total war forum.

@Wati Azrik the Maze Keeper & The Green Knight is working as indended, that is the skill point dump you see, it lets you spend the excess skill points. There is a hero i hear now called Kihar the Tormentor that i have not created a skill point dump for because i never heard of him before.

I need more confirmation about Kihar the Tormentor before i do anything, I do not own norsca so someone has to test this out if he needs a skill point dump.

Bugs on Norsca god allegiance bonus units since the bonus lord/hero starts with 30 skill points. (The skill tab is blank)

Kihar the Sorcerer for the norsca factions has 5 skilled points unable to be removed. His max level is 30 with the 5 extra. Just thought I'd let you know and thanks for keeping the mod active!

@Rhinopotamus First I will need to find out if it is only LL and not Lords that can be leveled up to 40 (I have not checked much about W2 since i can't buy it at the moment).
Then i need to find out if it will apply to Warhammer 1 LL aswell, or only new LL from Warhammer 2.
After that i will have to find out if the reason for the 40 points is that CA is generous or if the new LL skill trees contain a larger pool of skills to spend points on, so they need an increase point pool.

As you can see I do not have an answer for you, but I will try to balance when to give points, and how many to give around those variables.

Blaze what do you intend to do about LL being able to level up to 40 in Game II (and most likely the combined map?) Will you just let the last ten levels be normal for them, and so they'll get 10 extra points?

Was playing a campaign as agrywon or something and i mostly just got 1 skill point i had 2 skill points maybe three or four times. might have been cause of the patch today cause it was working fine last few campaigns :<

@LateNightOption Yes that is the skill dump solution (credits to Radious)
It affects your campaign in a good way, That skill point dump prevents Azrak and The Green Knight from glitching out.

@Charlie Sabre Pretty sure it has to be something on your end, you can troubleshoot your game by only using this mod, then start a new campaign on easy and rush through it to recruit grombrindal and level him up to 10.

What does "skill dump" mean, I unlocked Azrik in the Norsca Camp, and he has 30 points to spend, but only one skill with three slots and it's blank. Is this the "skill dump" and how does that effect my campaign? Thanks and great mod btw!

I see so if i got another mod for changing the mount requirements for unlock lv it wouldnt conflict with your mod? cool beans.
you may still want to consider placing the 1 point per lv somewhere in the middle tho It shouldn't cause any problems with miscalculation as long as you have the same number of lvs with one point per lv. and putting it in the middle lets the ai take full advantage and also gives players a "slow period" to enjoy the direction they took their character in before proceeding to lv them up. effectively letting them play as the character they want to be without the game being totally finished by the time they get there.

Hey, guys, just want to share, that it's really easy to make a few changes, and get whatever settings you want (like 2 from lvl 5, or 2 for levels 2-20, 1 for 21-30). I googled that guide , and then it's basically just get Pack File Manager (you won't need other stuff), open the mod (in your TW:W/data folder), and just edit some numbers. Oh, and when you save the changes as "whateveryouwant" mod it will be tagged as an "out-of-date" but that's because you have to upload it to get it green otherwise, and that would be unsightly, considering that all the work was done by Blaze, practically :)

And Blaze, sorry for being a lazy a$$, it was literally a 5 min work from searching to editing. Keep up the good mods!

Thank you for the nice feedback mate, though my answers might not be to your liking I still very much apreciate the feedback :)

You gave a good point about giving double in the beginning, but if players forget that it is back to 1 point in the end they will be devastated when they realize they have calculated the skill points of their awesome Lord or LL wrong and suddenly go back to getting 1 point from level 25-30, or like you wanted it 20-30.

Regarding changing the skill tree, that is a separate DataBase table and would cause this mod more incompatbility with other mods. What you are looking for is a mod that revamps the skill tree, it is better to do a separate mod for that.

uppon further reflection I would do 2 points per lv for the first 20 lvs then do 1 point per for 10 lv then go back to 2 points per lv till the end.

and on that note could you also lower the lv requirements for the mounts by about half and decrease their upkeep by about half so that the Ai will use them, dont get me wrong I totally want to get my dragon riding glade lord asap, grinding rebellions for twenty lvs to get him before I am a world dominating dictator is really booring, but I also want to have some epic dragon on dragon fights that just dont happen ever on the campaign

so why if i may ask did you decide to do the ten levels at the beginning instead of at the end as in 50-60 is one point per lv? I mean the Ai rarely lets any of its generals aside from ll even get to lv 10 so its already a disadvantage to them.
