@BonthoPaeva: It was a casualty of the expansion of Europe. :P
Heblo Sep 30, 2016 @ 11:43am
What happened to Finland?
Veneke  [author] Feb 24, 2016 @ 12:15am
@jamesyork2199: Glad to hear that it's been fixed!
@Felhasznalotakarok: I haven't tried it on multiplayer but it's just a map file so I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work.
@jml: Always nice to hear man, thanks!
ForevaNoob Wonemorturn Feb 23, 2016 @ 3:23pm
Did I ever tell you this one has been my favorite TSL Earth map ever? The standard size being the one my comp enjoys playing until the end.
My thanks
Barnaby Feb 15, 2016 @ 2:14pm
This is working multiplayer?
Hauny_Boy Dec 29, 2015 @ 12:20pm
@veneke oh thanks you very much, the problem is solved
Veneke  [author] Dec 28, 2015 @ 2:14am
@JamesYork: Make sure that you tick the the Load Scenario checkbox. After you've activated the map in the mods section go to Set-up game. Select the desired map, hit back out of the map selection screen, and make sure to tick the Load Scenario checkbox.
Hauny_Boy Dec 27, 2015 @ 6:14am
so how do i get to where all the countrys are in there right place? for im face with the problem of radom placing
Veneke  [author] Dec 15, 2015 @ 4:20pm
Glad to hear that you're enjoying the map Muaetih! Sorry to hear about the game crashing. Unfortunately there's not really anything I can do about that. You could open the map up in scenario editor and remove some Civs and City-States? There's no guarantee that'll solve your problem though. :/

