(if i want to know how much is in a stack/the name, i'll just click on it)
Is this in your future plans by any chance?
Vegetable Garden is one of my favorite mods, but because of the sheer amout of new resources, it is so hard to manage. My freezers are gigantic. Your mod would be a godsend here.
GouRIMet mod also has some weird stacking.
To address this, I've found multiple stockpile zones is the way to minimize non-maxed stacks. I have my general stockpile for nonperishable and then multiple smaller ones near the doors (which happens to be my workshop.) My general stockpile is set to normal priority. The smaller ones are set to preferred. This will keep the smaller stockpiles at maxed stack quantities if you have enough materials.
We don't use the metric system here, but I'm sure that translates to more than a crap ton; which I know from experience is quite a bit.
With normal stacks I have shells in 1x1 storage near mortars. I make a bunch of shells and they get spred around to several spaces near my mortars. With this mod one single space holds so many that none of the other spaces ever get shells distributed to them. I change tactics and go with one stack near the mortars but the problem is when a colonist reserves the stack for collecting a resource it locks the stack out from another colonist also collecting one. This happens in vanilla too, but with smaller stack sizes the items are usually spread around to several stacks.
It would appear to be a failing of the core game that is execerbated by the huge stack sizes. The work around would be if the quantities of a product in a stack can be selectively limited. I have absolutely no idea if that is possible but it would really streamline item distribution
Also, this mod compunds with the original Increased Stack. Having both gives a max of 7500 in most things, instead of 750, probably because of the different ways they're done. Of course, it doesn't do it for meat and leather, but makes piling up other resources much more space efficient.
