Populous  [author] Oct 4, 2021 @ 3:11pm
Yes just place in each district and your city.... When kids are born and grow up they can get a job here when they look for work.

Because it cost nothing your cool, but if say commercial or industrial need workers delete or turn off this building to release workers. If you have unemployed workers, simply place this building and they will have jobs.
Populous  [author] Oct 4, 2021 @ 3:04pm
Sorry multitasking, this building picks up the unemployed... so 56% is great... if it was 10% that is okay as other CIMS have jobs... If you delete a building say and leaving 100 cims unemployed they would take a job here.
Populous  [author] Oct 4, 2021 @ 3:01pm
56% is good.... this asset takes up the extra people who don'you have that would be unemployed. This building will run 0% to 100% and that is okay.
cheeseIT TECH Oct 4, 2021 @ 11:20am
@populous imma send u a screenshot
cheeseIT TECH Oct 3, 2021 @ 10:20pm
still at 56%
Populous  [author] Oct 3, 2021 @ 9:29pm
It should cut your unemployment by offering jobs to about 400 Cims.... Testing mine works especially in depressed areas. Are you showing people getting hired?
cheeseIT TECH Oct 3, 2021 @ 4:52pm
it does nothing for me @populous

The fact that people don't actually answer questions or stay on topic is why I don't read formums. Yes, there is a better way to chat without sending notifications to everyone on the list.
Populous  [author] Aug 14, 2018 @ 6:27am
Well yes, when you need people to work commercial, industrial (realize until you have high level industrial... highly educated workers won't work here) then you delete this building to send them to the job market.... but if you leave it, population will eventually increase.
Darkangel Aug 14, 2018 @ 2:17am
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/comments/426460372 see how no one reallky answers the question sufficinetly in the fav cims mod itself. Another person also asks if they leave teh city will they leave permanently or do they come back of which no one bothers to answer him. Very sad. At least I can rely on you to answer even if my question isnt clear enough. Btw is there a way to chat online as it would be so much easier than text.
Darkangel Aug 14, 2018 @ 2:05am
Really? Ok it’s just that when there were less people than jobs my 2 employment agencies still said full 200 jobs used so they weren’t transferring to other needed factories saying not enough workers etc so the only way i got more factory workers was to bulldoze the employment agencies.

Now the separate matter not related to your employment agency directly: did you see my picture I linked with all the 25 year olds that said they left the whole map ie all the 25 year olds on my fav cims mod that said they are now FAR FAR AWAY??? Why only 25yrs leave? That means the 25yrs people have left my map completely never to return! That is what is the game killer. Do you know about this separate phenomena???
Populous  [author] Aug 13, 2018 @ 6:26pm
This states they are visiting other places or places in your city, not that they left. Well yes, if they are happy working here and it is close to thier home, they may move. Also if you don't have jobs available when you delete this asset they will leave. Honestly, just leave the building as it will continue to run with our without employees.... just make sure your local markets have workers, if they do.... leave this building intact or otherwise you take away a great number of jobs. then you can leave the outside connections active.

Please help Pop this is teh game hkiller for me when cims hit 25 they leave and then i need outside 26 years to start again from that age. In other words all my effort in ediucating them with good schools is wasted as highly eductaed people with jobs leave wtf why??? This has happened for the last 4 maps that i can remember.

