This is just to troll apparently.
What are we doing wrong?
"ALL: We stopped supporting XCOM 2 mods when 2K gave us a Cease & Desist (much like they recently did with GTA 5)."
Their accounts seem to be mostly abandoned or unused from the public eye. Mod is dead sadly.
For anyone in the future --
Apparently this mod received a "CnD" notice. Highly unfortunate.
Others have suggested Teamviewer or Parsec as a method of screen sharing, equivalents to remote play together.
Another mission the VIP we were supposed to extract did not interact with the extraction point in any way.
Questions:
1. Is player 2 supposed to go back to their own save, or get booted to main menu?
2. Does player 2's units status get saved? Ie, promotions/wounds. If not that means it actively hinders progression as the 2nd players units wouldnt contribute to long term at all remaining rookies forever.
3. The videos say that player 2 does not get any rewards or anything, is this still true?
Unfortunately there seems to be a huge gamebreaker: No huds.
If I invite a friend (deleating the last spot to invite a friend than delete the 2nd so we can play 2-2 each) and we start the FIRST mission, its written something like "teammates move" (we are german) there is no hud or the possibility to choose soldiers using tab.
If he s inviting me its the same problem vice versa.
We both put xcom2 into the exception (firewall in kaspersky/excepted program) but it didnt help.
Is there ANY chance to get this working probably?
We were so hyped first and now we are a bit worried that it might not work at all.
Suggestions?
- Host and Guest each had two units to control
- In the previous alien turn a sectoid mind-controlled a guy and another guy panicked. I believe they both may have belonged to the host (whose turn it was next) but am not 100% sure.

- Guest: https://i.imgur.com/k2CJws6.jpg
Note how neither player even sees the 'Teammate's Turn' text. Also, the enemy turn played back first for the host, and then played back for the guest. This means both players would have spent about 20 seconds waiting while nothing was happening on their screen, only obvious since I can see both.
Again, all mods disabled except co-op. port 3074 had been forwarded on the router to the host machine.
Also, Testing has been tedious since after joining a game, if the host exits to menu, both users have to restart the game to be able to play again - they get stuck on loading screen forever otherwise (or crash in case of the host):
- Both accounts had base game, no WOTC, same mods installed and all but Co-op disabled.
- Both accounts had created a brand new game on Commander, tutorial disabled, and played until the first possible mission, then saved.
- Both accounts loaded this save before connecting when in the squad menu
- Once joined in a co-op game, host leaves with escape->quit to menu. Guest is kicked out of course.
- If host now loads the same game they did previously (not autosave), they crash with a crash log.
- If guest now loads the same game they did previously (not autosave), they are stuck in an infinite loading screen.
Both have to force quit.
For the record:
- Both accounts had base game, no WOTC, same mods installed and all but Co-op disabled
- Both accounts had created a brand new game on Commander, tutorial disabled, and played until the first possible mission, then saved.
- Both accounts loaded this save before connecting when in the squad menu
of Note:
- If the host changes difficulty level it moves control to the guest. However after they do their turn and the alien turn runs, the game will be fully stuck
- If either user quits to the menu and then attempts to re-load their save, the game will lock up in the loading screen (waited for 5 minutes before force quitting)
- A visual bug on the host during the briefing is pretty common: https://i.imgur.com/Dzs7im7.jpg
- Port 80 (TCP)
- Port 88 (UDP)
- Port 53 (TCP/UDP)
- Port 443 (TCP)
- Port 3074 (TCP/UDP)
and voila it works