@Joshua - Sorry man, I've long since stopped updating this map pack. You can tweak it yourself with Worldbuilder though. Just download the Civ SDK (Games - Tools, scroll through the list it's under Sid Meiers Civilization V SDK iirc) and load the map up in Worldbuilder. You can play around with the civs etc from there. Unfortunately it's not very user-friendly. If you have any specific questions about it though I'll be happy to help answer them!
Muaetih Dec 15, 2015 @ 1:00pm
very good map!!! I enjoy it a lot... until it crashes :(
Cleave Nov 18, 2015 @ 6:10pm
anyway you could switch byzantine to the ottomans?
Emerion Aug 28, 2015 @ 2:54am
@veneke Alright thanks i'll try that. i appreciate the answer :)
Veneke  [author] Aug 27, 2015 @ 11:06pm
@Emerion: This is probably because you didn't tick the Load Scenario checkbox. After you've activated the map in the mods section go to Set-up game. Select the desired map, hit back out of the map selection screen and make sure to tick the Load Scenario checkbox. I haven't loaded this up in a good long while, but if TSL isn't working then this is almost certainly the problem.
Emerion Aug 27, 2015 @ 5:48pm
Somehow my TSL isnt working. as rome i start in south america.
Bias Galtar Mar 25, 2015 @ 4:08am
@Veneke Thanks
Veneke  [author] Mar 24, 2015 @ 6:34pm
@Venetian - I'd appreciate a shout-out somewhere if you make it public, but otherwise go for it mate.
Bias Galtar Mar 24, 2015 @ 3:48pm
would you be okay with me using this for a scenario im working on?
Dittersdorff Sep 28, 2014 @ 5:36pm
Thanks Veneke! I hope you got inspired and make a small earth map! nevertheless there are cool things now that I've seen in other scenarios such as maximum number of cities and starting age and alo plagues, which could make the scenario faster with less cities and units... I stil have tio wait 30-60 second each turn! Thanks again!
Veneke  [author] Sep 7, 2014 @ 12:53am
I'm glad people are enjoying the map. Unfortunately, however, no further updates are planned. A number of technical irritations with how custom maps are handled has eroded my enthusiasm for continuining work on this. I may revisit this style of map for Civ:BE, but otherwise I'm afraid someone else will have to take up the map; or we'll have to wait for Civ 6 - whenever that may be...
Dittersdorff Sep 4, 2014 @ 8:59am
I also liked Venetia instead of Rome
Dittersdorff Sep 4, 2014 @ 8:58am
can you add an earth world map in small size? for those that don't want to wait 30 seconds per turn after industrial age? thanks!
jimmy.chunho Aug 9, 2014 @ 6:50pm
This mod is really great, but if with more choice of diff civ by more map, it is even better...
Hopeasusi Mar 8, 2014 @ 4:16am
No Mongolia meens there's a large part of the world with no civ, no cool
Socrates Jul 27, 2013 @ 9:52pm
can u update the screen shots
Veneke  [author] Jul 15, 2013 @ 12:03am
An updated map for BNW has been released. Two big changes; raging barbs is now off, cause barbs in BNW are all kinds of scary and Mongolia has been cut (had to cut someone to fit Indonesia and I never really liked Mongolia). One potential annoyance; I left Venice out partly because there are only 22 slots going and partly because, like Austria before them, I consider their UA game-breaking. Let me know what you think of the map.
Βηc|Thrallzuma Jul 9, 2013 @ 6:39am
ahhh well too bad i suppose, its still a very good map, i dont have so much of a powerful computer so i really like this map
Βηc|Thrallzuma Jul 9, 2013 @ 6:37am
well i saw the civilopedia and there was 3 i think but they must be the ones youre talking about
Veneke  [author] Jul 9, 2013 @ 6:36am
Unfortunately, the technical capabilities required to allow civ selection on a custom map has proven to be beyond my capabilities. I've tried, twice, to get it to work and failed miserably both times.
Veneke  [author] Jul 9, 2013 @ 6:35am
New resources, are you sure? The only ones I know about are the three different resources that Indonesia gets by settling on a continent other than their starting continent. If there are others though, I'll definitely include them.
Βηc|Thrallzuma Jul 9, 2013 @ 6:35am
Also wanted to know if you could make it like been able to choose which civs will be playing and all that and still the TSL please
Βηc|Thrallzuma Jul 9, 2013 @ 6:32am
thanks again for the reply and theres also new resources to the game im in the
US and i got yesterday and theres a couple of new resources. i would lend it to you man if i could, they should do that in steam, like the new ps4 thats coming out
Veneke  [author] Jul 9, 2013 @ 1:05am
Certainly, and I'm already pretty sure how it's going to be updated (details follow) but I don't get BNW until this Friday so the update will have to wait until then I'm afraid.

Civs/CS:
- NA: America, Shoshone. Cahokia, Quebec.
- SA: Brazil, Maya. Panama City, Buenos Aires.
- Africa: Zulu, Egypt, Morocco. Songhai, Jerusalem, Mombasa, Kongo.
- Europe: Portugal, England, France, Poland, Sweden, Russia. Vatican City.
- Asia: Japan, China, Indonesia, India, Assyria, Arabia, Ottomans. Kabul, all the CSs currently in SE Asia.

Couple of balances to the map to account for the new Civs/CS/Natural Wonders (Siberia and Canada in particular have been nerfed). I'm a little worried about Indonesia but we'll toss them in and see what they make of Australia, New Zealand and some of those islands to the norht.
Βηc|Thrallzuma Jul 8, 2013 @ 10:37pm
are you planning in updating it? with the BNW?
Βηc|Thrallzuma Jul 4, 2013 @ 6:59am
Thanks for reply and ill try
Veneke  [author] Jul 3, 2013 @ 11:41pm
Resources are unfortunately static.