When I bulldozed the employment agency my cims go immediately in unemployment then it looks like they are leaving staright away as it says minus 700 in red for population and minus around 500 for working people leaving but after a few weeks it balanced again and then started to go up but it seems i still lost some precious highly educated cims from my map. Maybe i should cut all outside connections so they cant escape?
Populous  [author] Aug 13, 2018 @ 6:37am
Darkangel, Bulldozing will not attract outside Cims... having it attracts Cims because there is work. So you would only bulldoze this if your businesses run short of people, and need workers for business. Honestly as employment is available the population goes up and unemployment rate decreases. I have never had an employment issue where I had to destroy the building, but one can if they over develop and need to put workers on the market... Not enough employees available and business will leave, but bulldozing is a last resort to save business if ever needed either way people should not leave your city unless there is no jobs and this building provides jobs and takes on your unemployed. 62k is a good game
Populous  [author] Aug 13, 2018 @ 6:25am
Ana, thanks and welcome to Cities Skylines
Darkangel Aug 13, 2018 @ 4:34am
How do you know that by bulldozing this building you will not get new workers from outside instead of these ones you expected who may leave town instead? Is that ever possible or will this guarantee the same workers here wont leave your city but will fill up an office needing workers etc? Also since i use realistic aging ie the 1/16 live to 90 years instead of 5 years and also avoids death waves I have noticed one drawback in that most of the people that leave my city are aged 24 to 25 when they finish uni and need to move out of home and or start a family in another house or unit. It amazes me that not all my houses are filled so why the game ejects them im not sure since I havent fully reached the 65k agent limit yet although im close at 62k.
MissAnaHappy Aug 13, 2018 @ 3:19am
Nevermind! All it needed was a bit of time to work. I left the game running and unemployment had gone down when I came back. I'll get the expansions eventually, but I'm still learning how to play! :)
Populous  [author] Aug 13, 2018 @ 2:05am
Good question and not sure to be honest. It does take time to hire on staff. I'll look into this.. Wait... are you the last person on earth who does not have After dark?
MissAnaHappy Aug 13, 2018 @ 1:58am
Do you need After Dark for this to work? I placed one in my city but didn't notice any difference...
Populous  [author] Aug 5, 2018 @ 8:23am
Hello Darkangel,,, Just realized that is a phrase I never expected to say, ever... I have actually tested it with wth fill the houses and as residential populates at a high rate, this provides Jobs instantly for unemployed untill Commercial and Industrieal are built up and then you simply remove the building when you need these employees to work for your city. That said, this works extremely well if you overdevelop residential and need places for people to work.
Darkangel Aug 5, 2018 @ 2:25am
Hey Pop does this conflict with fill the houses & make overeducated people work in farms etc mod or work with it?
Populous  [author] Nov 24, 2017 @ 2:21pm
Ah, that was you? You are famous
Ilion Nov 24, 2017 @ 10:50am
I have it. I over-did nursing homes in my first city. I placed over 60 -- of that one -- so, 200 rooms/households x 60! Putting that many really stalled the city's growth for a long time, because the rooms count as households. And since a lot of them were at only half occupancy, the RCI demand meter had no "R", and it was pointless to put anything else, since what I needed was new workers.
Populous  [author] Nov 24, 2017 @ 10:02am
Yes true, but the issue is retired take up residential needed for employable staff to live... so the smart seniors move here: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1128208721
Ilion Nov 23, 2017 @ 10:08pm
Another possibility is that the seemingly "phantom jobs" are actual jobs ... it's just that in a city of 73K, there are so many cims retiring at evey click of the game's clock that there are always some number of open jobs, no matter how many cims are available to fill them.
Populous  [author] Nov 22, 2017 @ 6:21am
Odd huh? I will play with when I get some time.
Ilion Nov 22, 2017 @ 12:00am
That was my thought when I first subscribed to this asset (when I'd had the game for just a few days). But then, in playing the game over time, I eventually noticed that -- at least in the game as modded on my PC -- turned-off buildings keep their employees. I could be mis-remembering, but I think I noticed this before I had many mods; and certainly before I got the "Districts" mod.

One of those mysteries, I suppose.
Populous  [author] Nov 21, 2017 @ 4:55pm
Yes, turning it on or off would work perfectly... and turninging it off stops new hires, but should release workers at a point there is employment.. Given all the issues reported asset after asset, you my have an issue with the zoning mod... nothing should have the issues you report.
Ilion Nov 21, 2017 @ 4:37pm
Another possibility for the source of those "phantom jobs" would be if services buildings won't fill a position with an "over-educated" worker. Since my city's population are mostly college graduates (I'm currently trying to intentionally under-supply education), it could be that most of the services building are under-staffed. And that might explain why when fires break out, the fire stations frequently don't even send out a truck.

On the other hand, I read a review of the game by someone who built a fully functional city ... with residential zoning for *one* household. The buses ran; the cops patrolled; the firemen put out fires; and when his citizens died, the hearses did their thing (the way he described it, the hearse was there the pick up the second one before he had even died).
Ilion Nov 21, 2017 @ 3:56pm
On a related note, something causes "phantom jobs" ... which, since they don't exist, can't be filled.

In my other city (current population over 73K), the Population tab consistently shows over 700 demand for more workers. This is the case whether unemployment is at 2% or 20%.

I'm speculating here, but I wonder whether these "jobs" are from abandoned buildings.
Ilion Nov 21, 2017 @ 3:46pm
"Instead of destroying it, would turning on and off work too?"

Does turning off a building *actually* release its workers? You'd think so, but that not how it seems to me (*). I'm speaking of buildings in general -- while I've subscribed to this asset, I've not actually used it yet. I am thinking of using it in my new city, since I want to increase the population but I don't really want to put in more factories just yet. So, that question occurred to me, and in testing it, the result I see is that even turned off, "The Employment Agency" retains the workers it had, and indeed gains new ones if if has vacancies and there are unemployed cims.

(*) in observing other buildings.