You could always add in more or different resources using worldbuilder though, so that's potentially an option. I can't remember if selecting the map but not hitting load scenario randomises resource placement - it very well might, so you could give that a go too.
Βηc|Thrallzuma Jul 3, 2013 @ 8:32am
does this map have random resource placements, beacuse i want to know if i can use a added resoursce with this map?
Veneke  [author] May 30, 2013 @ 12:45am
Glad to hear that you've managed to fix it and that you're enjoying it!
bubs May 29, 2013 @ 1:30pm
Nevermind, I figured it out. GREAT MOD BTW!!!! This is the BEST Earth map as the small room causes realistic tension and expansion (for the most part)
Veneke  [author] May 28, 2013 @ 10:31pm
It certainly shouldn't be crashing after the game has started. I've deliberately kept it to a simple map pack to avoid the game calling on any modifications during gameplay. Can you repeat the crash and, if so, can you give an overview of what happens from loading the mod to the crash?
bubs May 28, 2013 @ 10:00pm
Um, my game keeps crashing very quickly into the game. IS there something wrong/something I'm not doing that is causing this crash? I have G&K and try to play the map as such, but it keeps crashing. Maybe if I try normal it will change. :( I really want to play this map but so far it keeps crashing.
Veneke  [author] May 26, 2013 @ 3:48am
@Dezert: I'm very happy that it worked out for you mate.

Also, just a reminder that I'm always on the lookout for interesting screenshots of people playing a game on the map to display in the slideshow at the top. So if you have one you want to share make sure you send it over to me.
Swift May 19, 2013 @ 10:10am
the mod did FINALLY work, I'll let you know that I really appreciate your help thanks man!
Veneke  [author] May 11, 2013 @ 6:28am
Good catch. That's fixed in the latest upload. I also balanced the luxury resources on that map; there were a few too many Spices and Sugar and not enough Dye and Cotton. I'll be giving a proper overhaul and update to all maps once BNW is out but serious issues like Fish being on land I'll update asap and then toss in some tweaks as I'm there.
jimmy.chunho May 11, 2013 @ 5:37am
Thank you for great effort...
I have tried the V earth map, of which one fish resource was found on Spain plain but not at sea...
Veneke  [author] May 8, 2013 @ 10:19pm
Quick update: I tidied up the old maps so that there are now only 4 and these are substantively different in character, rather than before where they only difference was in victory conditions.

A Vanilla map has been added as has a Gods and Kings version with only 8 Civs and 16 City-States. The recommended map is still the Gods and Kings version with the Inca DLC with the GnK version without the Inca DLC a close second. I've tested all four (including the Vanilla version with the GnK DLC deactivated) and they all work perfectly well. I'm hoping that this will resolve your issues Dezert - let me know if it does.

@ h_duddy - also make sure to select Load Scenario and pick your difficulty setting after you pick your Civ. For some reason picking a Civ seems to reset the difficulty, I've no idea why.
Veneke  [author] May 8, 2013 @ 8:00pm
@ Dezert|Walker| - Sorry mate, I really cannot understand why it won't load for you if you're following all the steps and it has downloaded correctly. I'm going to look into the changes to WB (apparently it's been updated) and release an update to the map pack that will hopefully make it less awkward in terms of settings etc this weekend. Hopefully that will help fix things.

@ h_duddy - When you go to the Mods section and activate the mod, the next selection you want is 'Set up game'. You'll have the option to pick the appropriate map there.
h_duddy May 8, 2013 @ 2:34pm
Hi Venek, thanks for putting the effort into a standard map, it makes it so much more enjoyable in the later games. Unfortunatly I am only able to play on random settings. I can open the mod, go to single player, then have an option for a custom game or to load game. When I do custom, I then only have 1 option, which is to load Earth 1000AD mod, and in that sub folder it does not allow me to change the civ that I play or even display various difficulty levels. It does however work under random settings, which is fine, but I want to play on Diety!

Thanks again!
Swift May 5, 2013 @ 3:33am
No it has not
Veneke  [author] May 5, 2013 @ 3:31am
No, it isn't dependent on anything else. Hmm... I've no idea what could be happening there. Has it worked for you before?
Swift May 5, 2013 @ 3:13am
I've check and I have the vanilla mod not the GnK, and i have done everything that you wrote but still can't find the map in set up game when I enable the mod, just to make sure is there any other mod than just this needed?
